Abstract

The past is often considered the temptation as well as the footing that remains to be found traces up to now through manuscripts with hundreds or even millions of texts of cunning works in the past, one of the azimic texts and a cultural heritage that emerged as a representation of the result of direct dialect between culture and religion. Textual actualization becomes important in order to reconstruct the paradigm of past societies about the mythical view which is based on the interculture. Aceh through its azimuth mirrors' heroism and patriotism as well as the etiology of personality and naturalistic diseases, irrespective of the dualism of view between the factual and the irrational.

Abstract

Artikel ini mengurai lebih detail nilai pendidikan karakter dalam naskah Hikayat Abu Syamah berdasarkan hasil translitrasinya. Hikayat Abu Syamah ditulis dalam berbahasa Melayu dan tersimpan hampir di berbagai daerah di Nusantara, berkisah tentang Abu Syamah sebagai objek utamanya. Korpus tulisan ini ialah hasil translitrasi teks Hikayat Abu Syamah koleksi Museum Aceh dengan nomor A 0721/1945 dan naskah B 07-4721/3014 dalam perbandingan terdahulu. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan filologis dengan konsep pendidikan karakter dalam realita kekinian sebagai alat interpretasinya. Melalui analisa tersebut makin memperkuat temuan bahwa nilai pendidikan karakter nyatanya sudah ada sejak belasan abad lalu dan terimplementasi dalam kehidupan masyarakat dengan latar belakang berbeda pada masa dahulu relevan hingga kini. Adapun nilai karakter yang dijumpai pada sikap Abu Syamah dalam hikayat ialah nilai religius, jujur, berprasangka baik, amanah, adil, tawakkal, bertanggungjawab, lemah lembut, semangat kebangsaan, demokratis juga keberanian, dengan dominasi nilai religius sebagai karakter dasar dan penting yang tampak pada sikap si tokoh utama, sikap ini relevan dengan konteks kekinian dan keindonesiaan.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of the preservation of ancient manuscripts from the Philology Practicum activities conducted by the students of the Arabic Language and Literature Program (BSA) at the Faculty of Adab and Humanities, UIN Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh, at Dayah Teungku Chiek Awe Geutah. The philology Practicum is a Compulsory course for BSA Students, making it an essential activity for them to undertake before completing their studies. This activity is expected to have a significant impact on students in preserving ancient manuscripts, which are important heritage, and also assist the heirs of Teungku Chiek Awe Geutah in maintaining and preserving these manuscripts. Based on these considerations, this study formulates the following research questions: 1) Why is the Philology Practicum course important for the preservation of ancient manuscripts at Dayah Teungku Chiek Awe Geutah. 2) What is the impact of the Philology Practicum activities on the preservation of ancient manuscripts at Dayah Teungku Chiek Awe Guetah? Using a descriptive qualitative methodology based on preservation theory with a literature study approach, the researchers conducted analysis and data collection through stages consisting of observation, interviews, documentation, and literature review. The data analysis was carried out in three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results obtained from this research are: 1) The Philology Practicum activities conducted by BSA students have a significant impact on the preservation of ancient manuscripts at Dayah Teungku Chiek Awe Guetah. 2) The Philology Practicum activities assist the heirs in identifying the manuscripts located ata Dayah Teungku Chiek Awe Geutah. 3) There are three obstacles faced by the heirs in preserving the manuscripts: human resources (HR), limited budget, and adequate facilities.
