Abstract

Sampah merupakan salah satu biomassa yang merupakan sumber energi baru dan terbarukan (EBT) yang dapat dimanfaatkan secara terus menerus karena ketersediaanya yang tidak pernah habis. Sampah dapat dikonversi menjadi energi listrik melalui metode thermal. Di Kota Ambon, sampah belum dikelola secara optimal sehingga hanya menumpuk di TPA Toisapu, sementara itu angka timbulan sampah tiap harinya terus meningkat. Pada tahun 2020 sampah yang masuk di TPA Toisapu sebanyak 1.958,60 ton dan belum dikelola secara optimal. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis potensi timbulan sampah yang tersedia di TPA Toisapu Kota Ambon yang dapat digunakan sebagai bahan baku pembangkit Listrik tenaga sampah menggunakan teknologi insinerasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif untuk menganalisis potensi sampah menjadi energy listrik. Hasil perhitungan berdasarkan jumlah massa sampah organik yang tersedia di TPA Toisapu yaitu 129,545 kg/jam maka energi listrik yang dapat dibangkitkan adalah 1.119,8960 Watt atau 1,120 kW.Keywords - Renewable Energy, Municipal Solid Waste, Incineration, Power Plants

Abstract

The massive Covid-19 pandemic has caused countries to implement policies in the form of social restrictions to limit activities outside and only carry out activities indoors. The risk of contracting the Covid-19 virus causes a reduction in public activities in the form of commercial, institutional, and public service facilities. This has an impact on the amount of waste generated by people in urban areas during the pandemic. Therefore, this study aims to determine the effect of covid-19 on the amount of waste that enters the Toisapu TPS in Ambon city and to see the difference in the average amount of waste before the pandemic and during the COVID-19 pandemic with Paired Sample T Test analysis using IBM SPSS statistics 25 application. The results showed that there was a correlation between the two variables (0.693) which means that the correlation of the amount of waste entering the Toisapu TPS between before and during covid-19 was strong but not significant as indicated by the probability value (sig.) 0.013 0.05. While the calculated t value is 3.16 2.63 (t table value) so it can be concluded that the average amount of waste before and during the Covid-19 period is different.                 Keywords: Pandemic, waste, T test

Abstract

Crab shell waste can be used as raw material for making chitosan. Chitosan is the result of chitin degassing which has many benefits, including in agriculture. Chitosan has been proven to increase plant growth. In the agricultural industry, chitosan can be used as POC. This study aims to determine the effect of POC chitosan from crab shells (P. Pelagicus) on the growth of horsetooth corn (Z. mays syndetat). The type of quantitative research with a field experiment approach using 1% chitosan POC treatment from male, female and mixed male and female crab shells, as much as 20 ml of 1% chitosan/1 liter of water. The indicators observed were plant height, stem diameter and number of leaves. Using RAK (completely randomized design) with Anova analysis (one way) assisted by SPSS version 20. The results showed that POC chitosan from male, female and mixed crab shells had an effect (sig <0.05) on plant height, stem diameter and number of leaves. The best effect was shown by mixed chitosan POC on plant height (89.00 cm), male chitosan POC on stem diameter (15.61 mm) and male, female, mixed chitosan POC on the number of leaves (10.00 strands). Abstract

Maluku is an archipelago rich in natural resources. One of area rich in marine biota among other villages in Central Maluku is Saleman Village. In the waters of Saleman village there are abundant molluscs. Therefore, this study aims to determine the density and diversity of mollusks. The research method used was descriptive qualitative with purposive sampling. Furthermore, identification and calculation of the diversity index were carried out. The researchers identified nine species with a total of 41 individuals. The species obtained were Anadara granosa, Meretrix lyrata, Semele cordiformis, Placuna placenta, Lambis lambis, Olividae, Tridacna maxima, Strombus Luhuanus L, and Conus aulicus L. The Diversity Index value obtained is 2.088. Therefore, the diversity index in the coastal watershed of Saleman Village is classified as medium.

Abstract

Polyphosphate is a straight chain biopolymer consisting of tens to hundreds of phosphate residues that are linked by high energy phosphoanhydride bonds, polyphosphate plays an important role in the bioremediation process of uranium waste, especially in the process of uranium metal precipitation in bacterial cells. Some bacteria are known to have the potential to interact with uranium through redox transformation and bioprecipitation by releasing inorganic phosphate to bind uranium in the environment. Inorganic phosphate results from degradation of polyphosphates that accumulate in cells. This study aims to determine the ability of uranium-tolerant bacteria to accumulate polyphosphates during their growth phase. Measurements were made in 5 growth phases, namely the lag phase, the logarithmic phase, the beginning of the stationary phase, the stationary phase, and the stationary end. Quantitative analysis of polyphosphate accumulations was carried out using the Olsen & Dean method. The test results are known that the uranium-tolerant bacterial isolat is able to accumulate the most optimal polyphosphate in the stationary phase, especially at the 48th hour and the lowest polyP accumulation is found in the initial stationary phase at the 24th hour.

Abstract

Produk halal merupakan hasil produksi yang harus diketahui oleh konsumen khususnya pelanggan muslim. Produk yang dihasilkan bisa berupa makanan dan minuman obat-obatan atau barang konsumsi lainnya. Produk yang terjamin kehalalannya menjadi hal utama yang menjadi perhatian pemerintah. Di berbagai industri pengolahan baik makanan maupun minuman olahan telah menggunakan teknologi terbaru pada proses pengerjaan produknya. Namun sebagian besar produk yang dihasilkan tersebut belum memiliki sertifikat halal. Ambon merupakan ibu kota Provinsi Maluku yang menyediakan produk makanan dan minuman secara luas. Pengabdian ini dilakukan di Gahwa Coffe yang bertujuan untuk memberikan informasi terkait pentingnya sertifikat halal bagi produk yaitu minuman kopi. Gahwa Coffe merupakan produsen yang memproduksi minuman kopi yang menerapkan pengolahan dengan menggunakan teknologi. Di tempat ini produk tidak memiliki sertifikat halal sebagai jaminan keamanan produk

Abstract

Produk halal merupakan hasil produksi yang harus diketahui oleh konsumen khususnya pelanggan muslim. Produk yang dihasilkan diantaranya adalah makanan dan minuman. Minimnya penyampaian pentingnya sertifikat halal bagi produk yang dikonsumsi khususnya konsumen muslim di Kota Ambon mendorong tim pengabdian melakukan kegiatan ini. Adapun pengabdian masyarakat dilakukan bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman pada pelaku usaha akan pentingnya produk yang bersertifikat sehingga perlindungan konsumen akan lebih terjaga dan menjadi perhatian bagi semua pihak. Pengabdian masyarakat ini dilakukan kepada pelaku usaha minuman kopi Gahwa Coffe di Kota Ambon pada tanggal 19-20 November 2021. On the job training dilakukan dengan mengawali observasi dan koordinasi dengan pelaku usaha terkait rencana kegiatan untuk kesiapan tempat dan waktu pelaksanaan. Tahap persiapan; Tahap pelaksanaan yakni sosialisasi mengenai pentingnya legalisasi halal pada produk makanan dan minuman; terakhir, Tahap Pelaporan. Metode pengabdian menggunakan sosialisasi dengan menguraikan secara singkat akan pentingnya sertifikat halal pada produk yang dihasilkan dan menjelaskan alur untuk mengajukan sertifikat halal bagi pelaku usaha. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan dan kepedulian dari pegiat bisnis dengan penyampaian terkait urgensi produk bersertifikat halal melalui interaksi aktif dengan pelaku usaha dan pendampingan pengajuan sertifikat halal.
