Abstract

This study describes the attitude of the struggle of the people of Ash from the historical point of view as well as the form of the contribution of the fighting of Ash to Nusantara and the culture of Ash. This qualitative research data is collected by means of the study of the library by collecting the reading materials that correspond to the discussion. The data is then done reading techniques and recorded from the reading results of the materials related to the struggle of aceh and contribution to nusantara and culture. The results of reading and recording techniques, will answer the form of the problem is how to fight aceh against nusantara, and how the fight of Aceh in culture. Thus it can be concluded that the aceh's historical championship is very great against Nusantara and culture also from the point of view of Islamization in Nusantara. It is based on the territory of the Acheh and the attitude of the acheh monarchy as well as the diplomatic relations carried out by the Aceh kingdoms. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Kajian ini mendeskripsikan tentang sikap perjuangan masyarakat Aceh ditinjau dari sejarah serta bentuk kontribusi perjuangan masyarakat Aceh terhadap Nusantara dan kebudayaan Aceh. Data penelitian kualitatif ini dikumpulkan dengan cara studi kepustakaan dengan mengumpulkan bahan-bahan bacaan yang sesuai dengan pembahasan. Data tersebut kemudian dilakukan teknik membaca dan dicatat dari hasil pembacaan materi-materi yang berkaitan dengan perjuangan aceh dan kontribusinya terhadap nusantara dan kebudayaan. Hasil dari teknik baca dan rekam, akan menjawab berupa permasalahan bagaimana perjuangan aceh melawan nusantara, dan bagaimana perjuangan aceh secara budaya. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa keutamaan sejarah aceh sangat besar terhadap nusantara dan budaya juga dari sudut pandang islamisasi di nusantara. Hal ini didasarkan pada wilayah Aceh dan sikap monarki Aceh serta hubungan diplomasi yang dilakukan kerajaan-kerajaan Aceh.

Abstract

This study investigates the motivation of polyglots to learn multiple languages, a topic not extensively studied in literature. It focuses on the role of motivation as a stimulus triggering consistent behavior in learning a foreign language, offering a unique perspective on this phenomenon. Purpose: The present study examines the diverse motivational backgrounds of polyglots and investigates the relationship between these motivations and the multilingual acquisition of foreign languages by polyglots. The study involved five informants who participated in semi-structured interviews, utilizing a descriptive case study approach for data collection. Results: The results demonstrated that the four main reasons why polyglots learned numerous foreign languages were: (a) enjoyment; (b) social interaction; (c) career advancement; and (d) intellectual pursuits. Prior studies have mostly shown that people who are studying foreign languages do so primarily for academic, professional, and social reasons. Apart from the three reasons, polyglots learned multiple languages for their own enjoyment. This is the main justification for their dedication to long-term multilingual education. Conclusion: The results of this study advance our knowledge of the motivations behind multilingual polyglots' acquisition of foreign languages. It is envisaged that language learners will successfully acquire numerous foreign languages by adopting or modifying the research participants' motives. To sustain kids' desire to learn foreign languages, educators, parents, and policymakers can think about, select, and construct engaging language activities as well as appropriate language teaching approaches.

Abstract

Islamic Sharia in its implementation in Aceh and the Middle East is full of issues that hinder its implementation. Human rights issues are one form of obstacles and contradictions that are often faced in the implementation of Islamic law in Aceh and the Middle East. In this article, we analyze how Islamic Sharia is implemented in Aceh and the Middle East as well as the obstacles and contradictions faced by the governments of Aceh and the Middle East. The research method used to analyze the problem is using qualitative descriptions with library research data collection techniques. The results obtained from data analysis are that Aceh implemented the Qanun Jinayat which was structured in such a way that there were no elements that would undermine human rights (HAM). In this case, everything has been prepared in law and Qanun Jinayat with the aim of maintaining and respecting human values in Aceh so that the people in Aceh are not oppressed, and in successful implementation it is important to involve Aceh traditional institutions. Meanwhile, in the Middle East, the application of Islamic law is the main basis for establishing law. This is because the Koran and Hadith are the highest law in the Middle East or in other words the law of heaven.

Abstract

Robert Charles Venturi Jr. adalah seorang arsitek ternama asal Amerika Serikat, salah satu pendiri firma Venturi, Scott Brown and Associates, dan salah satu tokoh utama dalam perkembangan arsitektur abad ke-20. Karya-karya Venturi dikenal karena keberagaman gaya dan pendekatannya yang sulit untuk dikategorikan dalam satu aliran tertentu. Meskipun sering dianggap sebagai arsitek Post-Modern, Venturi sendiri menyatakan bahwa ia lebih mengidentifikasikan dirinya sebagai seorang Modernis dalam praktik arsitekturnya. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerapan konsep desain arsitektur Post-Modern pada karya-karya pentingnya, seperti Vanna Venturi House, Fire Station, Sainsbury Wing (National Gallery), dan Seattle Art Museum. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan deskriptif dengan pengumpulan data melalui observasi tidak langsung atau observasi virtual, yaitu dengan menganalisis gambar-gambar bangunan yang tersedia di sumber-sumber terpercaya secara daring. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konsep Post-Modern dalam karya-karya Venturi tidak hanya terbatas pada bentuk fisiknya, tetapi juga mencakup nilai-nilai dan makna yang terkandung dalam desain bangunan serta hubungan bangunan dengan konteks sosial dan budaya di sekitarnya.

