Abstract

Visual media, such as images, plays a crucial role in Indonesian language learning at the early stages (Grades 1 and 2), particularly in the topic of "Hobbies That Become Achievements". Image media can clarify concepts that might be difficult for students to understand, especially in the context of hobbies that have the potential to become achievements. Given the importance of visual understanding in this learning process, it is essential to investigate the effectiveness of image media in enhancing student comprehension and to evaluate any limitations that may arise. This study employs a qualitative approach. Data was collected through direct observation, interviews with teachers, and analysis of student learning documentation before and after the use of image media. The analysis process involved identifying common patterns in students' interactions with image media and its impact on their understanding of the material and student engagement. The findings indicate that the use of image media significantly improves students' understanding of the material about hobbies. Students were able to identify and explain various hobbies that could become achievements more effectively compared to before using image media. Image media also enhances student engagement in the learning process, making it more enjoyable and interactive. However, a limitation was found: image media is restricted in conveying abstract and complex concepts. The proposed solution is that teachers should master the material and appropriate teaching methods to maximize the effectiveness of image media.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of Information and Communication Technology (ICT)-based learning media, specifically the Bamboozle platform, in Indonesian language learning for fifth-grade elementary school students on the topic of intrinsic elements of a story. Bamboozle is an online educational game-based learning media that does not require students to create accounts or use special devices, making it highly suitable for collaborative and interactive learning contexts. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, utilizing observation, interviews, and documentation as data collection methods. Using a qualitative approach, the study involves Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) students as subjects to explore their learning experiences when using Bamboozle integrated with the Discovery Learning model. The results indicate that the use of Bamboozle positively impacts student engagement during the learning process, particularly in aspects of communication, collaboration, and fostering a healthy competitive spirit. This media facilitates the understanding of abstract concepts and increases students' learning motivation through a fun and participatory classroom environment. One of Bamboozle's main advantages is its ability to promote teamwork without the need for complex technological infrastructure. Nevertheless, the study also identifies several challenges, such as the limitation on the number of characters allowed in question creation and the absence of an individual assessment system. These issues present obstacles in objectively evaluating each student’s learning achievements.

Abstract

School regulations constitute binding rules for all members of the school community to support the teaching and learning process. Discipline character education, derived from the term “disciplina,” refers to mental and moral training aimed at fostering obedience to rules based on self-awareness. Discipline offers several benefits, including the development of positive habits, the enhancement of independence, and the cultivation of responsibility. Using a qualitative approach, this study involved students of SDN 1 Sei Rukam 1 as the research subjects in examining the implementation of school regulations in developing discipline character. The findings indicate that the implementation of school regulations in fostering discipline character education at SDN 1 Sei Rukam, Pugaan District, Tabalong Regency, has been carried out effectively. This study is expected to contribute to improving students’ disciplinary attitudes.
