Abstract

AbstractThe aims of this research were to examine the effect of PjBL on student communicating skill. To achieve the aim, twenty nine students were tested before and after learning through PjBL to measure their communicating skill. The form of this research was Pre-Experimental design with the research plan of  single pre-test  and post-test researching. The taking sample technique used in this research was purpose sampling. According to wilcoxon test, probability score was less then 0,05 (p>0,05) which meant there was a significant difference of communicating skills at between student before and after learning to PjBL. According to glass test, effect size score was 0,6 which meant PjBL have largest effect on oral communicating skill. According to glass test, effect size score was 1,1 which meant PjBL have largest effect on oral communicating skill. Based on the calculating of the effect size , the applying of PjBL  model was  highly effect the student’s communicating skills  of  VII grade students  at SMP Negeri 12 Pontianak. Keywords: Project Based Learning, Communicating Ability, Separation Methods

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to determine the feasibility of Chemistry Puzzle (Chempuz) on the nomenclature of chemical compounds, and describe the responses of teachers and students in SMA Negeri 10 Pontianak towards the developed Chempuz. This research is a research and development (R&D) model with ADDIE. The subject of this study was Chempuz, which was tested on grade XI students and chemistry teachers at SMA Negeri 10 Pontianak. The instruments in this study were the feasibility assessment sheet, and the response questionnaire. The results of data processing showed that Chempuz obtained a percentage of 86.7% with the category very feasible in terms of material, language, graphic and media aspects. Based on the calculation results of questionnaire responses of students and teachers categorized very well with the results of 85% and 89.5% respectively. Thus, the results of the study showed that the developed Chempuz was suitable for use as a learning medium for chemical nomenclature material.Keywords: ADDIE, Chemistry Puzzle, Nomenclature of Chemical Compounds.

Abstract

AbstractThe aims of this study were to determine whether there was a significant  difference  of achievement between student who taught using make a match and conventional modelon material of chemical nomenclature and to determine effect size of make a match learning model. The form ofresearch used in thisstudywas nonequivalent control group design. All X.IPA classes of  SMAN 1 Sungai Raya were taken as research population. From that population, two classes were chosen through purposive sampling technique. Samples in this study were X.IPA 1 class as control  class and the X.IPA 5 class as exsperimental class.These classes were chosen based on their atomic structure score in which the selection of experimental class due to its linear score than control class. Achievement test, interview guidelines and observation sheet were used asa data collection. Based on U-mann whitney test, there was a significant difference of achievement between students who taught using make a match and conventional model.According to calculation using cohen formula, the effect size of make a match learning model was 1,011 which was inzone of desire effect. Keywords: Cooperative learning,  Make a match type, Chemical nomenclature

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan perbedaan motivasi dan hasil belajar antara siswa yang diajar menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) dan metode konvensional serta besarnya pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TAI terhadap hasil belajar materi ikatan kimia kelas X di SMA Santo Fransiskus Asisi Pontianak. Penelitian ini adalah eksperimen semu dengan rancangan nonequivalent control group design. Sampel penelitian adalah kelas X E  sebagai kelas kontrol dan kelas X D sebagai kelas eksperimen yang diperoleh dengan teknik purpossive sampling. Motivasi siswa dianalisis menggunakan Independent Samples T-test dan hasil belajar menggunakan U-Mann Whitney. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan motivasi dan  hasil belajar antara siswa yang diajar menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TAI dan metode konvensional. Pembelajaran model kooperatif tipe TAI memberikan pengaruh sebesar 15,91 % terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar siswa. Kata kunci: Team Assisted Individualization, Ikatan Kimia Abstract: The purposes of this research were to determine differences of motivation and learning outcomes between students taught using TAI Cooperative learning model and conventional method and effect of applying TPS Cooperative learning model toward learning outcomes on chemical bond materials of X Grade of St. Francis of Assisi Pontianak students. Quasi-experimental with nonequivalent control group design was used as research method. The samples were X E students as control class and X D as experimental class. Those samples were determined with purpossive sampling technique. Motivations and learning outcome of students were analyzed using Independent Samples T-test and U-Mann Whitney test. The result of data analysis showed that there were differences of motivation and learning outcomes between students taught using TAI cooperatif learning model and conventional method. TAI Cooperative learning model gave 15,91% effect  on increasing students learning outcomes. Keyword: Team Assisted Individualization, Chemical Bond

