Abstract

BACKGROUND According to the WHO Target Product Profiles for COVID-19 Vaccines, vaccine development should be indicated for active immunization in all populations, in conjunction with other control measures to curtail the pandemic. Several RBD-based COVID-19 vaccines are being evaluated and have shown advantages. CoV2-Bio was developed based on the wild-type SARS-CoV-2 RBD amino acid sequence, representing residues of the spike protein of the Wuhan-Hu-1 isolate. This study aimed to evaluate the safety and immunogenicity of CoV2-Bio when compared to CoronaVac. METHODS This was an observer-blinded, randomized controlled prospective study of safety and immunogenicity of the CoV2-Bio in healthy adult population. A total of 54 healthy participants were randomized to receive either 3 doses of CoV2-Bio or 2 doses of CoronaVac, and 1 dose of placebo, administered 28 days apart. Participants were followed up for safety and immunogenicity. IgG antibody titers (ELISA) and neutralization assay against Wuhan and Delta strains were evaluated at baseline, Days 28, 56, and 84. We assessed seropositive rate, seroconversion, and GMT as parameters. RESULTS Both vaccines were well tolerated and induced good antibody response. The incidence rate and intensity of local and systemic adverse events did not differ between vaccine and control groups. The vaccine group showed a larger proportion of seroconversion (4-fold increase antibody) (87.5% versus 46.2%, p = 0.001) and higher GMT (305.9 AU/ml versus 102.4 AU/ml, p<0.001) when compared to control group. CONCLUSIONS 3 doses of the CoV2-Bio are safe and immunogenic in healthy adult population. 3 doses of the CoV2-Bio COVID-19 vaccine produce a better immunogenicity profile compared to CoronaVac.

Abstract

This study examines the Games of New Emerging Forces (GANEFO) as a dynamic sporting event. It examines and analyzes that GANEFO is not just an international sporting event, but also a product of foreign political competition and a contest of diplomatic relations between foreign countries. This study uses a historical research method. The implementation of GANEFO in November 1963 is often associated with international political practices after World War II. The feud between the Western Bloc and the Eastern Bloc triggered the holding of the Asia Africa Conference. The spirit of the Non-Aligned Movement was adopted by Indonesia to mobilize other countries to participate in GANEFO. In addition, the influence of the PRC as an exponent of a communist state also played an important role in the success of GANEFO in Jakarta. At the national level, the long feud between Soekarno, political parties, and the military elite also encouraged the implementation of GANEFO during the Guided Democracy era. Competition between domestic camps triggered Soekarno to try to take a superior position by organizing an international-scale sporting event. This method was used by Soekarno to attract public sympathy while simultaneously dwarfing the position of his domestic competitors. Thus, holding sports competitions can be used as an instrument to untangle the complexities of diplomatic relations and domestic political disputes.

Abstract

Tour de Borobudur is a cycling sport tourism activity held in Central Java. This study aims to analyze the role of organizing the Tour de Borobudur for the Host City from the government’s perspective, both in terms of economic growth and social legacy. The research method used is descriptive quantitative, using an analytical approach and collecting questionnaire data and interviews with ten respondents from relevant government stakeholders. 90.19% (n=3.6) of informants responded positively, meaning the government regarded an economic increase from organizing the Tour de Borobudur. Promoting local potential, increasing micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and rising regional retribution revenue have multiplier effects on the economic sector. Also, 90% (n=3.6) of informants responded positively that these activities can influence social legacies, such as increasing interest in cycling sports and improving communication skills, hospitality & tourist management, and increasing the human side of the community. The government plays a role as a facilitator by providing venues, providing budgets, providing security personnel, and becoming participants or just supporters of Tour de Borobudur. The government considers organizing this competition as a medium for developing sports tourism and increasing regional income through sports tourism.

Abstract

Background: Big Data Analytics (BDA) is urgently needed in Indonesian sports to improve evidence-based decision-making, athlete development, and organizational management. While BDA has transformed global sports through data-driven insights, its application in Indonesia remains limited and fragmented. The absence of integrated analytics between athlete performance and organizational quality management hinders the creation of sustainable, long-term development systems. Aims: This study investigates how BDA can enhance athlete development and organizational management by analyzing multidimensional data from athletes, coaches, referees, and sports infrastructures. It also aims to identify dominant predictors of athlete performance across various sports and to evaluate the quality management practices of the National Sports Committee of Indonesia (NSCI). Methods: A mixed-methods sequential explanatory design was applied. The quantitative phase involved 67 athletes from six sports: football, table tennis, weightlifting, pencak silat, basketball, and karate at the Sport Training Center. Data on anthropometry, fitness, and achievements were analyzed using descriptive statistics, ANOVA, Chi-Square, and regression tests. The qualitative phase involved interviews and observations with 8–12 stakeholders, while organizational quality was assessed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank test. Result: Results revealed significant performance differences among sports (F = 4.927, p = 0.001). Each sport had unique dominant predictors: VO₂ max and anthropometry (soccer), agility (table tennis), muscle strength (weightlifting), endurance and height (basketball), and speed (karate). NSCI’s organizational analysis showed substantial deficiencies in management, facilities, and procedures (p < 0.001). Conclusion: This study confirms that BDA is crucial in advancing sustainable sports development. By identifying sport-specific performance predictors and systemic weaknesses, BDA provides a scientific foundation for designing targeted training, improving organizational quality, and building adaptive, data-driven sports ecosystems in Indonesia. The findings highlight the urgent need for national sports bodies to institutionalize BDA as part of long-term strategic planning.
