Abstract

Ordo Squamata terdiri atas kelompok ular, kadal dan kadal cacing. Anggota ordo ini merupakan yang terbanyak dalam kelas Reptilia. Kelompok ular dan kadal memiliki keunikan bentuk dan corak sisik yang indah sehingga kedua hewan ini banyak diperdagangkan di beberapa kota besar di Indonesia. Perdagangan hewan reptil tersebut dapat ditemukan juga di kota Surabaya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi spesies reptilia anggota ordo Squamata yang diperdagangkan secara bebas di wilayah Surabaya dan mendeskripsikan status konservasi reptilia anggota ordo Squamata yang diperdagangkan secara bebas di wilayah Surabaya. Metode penelitian yang dilakukan adalah observasi langsung dan wawancara. Observasi dilakukan di tiga pasar hewan di Surabaya antara lain: Pasar Bratang, Pasar Burung Kupang, dan Pasar Gunung Sari. Wawancara dilakukan dengan pedagang dan kolektor untuk memperoleh data tambahan tentang ordo Squamata yang diperdagangkan. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil yang diperoleh yaitu sebanyak 17 jenis reptilia ordo Squamata yang diperdagangkan di Surabaya. Status konservasi ketujuh belas reptilia tersebut ditinjau dari IUCN Red List yaitu: Least Concern (LC), Vulnerable (Vu),  Near Threatened (NT), dan Not Evaluated (NE). Ditinjau CITES terdiri atas 10 jenis statusnya Appendiks II dan 7 lainnya memiliki status konservasi Not Listed. Berdasarkan PP RI No.7/1999 status konservasi tujuh belas reptilia anggota ordo Squamata tersebut terdiri atas 16 jenis yang tidak dilindungi dan terdapat 1 jenis yang dilindungi. Squamata consist of snakes, lizards, and warm lizards. Member of this order is the most number in Reptilian classis. Snakes and lizards have unique type and attractive scale until both of this animals traded freely in some big city in Indonesia. This reptilian trade also occours in Surabaya. The purposes of this study were to identify species from member of Order Squamata which counted on animal trade in Surabaya and to describe  the status of conservation from Reptilian classis member of Order Squamata, which counted on animal trade in Surabaya. This study used two method, there were observation and interview. Observation took place in tree different animal markets, there were Bratang Market, Kupang Birds Market, and Gunung Sari Market. Interview hold with animal trader and animal collector for collecting additional information about animal trade from Squamata Ordo. Data were analyzed descriptively. Result of this study showed that 17 species of Squamata traded freely in Surabaya. The status of conservation of those, seventeenth animals, based on IUCN Red List are Least Concern (LC), Vulnerable (Vu), Near Threatened (NT), dan Not Evaluated (NE). Based on CITES, the status of conservation from Reptilian classis member of Squamata Ordo which counted on animal trade in Surabaya consist of Appendix II and not listed category. Based on Government Regulation Number 7 Year 1999, the status of conservation of those reptiles were one protected animal and 16 unprotected animals.

Abstract

Materi Ekosistem merupakan salah satu materi yang bersifat kontekstual. Untuk memfasilitasi pembelajaran kontekstual, diperlukan bahan ajar yang membimbing siswa mengintegrasikan materi dengan kehidupan sehari-hari. Lembar Kegiatan Siswa (LKS) yang berbasis pendekatan SETS(Science, Environment, Technology, and Society) yang memiliki aspek lengkap, yaitu pengetahuan, lingkungan, teknologi dan masyarakat, yang dapat membantu siswa berpikir komprehensif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan LKS Ekosistem Mangrove berbasis SETS pada materi ekosistem yang valid berdasarkan hasil penilaian validitas dari dosen ahli dan guru biologi. Jenis Penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan, yaitu mengembangkan LKS menggunakan model 4D. Tahapan model pengembangan ini adalah define (pendefinisian), design (perencanaan), develop (pengembangan) dan disseminate (penyebaran), namun penelitian ini hanya sampai tahap develop. Hasil nilai validasi yang diperoleh mencapai rata-rata 3,52 dan termasuk dalam kategori valid sehingga LKS yang dikembangkan dapat digunakan dalam pembelajaran. Abstract