Abstract

Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menentukan pengaruh strategi REACT terhadap hasil belajar siswa SMA Negeri 5 pada materi larutan penyangga. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu dengan rancangan penelitian Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IPA 3 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas XI IPA 4 sebagai kelas kontrol yang diperoleh dengan teknik cluster random sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan tes hasil belajar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata skor posttest kelas kontrol adalah 38,52 dan rata-rata skor posttest kelas eksperimen adalah 52,78. Berdasarkan  uji U-Mann Whitney, diperoleh Asymp.Sig (2-tailed) = 0,000 yang berarti terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar antara siswa kelas kontrol dan siswa kelas eksperimen pada materi larutan penyangga. Hasil dari perhitungan effect size adalah 1,3 yang berarti strategi REACT memberikan pengaruh yang besar terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar siswa.   Kata Kunci: Strategi REACT, Hasil Belajar, Larutan Penyangga   Abstract: The Purpose of this study was to determine the effect of REACT strategy toward learning outcome of SMA Negeri 5 Pontianak students on buffer solution material. The study was quasi-experimental with the study design was nonequivalent control group design. The study samples were the students of XI grade of IPA 3 as experimental class and XI grade of IPA 4 as control class that was determined by cluster random sampling technique. Data were collected by using learning outcome test. The results of the study showed that the average score of posttest control group was 38.52 and the average score of posttest experimental class was 52.78. According to U-Mann Whitney test, Asymp.Sig (2-tailed) was 0.000 which meant that there was a difference in learning outcome between the control class and experimental class students on buffer solution material. The result of the calculation of effect size was 1.3, which meant REACT strategy provided a major influence on improving student learning outcome.   Keywords: REACT Strategy, Learning Outcome, Buffer Solution

Abstract

AbstractThe aimof this study is to improve activity and achievement of students of Madrasah Aliah (MA) Alhabib Sholeh convey electrolyte solution and non electrolyte through experiment method. To this, observation and achievement test used as data collection tools. The participants of this study were 26 students of X B class. The instruments used in this research were the observation sheet and learning achievement test.The results showed that the application of the assignment methods can increase the percentage of students with learning activities of 30,76% in cycle 1 becomes 57,69% in cycle II. The results of the study showed an increase in the percentage of students from 34,61% in cycle 1 becomes 69,23% in cycle II. The increase in activities that occur from cycle 1 to cycle II of 26,93% and improved learning achivement that occur from cycle 1 to cycle II of 34,62%. In conclusion, experiment method is able to improve activity and achievement of students. Keywords: learning activities, practical methods, and the results of the study.

Abstract

Abstract                                                                                                                                The aim of this study was to describe psychomotor skill of students in acid-base titration practicum. The subjects of this study were students of  class XI IPA 1 in academic year 2017/2018 consisting of 40 students. The form of this research was a descriptive study. The data were collected through direct observation and direct communication technique. The research procedure consists of the preparation, implementation and final stages. Preparation stage consist of direct observation, problem identification, problem formulation, proposal preparation, designing research instruments in the form of practicum observation sheets and LKS, instrument validation, and instrument revisions. Implementation stage consist of acid-base titration practicum and psychomotor skills assessment. Final stage consist of calculating the total psychomotor skills score of students, changing the score into the expected percentage, determining the category of students psychomotor skills, conducting interviews to find students problems during the practicum, describing students psychomotor skills. Based on the results of psychomotor analysis in acid-base titration practicum, the average psychomotor skills of students were 85.6% which was categorized as very good.  Keywords: Psychomotor skills, titration, acid-base

Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this study was to describe the student?s conceptual understanding on the material of element, compound and mixture in grade VII of  SMP Negeri 4 Sungai Raya. A descriptive method was employed in this study. As many as 35 students participated as the subject. Essay test and interview guidelines were used to collect data. According to data analysis the average of student?s conceptual understanding was 34,28 % which categorized as poor. The percentage of student?s understanding in (1) the element concept was 55 % (2) the compound concept was 41,42 %; (3) the mixture concept was 53,57 %; (4) the properties of the metal element concept was 82,86 %; (5) the homogeneous mixture concept was 11,43 %; (6) the heterogeneous mixture concept was 12,86 %; (7) the colloid concept was 33,57 %; (8) the suspension concept was 14,28 %; (9) the element symbol concept was 27,86 %; and (10) nomenclature binary compounds concept was 1,9 %.Keywords: conceptual understanding, element, compound, mixture

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan motivasi dan hasil belajar siswa terhadap pembelajaran menggunakan strategi pembelajaran Card Sort dengan strategi pembelajaran konvensional pada materi koloid kelas XI SMAN 10 Pontianak. Bentuk penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen semu (Quasi Exsperimental Design) dengan rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah “Nonequivalent Control Group Design”. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas XI IPA 2 sebagai kelas kontrol dan XI IPA 1 sebagai kelas eksperimen yang diperoleh dengan teknik  Purposive Sampling. Tes hasil belajar dan angket motivasi siswa digunakan sebagai alat pengumpul data. Berdasarkan analisis data posttest dan angket motivasi belajar siswa dengan menggunakan uji U Mann Whitney (α = 5%) diperoleh nilai Asymp.Sig(2-tailed) sebesar 0,000 dan 0,000. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar dan motivasi belajar antara siswa yang diberi pembelajaran  menggunakan strategi pembelajaran Card Sort dengan siswa yang diberi pembelajaran  menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional. Pembelajaran  menggunakan  strategi  pembelajaran Card Sort pada materi koloid di SMAN 10 Pontianak memberikan pengaruh sebesar 34,38 % dengan kategori tinggi terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar siswa. Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini betujuan untuk: 1) menentukan ada tidaknya perbedaan sikap ilmiah dan hasil belajar siswa yang menggunakan model pembelajaran inkuiri metode praktikum dengan siswa yang menggunakan model konvensional metode praktikum, 2) mengetahui besarnya pengaruh model inkuiri metode praktikum terhadap sikap ilmiah dan hasil belajar siswa kelas XI IPA  SMA Negeri 9 Pontianak. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen semu dengan rancangan “Nonequivalen Control Group”. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IPA 1 dan XI IPA 3. Nilai rata-rata hasil belajar siswa kelas eskperimen sebesar 88,4 lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol yaitu 78,5. Persentase sikap ilmiah kelas eksperimen sebesar 90,67% dan pada kelas kontrol sebesar 62,77%. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar dan sikap ilmiah siswa kelas eksperimen dan kontrol dengan nilai p-value=0,000 < 0,05. Perhitungan effect size model inkuiri metode praktikum diperoleh nilai 1,53 untuk hasil belajar dan 1,55 untuk sikap ilmiah dengan kategori tinggi. Kata kunci : model inkuiri metode praktikum, sikap ilmiah, hasil belajar Absract: This research aims to: 1) determine whether there is difference in scientific attitudes and students achievement who were taught using inquiry learning model with a practical method and students who were taught using conventional model with practical method, 2) determine the influence of inquiry model with a practical method to the scientific attitude and student achievement in class XI IPA SMAN 9 Pontianak. The method used in this research is a quasi-experimental with "Nonequivalen Control Group” design. The research samples were student of class XI IPA 1 and XI IPA 3. The average value of student achievement experimentation grade of 88.4 was higher than the control class that is 78.5. Percentage scientific attitude in the experimental class amounted to 90.67% and the control class amounted to 62.77%. The results of data analysis showed that there are differences in student achievement and scientific attitude student in experimental class and control class with a p-value = 0.000 <0.05. Effect size calculation in inquiry learning model with a practical method value earned was​​ 1.53 for the students achievement and 1.55 for the scientific attitude with high category.
