Abstract

Communication is a very important skill for a nurse in providing nursing care. Data shows that new graduates of nursing education programs still have to make extra efforts to communicate with patients. Efforts to improve communication experiences can be done in various ways, one of which is using simulations with role play techniques for nursing students in each learning process. This research aims to determine the application of the role play method in communication learning for nursing students in the third diploma nursing study program at the Harapan Bersama Polytechnic, Tegal City. This research is an experimental research using a one group pre test and post test design using a total sampling of 52 nursing students. Data collection was carried out using therapeutic communication observation sheets, communication behavior and role play implementation. The role play is designed according to the topic of therapeutic communication by each group by paying attention to the stages of creating the role play which are measured using an observation sheet. The results showed that there were differences in the average scores of pre- and post-treatment therapeutic communication skills with a significance level of p = 0.000 as well as differences in pre- and post-treatment communication behavior with a significance level of p = 0.000. Based on these results, it can be concluded that role play influences the therapeutic communication skills and behavior of nursing students, so that it can be applied as a learning method to achieve good therapeutic communication skills in nursing students.

Abstract

Abstrak: Belajar adalah suatu proses atau upaya yang dilakukan setiap individu untuk mendapatkan pengetahuan, keterampilan, sikap dan nilai positif. Tujuan pengabdian Meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam mengelola stres yang dialami selama persiapan ujian akhir sekolah dan proses pra masuk perguruan tinggi guna meningkatkan motivasi dan kinerja akademik mereka. Metode : Sosialisasi tentang stres akademik, motivasi tips dan trik dalam memilih perguruan tinggi, serta memberikan teknik – teknik relaksasi manajemen stres. Hasil : pre dan post test dari 35 siswa terdapat 5 orang (14,3%) memiliki stres tinggi dikarenakan banyaknya tugas dan tuntutan dalam masuk perguruan tinggi, 12 orang (34,3%) memiliki stres sedang karna akan menghadapi ujian akhir sekolah dan ujian pra masuk perguruan tinggi, dan 18 orang (51,4%) memiliki stres ringan dimana siswa tersebut tidak terlalu memikirkan tentang ujian akhir sekolah maupun masuk perguruan tinggi.Abstract: Learning is a process or effort made by each individual to gain knowledge, skills, attitudes and positive values. Objective: To improve students' ability to manage stress experienced during the preparation of school final exams and the pre-entry process to improve their motivation and academic performance. Methods: Socialization about academic stress, motivational tips and tricks in choosing a college, and providing stress management relaxation techniques. Results: pre and post test of 35 students, 5 people (14.3%) had high stress due to the many tasks and demands in entering college, 12 people (34.3%) had moderate stress because they would face school final exams and pre-entry exams, and 18 people (51.4%) had mild stress where the students did not think too much about school final exams and college entrance.

Abstract

Abstrak: Cedera merupakan masalah kesehatan yang harus mendapatkan perhatian dan penanganan khusus, termasuk cedera pada anak yang bertanggung jawab atas 950.000 kematian pada anak-anak dan remaja di setiap tahun. Riset kesehatan dasar yang dilakukan oleh Kemenkes RI (2013) menunjukkan bahwa prevalensi cedera paling banyak terjadi di jalan raya (42,8%) yang diikuti di rumah (36,5%), area pertanian (6,9%) serta di sekolah (5,4%). Tujuan utama kegiatan ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan siswa tentang pertolongan pertama pada kecelakaan melalui metode role play sehingga mampu tercipta lingkungan sekolah yang memberikan tindakan yang tepat sesuai dengan pengetahuan yang dimiliki saat terjadi kecelakaan.Mitra kami dalam melakukan penyuluhan adalah 24 siswa kelas XI di SMA Kota Tegal, Jawa Tengah dengan karakteristik sekolah adalah terletak di jalan utama kota Tegal dengan karakteristik bangunan sekolah lantai tiga dengan satu pintu keluar dan masuk yang langsung berbatas jalan raya. Metode yang digunakan dalam pendidikan kesehatan ini adalah dengan penyuluhan dan bermain peran (Role Play). Tingkat pengetahuan siswa di evaluasi melalui pertanyaan sebelum maupun setelah kegiatan. Hasil pengabdian berupa peningkatan pengetahuan tentang pertolongan pertama pada kecelakaan.Abstract: Injuries are a health problem that requires special attention and treatment, including injuries to children which are responsible for 950,000 deaths in children and adolescents every year. Basic health research conducted by the Indonesian Ministry of Health (2013) shows that the highest prevalence of injuries occurs on roads (42.8%), followed by at home (36.5%), agricultural areas (6.9%) and at school ( 5.4%). The main aim of this activity is to increase students' knowledge about first aid in accidents through the role play method so that a school environment can be created that provides appropriate action according to the knowledge they have when an accident occurs. Our partners in providing counseling are 24 class XI students at Kota High School Tegal, Central Java, the characteristic of the school is that it is located on the main road of the city of Tegal with the characteristics of a three-story school building with one exit and entrance that directly borders the main road. The method used in health education is counseling and role playing. Students' knowledge level is evaluated through questions before and after the activity. The results of the service are in the form of increased knowledge about first aid in accidents.
