Abstract

The availability of pineapple seedlings in the field is a problem in the development of Smooth cayenne pineapple because of limited sources of planting material compared to the other types. Effort that can be done to solve the problem is to use the method of crown leaf-bud cutting. Propagation of pineapple (Ananas comosus L) with the method of crown leaf-bud cutting is not optimum so it can be optimized; one of them is by giving the duration of storage treatment and application of plant-growth regulators. The experiment was aimed to study the effect of crown storage duration and plant growth regulators on the growth of pineapple seedlings. The experiment was arranged in a nested plot design. Duration of crown storage for 2 (control), 10, and 20 days in room conditions at a temperature of 29-35°C and humidity of 46-70% as the main plot. The subplot was combination of indole-3-butyric acid (IBA) and 6-benzylaminopurine (BAP) with the concentrations: IBA 300 ppm and BAP 400 ppm, IBA 300 ppm and BAP 600 ppm, IBA 400 ppm and BAP 400 ppm, as well as IBA 400 ppm and BAP 600 ppm. The results of the experiment showed that the leaf-bud cuttings which stored for 10 days 57.34% were survived, 57.15% were sprouted, and 51.62% were rooted, while the control that survived, sprouted, and rooted did not reach more than 30%. The content of endogenous ABA in the crown leaf-bud shoots decreased significantly after being stored for 10 and 20 days, while the contents of endogenous auxins and cytokines were not different from the controls. Application of IBA 400 ppm combined with BAP 400 and 600 ppm increased the percentages of survived and sprouted cutting 1.5-1.7 times compared to control. Abstract

Infeksi cendawan patogen pada jagung bisa terjadi secara langsung atau melalui benihnya. Selain itu, cendawan patogen pada benih yang tumbuh dapat menyebabkan penyakit selama perkecambahan atau pada tanaman dewasa, yang berdampak pada penurunan hasil produksi. Sehingga perlu inovasi dalam pengendalian patogen terbawa benih salah satunya dengan menggunakan gelombang mikro. Gelombang mikro mencakup frekuensi antara 300 MHz dan 300 GHz dalam spektrum gelombang elektromagnetik, yang diterapkan dalam teknologi sterilisasi melalui prinsip pemanasan dielektrik. Aplikasi praktis gelombang mikro pada benih meliputi pengendalian patogen terbawa benih dan pemeliharaan mutu fisiologis benih. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas gelombang mikro dalam sterilisasi benih serta pengaruhnya terhadap kualitas fisiologis benih jagung manis. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan November 2015 dengan menggunakan metode rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dua faktor dengan empat ulangan. Faktor pertama adalah kondisi benih, yang terdiri dari empat kategori: benih baru dengan kadar air rendah, benih baru dengan kadar air tinggi, benih lama dengan kadar air rendah, dan benih lama dengan kadar air tinggi. Faktor kedua adalah durasi pemanasan dengan gelombang mikro, yang terdiri dari lima perlakuan: 0, 10, 20, 30, dan 40 detik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemanasan benih jagung menggunakan gelombang mikro menghasilkan efek yang bervariasi terhadap viabilitas benih. Selain itu, penggunaan gelombang mikro belum berhasil menekan pertumbuhan cendawan pada benih jagung, karena masih banyak cendawan yang tumbuh saat benih dikecambahkan. Abstract

The productivity of oil palm is determined by the use of high-quality seedlings that have good growth potential, appearance, and the ability to grow in various environmental conditions. To obtain good oil palm seedlings, attention must be paid to the planting media used. The objective of this research was to determine the appropriate composition of planting media, consisting of Ultisols subsoil, compost, and vermicompost, for oil palm seedlings in the pre-nursery stage. This study was conducted from January to April 2023, used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with a single factor consisting of 10 treatments, which are 100% Ultisols subsoil, 80% Ultisols subsoil + 20% mexican sunflower compost, 80% Ultisols subsoil + 20% vermicompost, 60% Ultisols subsoil + 20% mexican sunflower compost + 20% vermicompost, 60% Ultisols subsoil + 10% mexican sunflower compost + 30% vermicompost, 60% Ultisols subsoil + 30% mexican sunflower compost + 10% vermicompost, 60% Ultisols subsoil + 40% mexican sunflower compost 60% Ultisols subsoil + 40% vermicompost, 50% Ultisols subsoil + 50% mexican sunflower compost, 50% Ultisols subsoil + 50% vermicompost. The research results showed that the composition of 60% Ultisols subsoil + 40% vermicompost provided the best growth for oil palm seedlings in the pre-nursery stage, as evidenced by seedling growth parameters such as plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, root volume, root dry weight, crown dry weight, and plant dry weight Keyword: mexican sunflower compost, pre nursery, ultisols subosil, vermicompost.

Abstract

Tantangan utama terdapat di Desa Rindu Hati adalah IPTEKS pembibitan buah-buahan permanen dan menghijaukan lokasi Glamping Rindu Hati. Konservasi plasma nutfah buah-buahan khususnya alpukat lokal adalah salah satu solusi yang ditawarkan. Unit usaha baru BumDes Duitei Mandiri perlu diinisiasi dengan memanfaatkan sumberdaya lokal dan kerjasama lintas institusi (Tim PPM UNIB-BPDAS Ketahun dan BumDes Duitei Mandiri. Usulan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PPM) berbasis IPTEKS berupa sosialisasi/penyuluhan tentang penghijauan bantaran hulu sungai, dan konservasi plasma nutfah. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan informasi,memotivasi dan meningkatkan pengetahuan pengelola BumDes agar dapat bersikap dan praktek memberikan solusi tantangan yang ada. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan mulai 15 Mei sampai 20 September 2024, dengan topik khususnya adalah Penghijauan Kawasan Kampung Wisata Glamping Rinduhati dan Inisiasi Sentra Plasma Nutfah Alpukat (Persea americana) Lokal Bengkulu. Luaran kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah Publikasi di Jurnal PPM, Berita di Media Massa Radar Utara, HKI dan IA (Implementation Agrimeent) antara Fakultas Pertanian UNIB dengan Dinas Ketahanan Pangan dan Perikanan Bengkulu Tengah.
