Abstract

Indonesia is renowned for its cultural diversity, with the tradition of gotong royong—symbolizing solidarity and mutual assistance—deeply embedded in its society. This tradition is mirrored in the country's high level of philanthropic activity, making Indonesia the most generous nation globally. This study investigates the relationship between charitable donations and the happiness of Indonesia’s Muslim population, using data from the 2014 Indonesian Family Life Survey (IFLS) wave 5, which represents about 83% of individuals living in 13 out of 33 provinces. The focus on the Muslim population reflects their substantial contribution to Indonesia’s global ranking in generosity. Four control variables—health, education, consumption (food and non-food), and social participation—are included in the analysis, which is conducted using binary logistic regression. The findings indicate that donations have a significant positive impact on the happiness of Muslims in Indonesia. Moreover, three control variables—health, education, and food consumption—also show positive and significant effects, while social participation, despite its theoretical relevance, does not exhibit a significant impact. Although non-food consumption is statistically significant, it presents an odds ratio of 1, suggesting no meaningful influence on happiness.

Abstract

The community service program in Wonosari District, Malang Regency, focuses on training in the management of organic and inorganic waste. This activity is carried out in collaboration with the Malang Waste Bank. The primary objective of the training is to enhance public knowledge about waste management methods and raise awareness of the importance of a clean environment. Based on the identified issues, this program was designed using a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach. The PAR approach emphasizes the empowerment of the community as the primary target of the program. Under the PAR scheme, the implementing team acts as facilitators in the activities. In this program, the team applied the ADDIE method (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The results of the training proved effective, with participants’ average scores increasing from 77.5 during the pre-test to 88.3 in the post-test, indicating a significant improvement in their understanding. Additionally, a satisfaction survey revealed high levels of satisfaction, particularly in the aspects of material completeness, ease of understanding, and interaction with the facilitators. The impact of this training is expected to encourage the community to be more active in managing waste in their own environments, including through the 3R principles (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) introduced during the program. This approach aims to foster a shift in mindset, encouraging the community to view waste as a potential resource rather than mere trash, thereby reducing its negative environmental impact. Overall, this program contributes significantly to building a sustainable culture of environmental care in Wonosari District.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors that influence banking stock prices with large market capitalization, which impact the Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The variables used include macroeconomic variables (interest rates) and company fundamental variables (ROA, PBV, DER). This research is quantitative and explanatory, using purposive sampling on 12 companies listed in the Infobank15 index for the 2019-2023 period. The analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression and classical assumption tests, including normality, multicollinearity, heteroscedasticity tests. The results show that PBV and interest rates have a significant positive effect on banking stock prices, while ROA and DER have no significant effect on banking stock price movements. This study recommends that investors focus more on interest rates and PBV indicators to predict banking stock price movements.
