Abstract

Abstract This study aimed to obtain information about the social control model for the violation of school discipline in SMA Negeri 8 Pontianak. This study is a descriptive with the qualitative approach. The location of this study is SMA Negeri 8 Pontianak. Sources of data in this study is the principal, three teachers and four students. Data obtained through in-depth interviews, observation and documentation. Data analysis was performed through the third flow of activities of data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. Data validity checking is done through triangulation, member check and perform detailed description. The results of data analysis concluded: (1) The purpose of social control for the violation of school discipline in SMA 8 Pontianak is combined goal which is to prevent the violation of school discipline while restoring irregularities that are not in accordance with the rules of school discipline (repressive), (2) The way of social control for the violation of school discipline in SMA 8 Pontianak using persuasive non-violent approach and be formal and informal, (3) The pattern of social control for the violation of school discipline in SMA 8 Pontianak dominant group to its members. While other patterns are used based on the needs or problems of social deviations that occur.   Keywords: Social control, violation, school discipline

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether these students have mastered the learning material that has been taught is by increasing students' learning achievement in sociology, where the facts on the ground show that student achievement in sociology subjects is still low. Thus, the teacher took the initiative to use a learning model that is not commonly used in the classroom, namely using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model. Methods in this study Approach This research uses a quantitative qualitative approach. The instruments in this study were test questions, slow observation, interview guides, and questionnaires. After using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) Model for students of class XI MIPA 4 SMA Negeri 8 Pontianak, the learning achievement of most students in learning increased. This is known from students who are far more students listening to the material presented by the teacher, seem enthusiastic in participating in sociology learning material on social problems and their impact on people's lives, expressing their opinions, asking about things that are not known, and working in groups with other friends. . In addition, it can be seen from the results of observations that show a score of 60. This means that the activity of students in the class is quite good. The results of observations in cycle 1 showed a score of 119. This means that the activity of students in the class is quite good. However, in order to be more conducive to learning sociology of social change material and its impact on people's lives, the researcher wants to carry out the second cycle, the observations show a score of 153. This means that the activity of students in the classroom is very good.

Abstract

This article discusses the professional education program for teachers as educators and teaching staff in order to improve the quality of education and the efforts made to increase this professionalism. This article aims to present the results of the evaluation in the implementation of practical field experience (PPL) 1 for prospective teachers in the 2nd batch of Pre-service PPG students in 2023 at SMA Negeri 8 Pontianak which focuses on the experiences, challenges and results of these activities. This research uses a descriptive method qualitative with observation, interviews and documentation instruments. The findings from this research show that the implementation of PPL 1 for Pre-Service PPG students, batch 2 in 2023 at SMA Negeri 8 Pontianak went well and resulted in a variety of experiences for prospective teachers. PPL 1 activities at SMA Negeri 8 Pontianak will be held from January 15 2024 to March 5 2024. These activities include orientation, observation, teaching assistance, guided learning practices. The results found from this activity were the challenges faced including coordination between educational institutions and partner schools, as well as adaptation obstacles experienced by PPG Pre-service students to the new environment. However, the evaluation results show that the majority of prospective teachers felt a positive impact from this experience and increased their understanding of the professional world as a teacher. In conclusion, the implementation of PPL 1 for PPG Pre-service students in batch 2 in 2023 at SMA Negeri 8 Pontianak made a positive contribution in preparation prospective teachers to face their future duties so that continuous efforts are needed to improve the effectiveness of PPL1 implementation to ensure that prospective teachers are truly prepared to face the demands of their profession.

Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim of increasing students' interest in learning in sociology through the use of interactive learning media Kahoot! in class XII Sociology 3 SMA Negeri 8 Pontianak consisting of 37 students. The obstacles faced include a lack of interest in learning students and boredom in learning sociology. As a solution, the researcher chose to use the interactive media Kahoot! as an effort to increase students' interest in learning. The method used in this study is Classroom Action Research (PTK) which involves several stages, In cycle 1, the use of interactive media in learning was not yet complete, but when tested as an initial form, the results obtained were temporarily positive student responses marked by 42% of students participating in the learning process. So the researcher decided to continue the research to cycle 2. in cycles 2 and 3 each consists of 3 stages of research carried out by the researcher. Namely the planning stage which functions as steps as a procedural guide. Then the implementation stage which functions as the process of implementing interactive media in the form of Kahoot. The last stage is analysis and reflection as a process to review the effectiveness of learning using interactive kahoot! media in the learning system in class XII Sociology 3. Students have shown positive responses to the use of Kahoot! and find it interesting and fun. It can be concluded that the use of interactive learning media Kahoot! effective in increasing students' interest in learning in sociology. Based on the results of analysis and reflection in cycle 3 of the research, as many as 94% of students showed enthusiasm to participate in learning. This media is able to create a fun learning experience and reduce student boredom. It is recommended that sociology teachers consider using interactive media such as Kahoot! as an alternative strategy in increasing students' understanding and interest in learning in sociology subjects.
