Abstract

Beef cattle are meat-producing cattle used for fulfilling and improving people's nutrition. The increase in the beef cattle population in Indonesia has not fully met the demand for meat nationally due to the low productivity of local livestock. Low livestock productivity can occur due to livestock health factors, one of them being caused by worm parasites infection. This disease causes economic loss, resulting in lower growth and weight gain, and can lead to death. A qualitative examination, stool test is needed for a qualitative examination to identify gastrointestinal parasites in livestock, especially the type and degree of infection. This study aims to identify the types of worms found in the beef cattle faeces in Teluk Nangka Village, Kubu District. This study uses a quantitative descriptive method. The parameters used in this study were the identification of worm parasites in the faeces of beef cattle in Teluk Nangka Village, Kubu District. Examination of samples using the sedimentation method and the floating method. The research results show that the types of worm parasites found in beef cattle faeces in Teluk Nangka Village, Kubu District, Kubu Raya Regency are Strongyloides sp, Trichostrongylus sp, Moniezia sp and Taenia sp.

Abstract

Ibu-ibu kelompok majlis ta’lim dan BKMT Pontianak Tenggara memiliki anggota kelompok cukup banyak. Anggota kelompok terdiri dari berbagai kalangan, baik dari segi ekonomi rendah, menengah, maupun dari ekonomi atas. Pembinaan di bidang pengolahan limbah peternakan terutama pada pengolahan limbah usus ayam broiler belum pernah dilaksanakan pada kelompok Majlis Ta’lim BKMT Pontianak Tenggara. Usus ayam broiler merupakan by product dari pemotongan ayam broiler yang tidak terolah dengan baik sehingga menjadi limbah yang dapat mencemari lingkungan dan berbau amis. Oleh karena itu melalui kegiatan PKM ini diharapkan limbah usus ayam broiler bisa dimanfaatkan dan diolah menjadi produk makanan ringan yang bisa dijual. Dari hasil PKM bersama ibu-ibu BKMT Pontianak Tenggara, setelah dilakukan penyebaran kuesioner sebelum dan sesudah pelatihan, ibu-ibu menyukai rasa, tekstur, warna, dan aroma yang dihasilkan dari pengolahan limbah usus ayam broiler menjadi makanan ringan. Sehingga kesimpulan yang diperoleh ialah ibu-ibu berminat menjadikan produk olahan dari limbah usus ayam broiler ini untuk dijual sebagai tambahan pemasukan kas baik secara individu maupun untuk organisasi BKMT Pontianak Tenggara.

Abstract

Livestock waste results from livestock activities in the form of solid, and liquid waste. Generally, waste is not utilized, causing environmental pollution. The Slaughterhouse is a place where cattle slaughtering activities are carried out usually leaving behind various wastes in the form of cow offal, cow blood, cow urine and feces, also skin, if it is not handled properly it will cause an unhealthy environment and can cause the meat to be contaminated by microbes that exist around the slaughterhouse environment. This research aims to analyze wastewater from the Pontianak City Slaughterhouse. The research parameters consist of Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD), Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Total Suspended Solids (TSS), pH, ammonia, fat, and oil tests. Data analysis uses quantitative descriptive analysis. The results showed that the wastewater produced from the livestock slaughtering process at slaughterhouse X Pontianak City was highly above the standard threshold of wastewater quality standards for BOD, COD, TSS, ammonia, and fatty oil, but the pH was within the standard. It can be concluded that the practice of processing wastewater produced by slaughterhouse X in Pontianak City was not optimal, the quality of wastewater was above the standard value of wastewater quality for slaughterhouse activities.

