Finding out how patriarchal values are ingrained in family dynamics and how women are oppressed and empowered is the goal of this study. Characters, dialogue, conflict patterns, and narrative structure are all examined in this study using feminist literary theory and a qualitative descriptive methodology. The findings demonstrate how the movie depicts unfairness, favouritism, jealousy, and power disparity among female characters in a patriarchal household. The motion picture. The film also emphasises the female characters' strong and defiant moments, highlighting the intricate relationship between feminist views and conventional values. Abstract

Imagination plays a crucial role in childhood development, often represented through imaginary friends as emotional and cognitive companions. The movie IF (2024) presents a unique narrative that visualizes children’s imaginary friends and their deeper meanings. This research aims to analyze the characterization of imaginary friends. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this research applies Albertine Minderop’s fictional characterization theory to examine how each imaginary friend is portrayed through name and dialogue. Data is collected through observation of the movie's scenes, character interactions, and dialogues. The findings reveal that imaginary friends are not merely fictional entities but serve as emotional representation of unspoken feelings such as grief, loneliness, and inner strength. This research concludes that IF (2024) offers a profound representation of how imaginary friends can accompany a child's psychological journey, bridging creativity, emotional growth, and the struggle of letting go.

Abstract

The research aims to identify Orion Pax’s journey to regain liberation from constricted environments that undervalued him as a miner and undermined him as lower class. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, the research identified 10 of the 12 phases of Orion Pax's transformation as a step towards his final transformation into Optimus Prime. The findings reveal that Orion oppressive environment undervalues him as a defective bot with no cog to urge him to yearn for a new life. Along the journey, he learns of Sentinel Prime's crimes, which motivate him to fight for his freedom, only to be betrayed by D-16, resulting in his untimely death. His resurrection as Optimus Prime restored the balance to Cybertron and abolished the rigid structure of Cybertron society. Ensuring freedom to the miner class of Cybertron with a new vision of equality. This study argues that Vogler’s Hero’s Journey is not bound to the traditional self-discovery structure but instead can be applied to a non- human character in oppressive settings, providing new perspectives on class struggle, labour exploitation and freedom. The study contributes to the enrichment of the narrative and literary fields in Hero’s journey transformation in the Transformer Universe field.

Abstract

In today’s digital landscape, traditional norms of politeness are increasingly challenged by the fluid and often informal nature of online communication, particularly among teenagers. This study focuses on how Sundanese teenagers apply undak-usuk basa, a cultural system of linguistic politeness in their content interactions on TikTok, a platform characterized by spontaneous and casual exchanges. The aim of this research is to analyze how face-saving and face-threatening strategies are utilized by Sundanese-speaking adolescents in digital peer communication. Employing a qualitative approach, the study collects data through observation and discourse analysis of selected TikTok videos. Brown and Levinson’s Politeness Theory serves as the primary framework to examine how traditional politeness strategies are adapted within modern teenage interactions. The findings reveal that Sundanese teenagers apply undak-usuk basa selectively, influenced by social context, peer dynamics, and platform-specific norms. These results suggest that while digital media shapes communication behavior, the cultural norms embedded in undak-usuk basa remain relevant in the practice of both face-saving and face-threatening acts
