Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas tentang Representasi Budaya dalam Lagu Daerah Rejang di Kabupaten Rejang Lebong. Tujuan Penelitian ini adalah untuk menguraikan bentuk representasi budaya dalam lagu daerah Rejang di Kabupaten Rejang Lebong. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif. Teknik yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data adalah teknik studi kepustakaan. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis data kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa representasi (1) pelestarian alam yang terdapat dalam lagu Senie ne Sadieku, dan lagu Wisata Taneak Tanei Jang, (2) penderitaan terdapat di dalam lagu Tebo Kabeak, dan Ideak, (3) interaksi sosial terdapat dalam lagu Semulen Jang dan Adep Cao (4) adat terdapat dalam lagu 4 Bikeu, Iben adat, dan Buteu Paco (5) tanggung jawab terdapat di dalam lagu Muning Raib. Kesimpulannya bahwa sepuluh lagu daerah Rejang di Kabupaten Rejang Lebong merepresentasikan budaya sistem sosial. Representasi budaya sistem sosial ini diperoleh dari sepuluh lirik lagu daerah Rejang yang memiliki makna representasi pelestarian alam, representasi ketidakadilan, representasi interaksi sosial, representasi suku dan representasi tanggung jawab.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan cerita rakyat batu betajuk dan mengetahui struktur naratif Vladimir Propp dalam cerita rakyat batu betajuk di Kabupaten Bengkulu Selatan. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan pembahasan yang telah diuraikan dapat diambil kesimpulan bahwa cerita batu betajuk adalah salah satu cerita rakyat yang berkembang di masyarakat Serawai, cerita batu betajuk ini mengangkat kisah dua bersaudara yang nyaris menikah karena mereka tidak pernah diperkenalkan dengan orang tua mereka, akhirnya Laili dan Kumala kecewa dan mengutuk diri. Laili menjadi batu betajuk dan Kumala menjelma menjadi ular hitam. Struktur naratif Vladimir Propp yang diperoleh sebanyak 13 fungsi yaitu dimulai dengan situasi awal (α), kemudian diikuti fungsi ketidakhadiran (β), pelarangan (γ), pelanggaran (δ), kekurangan (a), kejahatan (A), mediasi (B), keberangkatan (↑), kemenangan (J), kembali (↓), kedatangan tidak dikenal (o), pernikahan (W), pengenalan (R), tugas berat (M), solusi  (N), dan perubahan rupa (T). Fungsi yang ditemukan sangat efektif dalam menjawab struktur naratif Vladimir Propp karena fungsi berfokus pada elemen yang menentukan bagaimana cerita berkembang dan bergerak maju.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan proses pertunjukan tari napa pada bimbang suku Serawai Kabupaten Bengkulu Selatan serta mengetahui nilai-nilai spiritual dalam pertunjukan tari napa pada bimbang suku Serawai Kabupaten Bengkulu Selatan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan etnografi. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah: (1) observasi, (2) wawancara, (3) catatan lapangan, dan (4) dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini adalah nilai-nilai spiritual meliputi unsur-unsur yang terdapat dalam pertunjukan tari napa pada bimbang suku Serawai Kabupaten Bengkulu Selatan, yakni, simbol, peralatan, fungsi, dan ritual. Pertunjukan tari napa memiliki nilai-nilai spiritual yang terungkap melalui ucapan rasa syukur, kesakralan, keikhlasan, rendah hati, dan kesucian. Sebagai keyakinan dan kepercayaan masyarakat suku Serawai kepada kekuatan dan kekuasaan yang lebih tinggi terhadap Tuhan yang Maha Esa, dengan selalu melibatkan-Nya dalam tradisi pertunjukan tari napa.

Abstract

The focus of this research is to reveal the inheritance of the tradition of performing seni dendang Serawai in Bengkulu. The performance of the seni dendang Serawai is a traditional performance that is shown during the bimbang adat ceremony (traditional wedding ceremony) performed by the cultural studio in the Serawai ethnic community. The research method used is qualitative research using direct observation data collection techniques and direct interviews with the head of the cultural center. The data collected is processed based on the concept of transmission. The results of the research found that the unsi Harapan Bersama in Seluma Regency was still trying to maintain and pass on the seni dendang of the Serawai people. The inheritance of the performing seni dendang is carried out openly through a process. The inheritance process that is carried out is carried out by the dendang players in an active and passive way. The performances of seni dendang are passed down from generation to generation.

Abstract

The representation of masculinity in literary works reflects the social and cultural constructions that shape gender roles and identities within society. The purpose of this study was to analyze the image of masculinity of male characters in the Short Story Collection Sagra by Oka Rusmini. The method used is descriptive qualitative. This study examines the Short Story Collection Sagra by Oka Rusmini using a structural approach. The data in this study are in the form of quotations that describe the masculinity possessed by male characters in the Short Story Collection Sagra. The data collection technique used is literature study. The data analysis technique is carried out by reading, understanding, identifying, analyzing, determining results and making conclusions. The results of the study show that the image of male masculinity in the Sagra Short Story Collection is a caste system, emotionally strong, rich, rational, independent, brave, loving and affectionate, breadwinner, responsible and sexual. Beynon's image of masculinity that was not found in this study was the concept of narcissistic men and metrosexual men. This study provides results that there is a difference between Balinese male masculinity and the concept of masculinity expressed by Beynon. Traits such as violence, and hooliganism, swearing, drinking beer, and making jokes that are considered demeaning to women are considered negative traits that are rejected as attributes of Balinese masculinity. Balinese masculinity emphasizes the existence of harmony or balance between attributes of masculinity and social norms, making traits that are not in line with Balinese customary values ​​and norms not considered masculine attributes. Masculinity oppresses both men and women—men are burdened by societal expectations, while women become objects of domination to reinforce masculine identity.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the function and meaning of the kebah in the Mukomuko community. The method used in this research is a qualitative descriptive method. The results of the research found that kebah refers to a form of oral literature in the form of folklore, history or legend. The main function of the kebah is as a means of education, reflecting public awareness of the importance of education in shaping life. Kebah functions as a medium of expression, where people can express opinions and complaints without feeling embarrassed, because the identity of the character being told remains anonymous. Other functions of the kebah include upholding authority, challenging tradition, entertainment, unification, socialization, forming cultural identity, and social criticism. In terms of its meaning, kebah contains a deep message, especially regarding the relationship between parents and children. This relationship functions as a foundation for forming children's character and values, where parents act as role models in teaching morality and ethics. This meaning not only affects individuals, but also impacts the broader social structure, forming generations of mutual respect. Apart from that, kebah also emphasizes the meaning of luck, which is understood as the result of a combination of opportunities and an individual's ability to exploit them, as well as the result of hard work. Thus, kebah not only has an impact on individuals, but also has an impact on the formation of broader social structures.

Abstract

The focus of this research is to reveal the story structure and values of character education  in the wishes of the Besemah Tribe community in Lahat Regency. Andai-andai or ande-ande is a  name for folklore for the Besemah tribe people which is usually used as a bedtime tale. The research method used is qualitative research with direct observation data collection techniques and direct interviews with informants. The collected data were analyzed on the basis of Levi Strauss's theory of structuralism. The results of the study found  that each story analyzed had a forward plot that showed a similarity in story patterns. Every story always features a strong and responsible female character who represents the mother or grandmother figure as the central character in the story, while the father character is rarely presented in the story. The values of character education found in  the Besemah community are, (1) honesty, (2) sincerity, (3) sharing, (4) obedience, (5) caring, (6) courage, (7) independence.
