Abstract

Dalam kegiatan operasional hotel sehari – hari tidak luput dari tamu yang memberikan complaint terhadap hotel, Hal tersebut juga terjadi pada room attendant. Terbukti masih adanya karyawan room attendant yang menjalankan tugasnya yang belum maksimal dan tidak menjalankan SOP darihotel sehingga masih adanya tamu yang memberikan complaint di Hotel Sofyan Cut Meutia Menteng Jakarta. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana strategi yang dilakukan room attendant dalam menangani complaint tamu di Hotel Sofyan Cut Meutia Menteng Jenis penelitianyang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan pengumpulan data menggunakan metode wawancara, angket dan dokumentasi. Selanjutnya data dianalisis menggunakan teknik, penyajian data, redukisi data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini ditemukan terjadinya complaint dari tamu yang di sebabkan dari faktorfaktor pendorong terjadinya complaint dari tamu. Perlunya room attendant membuat strategi dalam menangani complaint tamu agar para karyawan room attendant dapat menjalankan tugasnya dengan maksimal, sehingga tamu merasa puas dan tidak memberikan complaint di Hotel Sofyan Cut Meutia Menteng Jakarta

Abstract

Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan oleh Fakultas Vokasi Universitas Brawijaya di PAUD TK Al-Maarif Singosari, dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan efektivitas pembelajaran bahasa Inggris bagi anak usia dini. Permasalahan yang dihadapi dalam pengajaran bahasa Inggris, seperti kurangnya rasa percaya diri anak dan keterbatasan media pembelajaran, diatasi dengan pengenalan flash card sebagai media pembelajaran. Program ini mencakup tahapan persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi yang melibatkan dosen dan mahasiswa. Flash card yang dirancang interaktif dan menarik digunakan untuk memperkenalkan kosakata dasar dalam bahasa Inggris dan bahasa Indonesia. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi, program ini berhasil meningkatkan keterlibatan anak-anak dalam pembelajaran dan mendukung kreativitas guru dalam merancang medi

Abstract

This study examines perceived barriers of using internet application in higher education level. Quantitative data were collected by using questionnaires. A total of 16 participants assigned to teach English were randomly selected from 3 faculties using both simple random and purposive sampling procedures. Data were analyzed both descriptively and statistically and were presented in tables and percentages. Microsoft excel was used in the descriptive statistics The study found several barriers of using internet application for teaching and learning which include: lack of personal’s ICT competency, lack of consistent technical support, lack of training on how to use internet application for teaching and learning, and poor internet connectivity. This study recommends to the management of the institution to facilitate and support the teachers actively with many training activities to improve the academic performance of the teachers so that can fulfill the millennial students’ learning needs. HIGHLIGHTS: English teachers have strong intention for the integration of ICT into classroom context, but they encountered many barriers to implement it. The major barriers faced in this study were lack of facilities or infrastructure, training, and time constraint. The presence of ICT competency increases technology integration in learning and teaching process.

Abstract

Speaking problems do not only happen to low achiever students. High-achiever students with high average score (above 90) also still have speaking problems. This makes the researcher find it important to investigate what factors that make them still get difficulties in speaking. This research is a descriptive study. The subjects include 9 high-achiever students majoring in English Department that have been selected from University of Brawijaya, State University of Malang, and Kanjuruhan University. The data have been collected by using questionnaire, interview guide, and observation sheet. The findings show that the most hampering factor in relation to teaching and learning activities is too many assignments given. Next, in terms of teaching and learning materials, the highest hampering factor is the level of difficulty of the materials which are too high. Also, the most hampering factor related to lecturers’ personalities is that the lecturer is too serious in handling the class. Moreover, lack of English usage is the next highest hampering factor about the use of English as a medium of instruction in class. Also, lack of feedback given to high-achiever students is the most hampering factor of their speaking skill. The findings indicate that preliminary study and need analysis are needed in order to help lecturers teach high-achiever students more effectively which can result in helping them overcome their speaking problems and improve their speaking skill.

Abstract

This study involved the junior high school students and focused on the use of Facebook through process-genre based approach to help the students solve problems related to idea development and organization in writing descriptive texts. This study used collaborative classroom action research consisting of two cycles. The findings show that the use of Facebook equipped with the descriptive scaffold through process-genre based approach could improve their skills in writing descriptive texts. The publishing on wall application also improved the student’ motivation. The scores of the students’ writing products in terms of content, organization, vocabulary, grammar and mechanics improved significantly from preliminary study to Cycle 1 and from Cycle 1 to Cycle 2. It is recommended that Facebook can be used to teach other kinds of text types and on different grades and levels of education.

Abstract

Menurunnya jumlah wisatawan yang berkunjung ke Kabupaten Trenggalek di tahun 2020 pasca pandemi covid 19, menuntut pemerintah kabupaten Trenggalek untuk menyusun strategi dalam meningkatkan perekonimian. Dalam strateginya, Bupati Trenggalek menggagas program pengembangan Trenggalek Seratus Desa Wisata (SADEWA) dengan jargon MEROKET (Maju ekonomi rakyatnya, SDM yang kreatif dan Ekosistem yang terjaga). Dalam mewujudkan misi tersebut, Dinas Pariwisata Kabupaten Trenggalek meluncurkan program Peningkatan Daya Tarik Destinasi Pariwisata melalui Pemasaran Pariwisata. Pemasaran pariwisata dilakukan melalui media digital berupa website, karena memiliki tampilan yang lebih menarik, interaktif, informatif serta memiliki jangkauan pasar yang lebih luas. Namun, informasi tentang tempat wisata saja tidak cukup. Perlu adanya informasi pariwisata yang lebih lengkap terkait dengan fasilitas-fasilitas pendukung seperti penginapan, rumah makan, dan tranportasi yang terintegrasi. Oleh sebab itu perlu dikembangkanan Tourism Centre System dengan nama Sistem Informasi Destinasi dan Kalkulator Paket Wisata Di Kabupaten Trenggalek. Melalui sistem ini, selain mendapatkan informasi-informasi detail tentang destinasi wisata, para calon wisatawan dapat mengetahui kisaran biaya yang dibutuhkan ketika akan mengunjungi destinasi wisata serta produk-produk wisata di Kabupaten Trenggalek