Ikan lidah merupakan ikan ekonomis penting yang menjadi salah satu komoditas yang diperdagangkan di Tempat Pelelangan Ikan (TPI) Muara Angke. Ikan lidah memiliki keunikan karena metamorfosis mereka, kebiasaan membenamkan diri dalam substrat dan sirip pektoralnya yang terdegradasi sedangkan sirip lainnya saling bertemu. Terdapat enam spesies ikan lidah dari famili Cynoglossidae yang dapat ditemukan di Indonesia, sedangkan penelitian terkait identifikasi ikan lidah masih terbatas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan memastikan spesies ikan lidah yang diperdagangkan di TPI Muara Angke berdasarkan pengukuran morfometrik dan DNA Barcoding menggunakan sekuen COI. Hasil analisis morfologi menggunakan literatur menunjukkan bahwa ikan lidah sampel memiliki kemiripan karakteristik morfologi dengan Cynoglossus lingua dan Cynoglossus arel yang kemudian diyakini sebagai C. arel berdasarkan ciri diagnostiknya. Berdasarkan analisis DNA barcoding diperoleh spesies Cynoglossus cf. arel dengan identifikasi kesamaan 100% yang tercantum dalam GenBank. Dari hasil analisis morfologi dan DNA barcoding menunjukkan bahwa ikan lidah yang diperdagangkan di TPI Muara Angke merupakan ikan dari famili Cynoglossidae, genus Cynoglossus, spesies Cynoglossus arel.Tongue Fish Identification Traded in Muara Angke Fish Auction Based on Morphometric and DNA Barcoding Using COI Sequences. Tongue fish is an important economical fish which is one of the commodities traded at Muara Angke Fish Auction. Tongue fish are unique because of their metamorphosis, their habit of immersing themselves in the substrate, and their pectoral fins degraded while the other three fins are confluent. There are six species of tongue fish from the Cynoglossidae family that can be found in Indonesia, whereas the study about tongue fish identifications are limited. The present study aims to identify and clarify the species of tongue fish traded at Muara Angke Fish Auction based on morphometric measurements and DNA Barcoding using the COI sequence. The results of the morphological analysis using the literature showed that the tongue fish samples had similar morphological characteristics with Cynoglossus lingua and Cynoglossus arel which were then believed to be C. arel based on their diagnostic characteristics. DNA barcoding analysis of tongue fish sample shows Cynoglossus cf. arel with 100% similarity identification listed in GenBank. From the results of morphological analysis and DNA barcoding showed that the tongue fish traded at TPI Muara Angke are fish from the family Cynoglossidae, genus Cynoglossus, species of Cynoglossus arel.

Abstract

Land cover changes in the Pangandaran Coastal area are significantly influenced by tourism attractions as well as geographic and socio-economic dynamics. As one of the main coastal tourism destinations in West Java, Pangandaran receives more than 3.5 million tourists annually, which puts significant pressure on the coastal environment. This study uses land cover data from 2017–2023 analyzed using a regression and GIS approach, this study identifies spatial and temporal patterns of urban expansion and their implications for environmental sustainability. The results show that urbanization in Pangandaran is concentrated in the coastal lowlands, especially in Pangandaran and Sidamulih Districts, increasing vulnerability to natural disasters such as tsunamis. This expansion is triggered by the need for tourism infrastructure that often sacrifices natural ecosystems such as mangroves and coastal forests. In Cimerak and Parigi Districts, changes are more influenced by industrial and agro-industrial development, while growth in Cijulang is hampered by karst topography which is less supportive of urban development. Meanwhile, Kalipucang remains relatively natural due to geographic limitations that limit urban expansion. This study emphasizes the importance of sustainable coastal management, including adaptive spatial planning, conservation of critical ecosystems, and community-based initiatives to mitigate risks posed by unplanned urban expansion. The results of this study provide important insights for policymakers to balance tourism-based development with environmental resilience in the coastal area of Pangandaran.

Abstract

Terumbu karang, ekosistem laut yang sangat produktif namun rentan, menghadapi ancaman parah dari perubahan iklim, terutama pemutihan karang akibat peningkatan suhu laut dan pengasaman. Konservasi konvensional tidak lagi memadai, sehingga diperlukan pendekatan inovatif seperti evolusi terbantu (assisted evolution) untuk mempercepat adaptasi karang. Literatur review ini membahas dua strategi inti evolusi terbantu: pemuliaan selektif (selective breeding) dan manipulasi holobion (meliputi manipulasi simbion dan mikrobioma). Pemuliaan selektif melibatkan persilangan karang toleran stres untuk menghasilkan keturunan yang tangguh, sementara manipulasi holobion berfokus pada rekayasa komunitas alga simbion (Symbiodiniaceae) dan mikrobioma bakteri untuk meningkatkan ketahanan. Meskipun masih dalam tahap pengembangan, studi awal menunjukkan hasil yang menjanjikan dalam meningkatkan kelangsungan hidup karang. Dalam konteks Indonesia, yang kaya akan keanekaragaman hayati laut, terdapat potensi besar untuk penerapan evolusi terbantu. Inisiatif seperti lokakarya toleransi termal dan program restorasi skala besar menunjukkan kesiapan, meskipun sebagian besar upaya restorasi masih konvensional. Untuk memajukan pendekatan ini, diperlukan studi percontohan lokal, pengumpulan data genetik yang komprehensif, keterlibatan masyarakat, dan kerangka regulasi yang mendukung. Dengan demikian, Indonesia dapat menjadi pemimpin regional dalam penelitian dan aplikasi evolusi terbantu untuk memastikan masa depan terumbu karang yang lebih tangguh.
