Abstract

The addition of asynchronous learning hours in e-learning can cause students to have to understand large amounts of material. So that it can be a cognitive burden for students. The purpose of this study was to describe the cognitive load of students during online learning in the subject of vertebrate diversity and classification, especially on the structure of Pisces and amphibians. The research method used in this study was quantitative descriptive by examining the ability to receive and process information, mental effort and the learning outcomes of 46 students of the Biology Education Study Program at Pakuan University. The instrument used in the study was to measure the ability to receive and process information through a test in the form of a task complexity worsheet. Mental effort was measured through a questionnaire (Likert scale) with a range of 1-5. Learning outcomes were measured in the form of an essay test. The results obtained that the learning activities carried out have the characteristics of a high cognitive load component. The high cognitive load obtained by students is seen from the high mental effort and the high intrinsic load possessed by students, so that it has an impact on the learning outcomes obtained.

Abstract

This study is based on students’ inability to solve problems in psychotropic material, which is caused by students' low reasoning power and tendency to memorize the material. To address these issues, consider using PBL-based e-pocket book media used for this study. The purpose of this study is to develop e-pocket book media based on PBL that are feasible, practical, and effective in improving students' problem-solving skills and motivating them to learn. The research was conducted in November 2022 - May 2023. The RnD research method was used in conjunction with the ADDIE development design. Interview guidelines, learning observations, expert assessment sheets, teacher and student response questionnaires, and student motivation questionnaires in learning were used to assess learning. The qualitative data analysis was obtained from media and material expert advice, teacher and student response questionnaires, student motivation questionnaires, learning observations, and interviews. The validation result of media experts yielded a quantitative 96% very feasible category while material expert validation yielded a 92% very feasible category. The results of the teacher's response questionnaire were 91%, while the student response was 89% in the very practical category. A questionnaire on student motivation in learning after using e-pocket book media was also obtained by 86%. Furthermore, the results of the independent sample t-test, show the result where Tcount>Ttable. It can be concluded that PBL-based e-pocket book media is very feasible and practical to use in learning and can improve students' problem-solving abilities on psychotropic material and motivate students in learning.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dan pengembangan yang bertujuan untuk mengembangkan, menguji efektivitas, mengidentifikasi respon siswa, serta mengidentifikasi keunggulan dan keterbatasan penggunaan E-Modul biologi terintegrasi nilai keislaman pada materi sistem reproduksi dalam kemampuan pemecahan masalah. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu RnD dengan model pengembangan ADDIE. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMA Swasta Keislaman di Kota Bogor yang ditujukan untuk kelas XI MIPA yang mempelajari materi sistem reproduksi. Sebelum dilakukan ujicoba, produk divalidasi oleh tiga validator ahli yaitu ahli media, materi, dan agama. Penilaian kelayakan oleh ahli media memiliki nilai persentase 93% dengan kriteria sangat layak, penilaian kelayakan oleh ahli materi memiliki nilai persentase 97% dengan kriteria sangat layak, dan kelayakan oleh ahli Agama memiliki nilai persentase 100% dengan kriteria sangat layak. Setelah diujicobakan, dilakukan uji kepraktisan menggunakan angket respon siswa memiliki nilai persentase 90% dengan kriteria sangat praktis. Pengujian efektivitas menggunakan peningkatan hasil belajar siswa memiliki nilai N-gain 0.6 dengan kriteria sedang, artinya penggunaan e-modul sistem reproduksi terintegrasi nilai keislaman cukup efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah. Berdasarkan hasil dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan e-modul sistem reproduksi terintegrasi nilai keislaman layak, praktis, dan efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah serta terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kelas kontrol dan eksperimen.

Abstract

Kemampuan literasi masyarakat Indonesia khususnya kemampuan literasi dan numerasi masih tergolong rendah. Pemicu rendahnya literasi numerasi di Indonesia masih rendah dikarenakan kurang menariknya guru dalam menerapkan model dan media pembelajaran yang dipakai. Program Studi Pendidikan Biologi bekerjasama dengan Program Studi PPG dan MGMP Biologi SMA Kabupaten Bogor mengadakan kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) dalam bentuk Bimtek Literasi dan Numerasi dalam Pembelajaran Biologi bagi Guru-guru Biologi SMA. Tujuan dari kegitan ini yaitu untuk meningkatkan keterampilan dan kompetensi Guru-Guru Biologi SMA Se-Kabupaten Bogor khususnya dalam mengembangkan pembelajaran yang berorientasi pada peningkatan literasi dan numerasi siswa. Sasaran dari kegiatan ini yaitu Guruguru Biologi Tingkat SMA Se-Kabupaten Bogor. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan secara blended sebanyak dua pertemuan, pertemuan pertama dilaksanakan secara luring dan pertemuan kedua dilaksanakan secara daring. Materi kegiatan meliputi : Konsep Literasi dan Numerasi, Implementasi Literasi dan Numerasi dalam Pembelajaran Biologi, Pengembangan Modul Ajar Biologi berbasis literasi dan numerasi, Presentasi Produk dan penguatan. Total kegiatan dilaksanakan sebanyak 32 JP.
