Abstract

Banking plays an important role in the economy both micro and macro. In addition, it is crucial for a country to have a strong and robust banking system. To realize a strong and robust banking banks need to maintain their efficiency. Therefore, it is necessary to identify the factors that affect efficiency, including asset diversification, risk, bank size and bank liquidity. The novelty of this research is that there is an asset diversification variable. Asset diversification can protect investors from recurring investment cycles and can save from asset failure. The sample of this research are conventional banks with a total of 10 banks that have the largest share of assets in Indonesia. In this study to identify the effect of asset diversification, bank risk, bank size, and bank liquidity on bank efficiency used multiple linear regression analysis methods were used. This study concludes that asset diversification actually reduces bank efficiency. The increased bank risk, the better efficiency. Then, the size of the bank and liquidity have no effect on efficiency. Therefore, banks need to review the diversification strategy, ensure that the risks associated with each asset and portfolio as a whole are well-identified and look for opportunities to automate repetitive processes and reduce overall operational costs. Through this research, we suggest, (i) Banks need to review the diversification strategy that has been implemented. There may be some areas or types of assets that do not fit the risk profile and objectives of the bank, (ii) Banks need to ensure that the risks associated with each asset and portfolio as a whole are well-identified, measured and managed, (iii) Banks need to look for opportunities to automate repetitive processes and reduce overall operational costs.

Abstract

The dual banking system in Indonesia still faces the problem of inadequate capitalization with a high level of leverage. This study aims to analyze the effect of capital structure on bank’s profitability in Dual Banking System in Indonesia. The data analysis method used is panel data regression and difference test on 8 conventional banks and 8 Islamic banks. Panel data regression is intended to identify the influence of capital structure proxied through DER and CAR ratios on profitability (ROA) with control variables of bank size and asset’s growth. The secondary data used is annual report data for the period 2013-2022 sourced from OJK. The estimation results on conventional banking show that the DER and growth variable has a significant positive impact on profitability, while CAR and bank size have no significant influence on profitability. Then, in Islamic banking, DER has a significant negative influence on profitability performance, while CAR and growth have no significant influence on Islamic bank’s profitability performance. Meanwhile, bank size is proven to affect the Islamic bank’s profitability performance. Through a t-test, there is a significant difference in profitability performance and capital structure between the two banking systems in Indonesia.

Abstract

Manufacturing is one sector of the Indonesian economy that is quite important and that draws a lot of interest from investors. Before buying or selling shares, investors should keep an eye on the company's performance to minimize potential risks. The purpose of this study is to ascertain how EPS, ROA, NPM, and DPR affect the share price of manufacturing sector businesses that are listed on the IDX between 2017 and 2023. Previous research yielded varying outcomes since it focused on a single manufacturing subsector. The quantitative research approach is panel data regression analysis. The study's conclusions indicate that whereas EPS and ROA have a considerable impact on stock prices, NPM and DPR do not. The combination of EPS, ROA, NPM, and DPR significantly affects stock price. With these results, it is expected that companies can focus on strategies to increase EPS and ROA to increase investor attractiveness and stock prices.

Abstract

Credit restructuring is an important things for managing credit risk and improving bank financial stability. However, the effect on profitability varies depending on the context and how this process affects credit risk, liquidity risk, and capital adequacy. This research aims to determine how the new policy of Indonesian Financial Accounting Standard 71 (PSAK 71) which regulates Allowance for Impairment Losses (CKPN) helps in supporting optimal credit restructuring, so that the variables analyzed include NPL, LDR, and CAR which affect ROA with credit restructuring as a moderation. The data analysis technique used is Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA). The data used is secondary data from Himbara's financial reports covering data from 2016 to 2023 on a quarterly basis. The research results found that partially NPL and CAR had an effect on ROA while LDR had no effect on ROA. While credit restructuring weakens the influence of NPL and CAR on ROA, credit restructuring strengthens the influence of LDR on ROA. In this research, credit restructuring acts as a pure moderator.

Abstract

This study is based on the importance of enhancing Corporate Value through sound governance practices and strong profitability, while considering the role of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) disclosure as a mediating mechanism. The study aims to analyze the influence of Corporate Governance and Corporate Profitability on Corporate Value, as well as to examine the mediating role of CSR disclosure in these relationships. A quantitative approach was employed using the Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) method, with secondary data obtained from the annual reports of primary dealer banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2016–2023 period. The results show that Corporate Governance has a significant positive effect on CSR disclosure, while Corporate Profitability has no significant effect. However, neither Corporate Governance nor CSR disclosure has a significant effect on Corporate Value. In contrast, Corporate Profitability has a significant positive effect on Corporate Value. Furthermore, CSR disclosure does not mediate the relationship between either Corporate Governance or Corporate Profitability and Corporate Value. These findings imply that profitability remains the main factor considered by investors in assessing firm value, while CSR is not yet perceived as a value-driving factor in the banking sector.
