Abstract

This study aimed to demonstrate that character education and friendship are factors that influence or foster self-esteem in adolescents. To validate the statement, 250 students in Semarang participated and are involved in this study. Three hypotheses were formulated and tested. The major hypothesis was that character education and friendship have an effect on self-esteem in adolescents. The first minor hypothesis was that character education has an effect on students’ self esteem and the second minor hypothesis was that friendship has an effect on self-esteem in adolescents. The results of data analysis show that all hypotheses are accepted. Furthermore, based on the results, the researchers suggested that character education and friendship dimensions should be considered in an intervention program intended to promote the potential of education character and friendship as a means of fostering self-esteem in adolescents as a foundation for growth and development in the future.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji secara empiris hubungan antara komunikasi interpersonal dengan kohesivitas kelompok pada kelompok Pepelingasih. Hipotesis yang diajukan adalah adanya hubungan yang positif antara komunikasi interpersonal dengan kohesivitas kelompok pada kelompok Pepelingasih. Responden yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 40 orang anggota Pepelingasih yang tergabung pada kelompok PEPELINGASIH Jawa Tengah yang sudah bergabung serta aktif mengikuti kegiatan. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik sampling jenuh. Data penelitian diperoleh dari dua skala yaitu skala kohesivitas kelompok dan skala komunikasi interpersonal. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik Korelasi Product Moment person. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada hubungan positif antara komunikasi iterpersonal dengan kohesivitas kelompok Pepelingasih Jawa Tengah yang ditunjukan dengan nilai koefisiensi korelasi sebesar 0,765 dengan p= 0,000 (p < 0,01) sehingga hipotesis dalam penelitian ini dapat dinyatakan diterima.

Abstract

The community service carried out is entitled Increasing Understanding of Social Interaction with Game Methods for Children in Orphanages. The problem that arises is that orphanage children who come from different family backgrounds tend to often cause the orphanage children's social relationships to be less harmonious, even though they live together in the orphanage. This service aims to provide an understanding of how good social interaction is to improve relationships. between one orphanage child and another orphanage child so that harmony is created in the family of the orphanage child. The method that will be used for this service is a pre-post test, games that support social interaction, and feedback or evaluation of the games provided. The result of this activity is that after gaining information and insight into social interaction through games and sharing sessions as well as feedback from each game, the orphanage children finally understand and understand how good social interaction is. Besides that, the orphanage children can capture the meaning and benefits of the games that have been played. This activity concludes that the children from the orphanage responded quite well, and looked happy and enthusiastic so they got an idea and knowledge about what good social interaction is like, which also includes good communication, collaboration with friends, sharing, and learning from each other togetherness.
