Abstract

The lush leaves of tea within several years after prune is expected to be followed by arthropod abundance and diversity. The study aimed to evaluate the arthropod abundance, diversity, evenness, and dominance, at the tea plantation within several years after the prune. The study was conducted at Pagilaran tea plantations, Central Java, from April to May 2018, at an altitude of 900 m asl. Arthropod samplings were done in four plots of tea plantation namely 1, 2, 3, and 4 years after pruning, hereafter they are called PY1, PY2, PY3, and PY4.  The plot area was approximately 1 ha. The arthropod specimens were collected using sweep net and pitfall trap every day for 6 consecutive days.  The arthropod identification and calculation were carried out in the Laboratory of Entomology, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada. Analysis of variance was applied to determine the effect of PY on the Arthropod abundance. The Shannon Wienner index, the Evenness index, and the Simpson index, were used to evaluate the arthropod diversity, evenness, and dominance, respectively. The results showed that the PY significantly affected the arthropod abundance. The arthropod number collected from PY1 (27 individuals/50 swings) was significantly lower as compared to the other PYs, while arthropod numbers amongst PY2, PY3, and PY4 (53, 93, and 67 individuals/50 swings, respectively) were relatively similar. Out of the total number of 1.432 arthropod specimens, it comprised of 10 orders at which Hemiptera was the highest order (48.04%), and 69 families at which Cicadellidae was the highest family (32.12%). Amongst specimens of Cicadellidae, there was Empoasca sp. which is an important tea pest. The Shannon Wienner index (H) of orders and families ranged from 1.24 to 2.69 indicates moderate arthropod diversity. The Evenness index (e') ranged from 0.57 to 0.91) indicates the arthropod evenly distributed. Meanwhile, the Simpson index (D) ranged 0.10 - 0.39 indicates that there was no dominance of the order or family.

Abstract

Kalimantan merupakan pulau terbesar di Indonesia, dikenal memiliki hutan yang sangat luas dan memiliki sumber daya yang melimpah berupa hasil hutan kayu dan hasil hutan bukan kayu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui persentase pertumbuhan tanaman pada rehabilitasi hutan dan lahan di wilayah kerja UPTD KPHP Meratus setelah tiga tahun penanaman. Jenis tanaman yang digunakan meliputi MPTS seperti sukun, cempedak, nangka, dan petai, serta tanaman kayu-kayuan meranti. Penelitian dilakukan pada areal blok 1 seluas 200 ha dengan jarak tanam 3 m x 3 m, menggunakan 24 petak ukur berukuran 40 m x 25 m yang masing-masing berisi 112 tanaman. Metode penelitian menggunakan teknik random sampling dengan mengumpulkan data primer melalui observasi langsung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata persentase tumbuh tanaman sebesar 93,5%, dengan persentase hidup sehat mencapai 84.5% dan persentase tanaman merana sekitar 9%. Petak 3 memiliki persentase tumbuh dan hidup tertinggi, sedangkan petak 5 dan 7 menunjukkan tantangan dalam pertumbuhan dan pemeliharaan. Rata-rata tinggi tanaman mencapai 85,49 cm, yang menunjukkan pertumbuhan optimal dan kondisi tanaman yang sehat. Secara keseluruhan, tingkat keberhasilan tumbuh tanaman telah melampaui standar minimal 75% sesuai peraturan, menandakan keberhasilan program rehabilitasi dalam menjaga kesehatan dan pertumbuhan tanaman.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui konsentrasi Rootone-F untuk kemampuan berakar stek pucuk merawan dan lama perendaman Rootone-F untuk memperolah kemampuan berakar stek pucuk merawan yang terbaik. Penelitian mwnggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok Lengkap (RAKL) pola factorial 3 x 10 x 48 dan didalam masing-masing ulangan berisi 10 stek pucuk dengan perlakuan konsentrasi Rootone-F (Kontrol, 200 ppm, 350 ppm, 500 ppm) dan lama perendaman (kontrol, 8 jam, 16 jam, dan 24 jam). Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa persentase hidup tanaman tertinggi sebesar 81,25 % pada ulangan 1. Hasil sidik ragam persentase hidup dari perlakuan dosis hormon dan lama perendaman memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap interaksi kombinasi pemberian dosisi Rootone-F dengan perlakuan lama perendaman. Sedangkan parameter tunas baru, daun baru, panjang akar dan jumlah akar hasil sidik ragam tidak signifikan atau tidak berbeda nyata.