Abstract

ABSTRAK: Sistem pemeliharaan ternak sapi potong di Inodonesia masih tergolong sederhana dengan pola ekstensif yaitu ternak dilepas di padang pengembalaan sedangkan sapi potong merupakan salah satu sumberdaya penghasil daging yang memiliki manfaat besar bagi pemenuhan dan peningkatan gizi masyarakat. Peningkatan populasi sapi potong di Indonesia tidak dapat mengimbangi permintaan kebutuhan daging secara nasional karena rendahnya produktivitas ternak lokal. Produktivitas ternak yang rendah dapat terjadi karena faktor kesehatan ternak. Penyakit yang dapat menyerang sapi seperti penyakit yang disebabkan oleh infeksi parasit cacing. Infeksi cacing menyebabkan kerugian ekonomis yang diakibatkan oleh pertambahan bobot badan yang lambat dan penurunan berat badan serta dapat menyebabkan kematian. Pemeriksaan feses sangat diperlukan untuk mengidentifikasi adanya parasit gastrointestinal pada ternak terutama jenis dan derajat infeksinya, menggunakan pemeriksaan kualitatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat prevalensi yang terdapat pada feses sapi potong yang ada di Desa Teluk Nangka Kecamatan Kubu Kabupaten Kubu Raya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif. Parameter yang digunakan pada penelitian ini prevalensi parasit cacing pada feses sapi potong di Desa Teluk Nangka Kecamatan Kubu. Pemeriksaan sampel menggunakan metode sedimentasi dan metode apung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sapi yang berumur kurang dari dua tahun memiliki prevalensi yang lebih tinggi yaitu 26,66% bila dibandingkan dengan sapi yang berumur lebih dari dua tahun yang memiliki prevalensi 13,33%, sapi jantan memiliki prevalensi yang lebih tinggi 23,33% bila dibandingkan dengan sapi betina yang memiliki prevalensi 16,66% dengan total prevalensi dari 30 sampel yaitu 40%.Kata Kunci: cacing, feses, sapi potongPrevalence of Worm Parasites in Beef Cattle in Teluk Nangka Village, Kubu District, Kubu Raya DistrictABSTRACT: The beef cattle rearing system in Indonesia is still relatively simple with an extensive pattern, namely the cattle are released on grazing fields, while beef cattle are one of the meat-producing resources which have great benefits for fulfilling and improving community nutrition. Sample examination uses the sedimentation method and floating method. The results of the study showed that cows less than two years old had a higher prevalence, namely 26.66%, compared to cows more than two years old which had a prevalence of 13.33%, bulls had a higher prevalence of 23.33%. compared to female cattle which had a prevalence of 16.66% with a total prevalence of 30 samples, namely 40%.Keyword: beef cattle, feces, worms

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan probiotik dari limbah kulit buah pisang terhadap peforma produksi itik hibrida dan untuk mengetahui konsentrasi terbaik pada setiap perlakuannya. Metode penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 5 perlakuan yaitu P0 (control), P1 (probiotik 5 ml), P2 (probiotik 10 ml), P3 (probiotik 15 ml), P4 (probiotik 20 ml) dengan setiap perlakuan terdiri dari 5 ulangan. Itik hibrida yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini sejumlah 100 ekor dimana setiap ulangan terdiri dari 4 ekor itik hibrida. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan pemberian probiotik sari kulit pisang dengan konsentrasi yang berbeda memberikan pengaruh berbeda sangat nyata terhadap pertambahan bobot badan (P<0,01) dengan nilai rataan PBB berkisar antara 1.312,75 - 1.732,75 gram/ekor, Memberikan pengaruh berbeda sangat nyata terhadap IOFC (P<0,01) dengan nilai rataan Rp. 36.593,91 – Rp. 54062,96/ekor, dan memberikan pengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap nilai Feed Convertion Ratio (FCR) yang berkisar antara 3,11 – 3.64 serta berpengaruh tidak nyata (P<0,05) terhadap konsumsi pakan dengan nilai rataan 4.965,25  g/ekor sampai 5.465,75  g/ekor. kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah perlakuan pemberian probiotik sari kulit buah pisang mampu memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap performa itik hibrida dengan konsentrasi 20 ml memberikan performa produksi terbaik.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of dietary turmeric (Curcuma longa) supplementation on the cholesterol profile of native chicken meat. Five treatments (control and four levels of turmeric inclusion) with five replications each were used. Data were analyzed using one-way ANOVA. The results showed that turmeric supplementation significantly affected meat cholesterol content (F = 16.302; p < 0.001). The highest cholesterol level was observed in the control group (67.06 ± 4.86 mg/100 g), while the lowest was in treatment 3 (41.57 ± 11.07 mg/100 g). Furthermore, crude protein and fat content of the meat also showed significant differences among treatments. These findings indicate that turmeric powder can be applied as a functional feed to produce native chicken meat with lower cholesterol content.

