Abstract

This study delves into the design thinking characteristics among students in the field of information technology innovation, examining their competencies within the context of the Information Technology Education program at Mandalika University of Education - Indonesia. Employing an exploratory descriptive research design, the research focuses on 30 students, utilizing the Design Thinking Scale to assess six crucial dimensions: comfort with uncertainty and risks, human-centeredness, mindfulness of the process and impacts on others, collaborative work with diversity, orientation to learning by making and testing, and confidence and optimism to use creativity. The findings reveal a comprehensive understanding of the nuanced aspects of students' design thinking capabilities, indicating areas for improvement. Notably, students exhibit discomfort with uncertainty and risks, signaling a need for interventions to enhance resilience and adaptability. Human-centeredness, collaborative work with diversity, and mindfulness to the process receive "Poor" and "Fair" ratings, emphasizing the importance of fostering user-centric approaches and enhancing collaborative competencies. While students demonstrate a moderate level of competency in practical learning and creative application, there is room for improvement in orientation to learning by making and testing and confidence and optimism to use creativity. The overall "Poor" rating for the average design thinking score suggests a collective need for targeted interventions and educational strategies. This study contributes to the ongoing discourse on design thinking in IT education. It offers insights that can inform tailored pedagogical approaches and interventions to enhance students' design thinking capabilities in preparation for the dynamic challenges of the evolving information technology landscape.

Abstract

This service activity aims to equip SMKN 7 Mataram teachers with the development of Information and Communication Technology knowledge and skills in utilizing one of the information technology applications to make teaching materials more interesting. Of the many information technologies in the world of education, Canva is an online graphic design application that allows users to create various types of visual content such as posters, brochures, presentations, and others. Canva offers various free features to various design templates to support users in creating graphic content such as creating teaching materials. Based on observations, several teachers at SMKN 7 Mataram have utilized this application as their teaching material and there are teachers who still use traditional methods of teaching because they are not used to using the Canva application. With the rapid development of technology, the Canva application also increasingly offers many features and templates to support learning media for teachers. Based on this, to help teachers at SMKN 7 Mataram, the service team provided assistance on exploring more widely the use of Canva such as how to create their own learning media templates to create learning videos. Based on the results of the evaluation carried out on the material of the mentoring activities carried out, very good results were obtained and the partners also said that they were greatly helped by the material that had been delivered by the community servant team.

Abstract

This study aims to design and validate a business incubation model based on a technopreneurship learning factory, addressing the gap between academic learning and industry demands in the context of Industry 4.0. The increasing unemployment rate among university graduates, exacerbated by a lack of practical skills and industry alignment, highlights the urgency for innovative educational approaches. The proposed model integrates theoretical knowledge with entrepreneurial simulations, fostering design thinking and competitive advantage in technopreneurship. Employing a developmental research approach, the model was evaluated through expert validation involving specialists in education, business, and technology. The validation process emphasized content and construct validity, ensuring the model's alignment with both academic and industrial requirements. The results confirmed its theoretical soundness and practical relevance, marking a significant step in revitalizing entrepreneurship education programs. This model provides a framework for universities to bridge the skills gap and enhance their role in preparing students for the modern labor market. Future research should focus on piloting the model across diverse disciplines and institutions to assess its adaptability and long-term impact. By fostering industry-academic collaboration, this study contributes to the development of a sustainable technopreneurship ecosystem, advancing innovation while addressing the challenges of traditional entrepreneurship education.

Abstract

The rapid development of information technology has encouraged the emergence of digital innovations in various fields, one of which is Virtual Tour innovation. Undikma campus needs to have a visual promotional media that can describe the campus facilities and environment as a whole, and is easily accessible to prospective students and the wider community. Based on these problems, this research aims to build an E-Panorama-based Virtual Tour as a medium for introducing Undikma campus visually to prospective students and the public through a website that can be accessed by anyone. By utilizing 360-degree panoramic photos, this Virtual Tour is expected to provide an interactive visual experience for users and increase the attractiveness of Undikma campus for prospective students and the community. The development model used in this research is the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC), which consists of six stages, namely concept, design, material collecting, assembly, testing, and distribution. Based on the results of the feasibility test, it shows that the Virtual Tour meets high standards with a feasibility percentage of 87 percent from media experts and 85.72 percent from users, so that this Virtual Tour can be declared suitable for use with a very good level of acceptance. So, it can be concluded from this research that the construction of the E-Panorama-based Virtual Tour has succeeded in achieving its goal as a medium for visually introducing the Undikma campus to prospective students and the public through a website that can be accessed by anyone and can be well received by users.
