Abstract

AbstractThis research have the purpose to determine skill differentiation of science process, before and after studying guided inquiry learning model at salt hydrolysis material. This research also have the purpose to know the impact of science process skill of the  XI MIPA SMAS Santo Fransiskus Asisi Pontianak students. This research used pre-experimental design method with design One-Group Pretest-Posttest. Data collecting  were executed by measuring technique, direct observation, and direct communication. Wilcoxon result  showed that there are differentiation between science process skill of the students before and after the application of guided inquiry learning model. By using effect size Glass,  the calculation result showed that there are the influence of science process skill of the students before and after the application of guided inquiry learning model about 80,98%.  Keywords: Guided Inquiry, Science Process Skill, and Salt  Hydrolysis.

Abstract

AbstractThis research is based on the students who passive and the monotonous teaching with lecture method from teacher during the learning process so that impacts to the achievement. The purpose of this study is to determine the difference of achievement and the influence of the use of guided discovery learning model with feedback on the students's achievement on the salt hydrolysis material. The form of the research used is quasi experiment with the research design "nonequivalent control group design in the form of pretest-posttest control group design". Samples were selected based on saturated sampling technique, class XI IPA 1 as experimental class and class XI IPA 2 as control class because the UTS grade of experimental class was lower than control class. The data collection tool used consists of a test of achievement consisting of pretest and posttest. Based on the analysis of posttest data with U-Mann-Whitney test obtained Asymp.Sig (2-tailed) of 0.003 < 0.05 which means there are differences in achievement between students using GDL model with feedback with students using conventional models. Calculation of Effect Size with GDL model with feedback gives 33,40% influence to student achievement on salt hydrolysis material grade XI SMA Panca Bhakti Pontianak.          Keywords: GDL with Feedback, achievement, salt hydroliysis

Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this study was to describe the student?s conceptual understanding on the material of element, compound and mixture in grade VII of  SMP Negeri 4 Sungai Raya. A descriptive method was employed in this study. As many as 35 students participated as the subject. Essay test and interview guidelines were used to collect data. According to data analysis the average of student?s conceptual understanding was 34,28 % which categorized as poor. The percentage of student?s understanding in (1) the element concept was 55 % (2) the compound concept was 41,42 %; (3) the mixture concept was 53,57 %; (4) the properties of the metal element concept was 82,86 %; (5) the homogeneous mixture concept was 11,43 %; (6) the heterogeneous mixture concept was 12,86 %; (7) the colloid concept was 33,57 %; (8) the suspension concept was 14,28 %; (9) the element symbol concept was 27,86 %; and (10) nomenclature binary compounds concept was 1,9 %.Keywords: conceptual understanding, element, compound, mixture

Abstract

AbstrakThe purpose of the research is to find out and to describe the students? skills of SMA Negeri 1 Sungai Ambawang in planning, arranging schedule and presenting the  water purifier products, as well as to find out whether the water which is produced has met the criteria of odorless, colorless, tasteless and unclouded. This research use pre-experiment method with one shot case study design. The technique of data collecting which being used is direct observation technique by using group skill sheet and direct communication through interview. The population of this research is class XI IPA 1 and XI IPA 2 SMA Negeri 1 Sungai Ambawang. Since the sample is homogenous, the research sampling is determined by using random sampling and it is obtained that class XI IPA 1 which consist of 30 students has been chosen as the sample of the research. The result of the analysis shows that the students? skill on making plan and arranging schedule is on very good category, meanwhile the students? skill on presenting the product is on enough category. The analysis also finds out that 33,33 % of the water which was produced by the water purification has been fulfilled the quality of clean water..Keyword:Project Method, Water purification, colloid

Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this study was to describe the error form students grade of VII SMP Kemala Bhayangkari on material changes. The research method was descriptive. The subjects of this study were students grade of VII A SMP Kemala Bhayangkari. As well as twenty two students were used as subject in this research. Data collection tools are a cause-and-effect test and interview guide. The result show that the average error in understanding the essential concepts, the errors in understanding the relationship between concepts, and the errors in understanding the use of concepts to solve problems are 38%, 28%, and 25% respectively. The student is wrong in understanding the concept of change of being, unable to determine the physical and chemical properties, physical changes and chemical changes, and the characteristics of chemical reactions. Students are wrong in understanding the relationship between the concept of temperature and phase change, the characteristics of objects with physical properties and chemical properties, color changes with chemical reactions, solubility with ionization power. Students are wrong in analyzing the physical and chemical properties of an event, analyzing the physical changes and chemical changes in an event. Errors that students do due to less of attention during the learning process, less of note complete, less of material understanding and less of order in the classroom.Keyword: Form of Error, Substance Changes