Abstract

Future generations are a crucial pillar of society. They will become leaders and take charge of societal development. Therefore, preparing the younger generation is essential, especially through dayah educational institutions. As the oldest religious education institutions operating within Indonesian society, dayah institutions face numerous challenges in adapting to the digital era. These challenges include preparing the younger generation to keep up with modern developments and becoming agents of community development. This article employs qualitative research methods to address these issues, using observation and analytical studies of relevant documentation. The findings suggest that dayah educational institutions need to modernize their systems by integrating technological advancements and preparing adequate resources to support their educational missions. Additionally, incorporating religious moderation into the curriculum is necessary to foster tolerance and appreciation for diversity among the younger generation. This approach aims to safeguard them from the influence of hoaxes disseminated by irresponsible parties via social media and the internet, which could disrupt societal unity. Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of the preservation of ancient manuscripts from the Philology Practicum activities conducted by the students of the Arabic Language and Literature Program (BSA) at the Faculty of Adab and Humanities, UIN Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh, at Dayah Teungku Chiek Awe Geutah. The philology Practicum is a Compulsory course for BSA Students, making it an essential activity for them to undertake before completing their studies. This activity is expected to have a significant impact on students in preserving ancient manuscripts, which are important heritage, and also assist the heirs of Teungku Chiek Awe Geutah in maintaining and preserving these manuscripts. Based on these considerations, this study formulates the following research questions: 1) Why is the Philology Practicum course important for the preservation of ancient manuscripts at Dayah Teungku Chiek Awe Geutah. 2) What is the impact of the Philology Practicum activities on the preservation of ancient manuscripts at Dayah Teungku Chiek Awe Guetah? Using a descriptive qualitative methodology based on preservation theory with a literature study approach, the researchers conducted analysis and data collection through stages consisting of observation, interviews, documentation, and literature review. The data analysis was carried out in three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results obtained from this research are: 1) The Philology Practicum activities conducted by BSA students have a significant impact on the preservation of ancient manuscripts at Dayah Teungku Chiek Awe Guetah. 2) The Philology Practicum activities assist the heirs in identifying the manuscripts located ata Dayah Teungku Chiek Awe Geutah. 3) There are three obstacles faced by the heirs in preserving the manuscripts: human resources (HR), limited budget, and adequate facilities.

Abstract

This This study compares the calligraphic rules of two renowned Arabic calligraphers, Muhammad Shawqi and Hashim Muhammad Al-Baghdadi, with a focus on their treatment of the Naskh script. Using a comparative qualitative approach, the research analyzes their methods for forming both isolated and connected letters. The findings highlight key stylistic differences: Shawqi favored elongated, intricate letterforms suited for high-quality manuscript production, while Al-Baghdadi employed a simplified and systematic style aimed at educational accessibility. Despite these differences, both shared pedagogical practices, such as beginning lessons with the prayer "Rabbi yassir wa la tu’assir" and starting instruction with isolated letters. The study concludes that Shawqi and Al-Baghdadi played complementary roles in the evolution of Arabic calligraphy—preserving its artistic excellence and expanding its reach through education. This analysis offers new insights into the stylistic and instructional legacies of both figures within the broader context of Arabic calligraphic tradition. مستخلص تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى إجراء مقارنة منهجية بين قواعد الخط عند اثنين من أشهر الخطاطين العرب المعاصرين، وهما محمد شوقي وهاشم محمد البغدادي، مع التركيز على معالجتهما لخط النسخ. ومن خلال منهج نوعي مقارن، تتناول الدراسة تحليل الأساليب الفنية التي اعتمدها كل منهما في تشكيل الحروف المفردة والمترابطة، وذلك في سياق تطور هذا الفن العربي الأصيل. وقد كشفت النتائج عن وجود فروق جوهرية في الأسلوب الفني بين الخطاطين؛ حيث اتسم أسلوب شوقي بطول الحروف وتعقيد أشكالها، مما جعله مناسبًا لإنتاج المخطوطات ذات الجودة العالية، في حين تميز أسلوب البغدادي بالبساطة والنظام، مما جعله أكثر ملاءمة للأغراض التعليمية ونقل المهارات الخطية للمبتدئين. ورغم هذه الفروق، يشترك الخطاطان في جملة من الممارسات التربوية، من أبرزها افتتاح الدروس بالدعاء المأثور "ربّ يسّر ولا تعسّر"، والبدء بتعليم الحروف المفردة. وتخلص الدراسة إلى أن محمد شوقي وهاشم البغدادي قد أدّيا دورين تكامليين في مسيرة تطوّر الخط العربي؛ فبينما ساهم الأول في الحفاظ على القيمة الفنية والجمالية لهذا الفن، أسهم الثاني في نشره وتيسير تعليمه على نطاق أوسع. وتوفر هذه الدراسة رؤية تحليلية معمقة للإرث الفني والتعليمي لكلا الخطاطين، ضمن الإطار العام لتقاليد الخط العربي وتطوّره المعاصر