Abstract

Poultry business has a strategic value in meeting animal protein in Kubu Raya Regency, especially broiler chicken types, in both partnership and independent patterns. This study aims to determine the income comparison between broiler chicken farmers who carry out partnership and independent patterns in Sungai Ambawang District, Kubu Raya Regency. This type of research is a collective case study research, namely examining cases related to cost components to determine and compare the amount of income of broiler chicken business types, partnership, and independent patterns. The results of the study showed that the total variable cost of the independent pattern was IDR 1,519,400,000, and the partnership pattern was IDR 1,490,620,000. The total production cost of the independent pattern was IDR 1,519,400,000, and the partnership pattern was IDR 1,490,620,000. The amount of income from the independent pattern was IDR 1,580,087,500, and the partnership pattern was IDR 1,536,747,500. It can be concluded that the independent broiler chicken farming business is more profitable than the partnership chicken farming business.

Abstract

Abstrak Stunting merupakan kondisi malnutrisi umumnya disebabkan oleh konsumsi asupan dengan gizi kurang, menderita penyakit tertentu, dan pola asuh anak yang kurang baik. Hal ini menyebabkan hambatan pertumbuhan dari janin hingga dua tahun pertama kehidupan anak, ditandai dengan pertumbuhan yang tidak sesuai dengan usia mereka. Maka dari itu kegiatan penyuluhan sosialisasi yang dilakukan di Posyandu Wonodadi 2 bertujuan sebagai awal langkah pencegahan stunting pada anak di masa pertumbuhan. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan dengan metode ceramah, dan diskusi terbuka berupa penyampaian materi mengenai pengenalan makanan sehat bergizi dan seimbang. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan pada Senin,7 Maret 2022 dengan melibatkan 25 orang peserta dengan 6 indikator capaian (kepuasan dalam pelayanan, tanya jawab diskusi, pemenuhan aspek Teknologi Tepat Guna, Pelaksanaan monitoring berkala, peningkatan standar kesehatan) yang dituangkan dalam kuisioner evaluasi hasil kegiatan dengan poin (Tidak Puas, Kurang Puas, Puas, Sangat Puas). Melalui peningkatan pemahaman dan kesadaran masyarakat tentang pentingnya konsumsi makanan seimbang, diharapkan dapat mengurangi kasus stunting dalam komunitas tersebut. Manfaat dari kegiatan ini meliputi peningkatan kesehatan secara keseluruhan bagi individu usia emas dan generasi mendatang, peningkatan kualitas hidup, dan produktivitas masyarakat. Implikasi dari penelitian ini melampaui tingkat individu, memberikan kontribusi positif bagi kesejahteraan masyarakat dan pemerintah setempat. Kata kunci: gizi anak; makanan sehat seimbang;  stunting. Abstract Stunting is a condition of malnutrition commonly caused by inadequate nutrient intake, certain illnesses, and poor child-rearing practices. It leads to growth impediments from the fetus to the first two years of a child's life, characterized by growth not matching their age. Therefore, the educational outreach activities conducted at Posyandu Wonodadi 2 aim as an initial step in preventing stunting during childhood growth. This activity is carried out through lectures and open discusions, focusing on imparting knowledge about recognizing nutritious and balanced diets. Held on MOnday, March 7, 2022, involving 25 participants, the activity had 6 achievement indicators (satisfaction in service, Q&A discussions, fulfillment of Appropriate Technology aspects, periodic monitoring implementation, improvement of health standards) assessed through an evaluation questionnaire with ratings (Not Satisfied, Less Satisfied, Satisfied, Very Satisfied). Through increased understanding and awareness of the importance of balanced nutrition, it is hoped that stunting cases in the community can be reduced. The benefits of this activity include overall health improvement for the elderly and future generations, enhancing quality of life, and community productivity. The implications of this research extend beyond individual levels, providing positive contributions to the welfare of the community and local government.Keywords: balanced nutritional food; child nutrition; stunting.
