Abstract

Due to the increasing demand for travel by train in recent years, the large potential number of passengers in Jakarta - Surabaya corridor needs to be anticipated with adequate transportation system planning so that the bottlenecks on available transportation network system can be minimized. This paper analyses the potential competition between the demand of executive passenger train and Jakarta-Surabaya high-speed train which will be built by the Government as planned. This study only use travel time variables and ticket rates as independent variables between executive passenger train and high-speed train, then stated preference methods and binomial logit models are used as tools for processing data. As a result, we believe that the operation of Jakarta-Surabaya high-speed train will have a negative impact on the demand of executive passenger train on this route.

Abstract

The high mobility of the community in the Jakarta - Bandung corridor, caused a surge in passengers of Argo Parahyangan Train. To overcome this, the Government of Indonesia is carrying out a National Strategic Project, by building the Jakarta - Bandung High Speed Rail which takes only 36-44 minutes. When the Jakarta - Bandung bullet train starts operating, there will be passengers transfer from Argo Parahyangan Train to Jakarta - Bandung High Speed Rail. To find out how many passengers will move from Argo Parahyangan Train to Jakarta Bandung High Speed Rail, this research surveyed with revealed preference technique, then the data analyzed with binary logit method. The travel attributes used in this study are the time difference and cost different. The results in this study, as many as 97.67% and 97.97% will move from Argo Parahyangan Train to High Speed Rail if the time difference is faster 150 and 165 minutes with a higher cost of Rp 25,000. By the cost is more expensive which is Rp 200,000, as much as 12.9% of participants select move to the High Speed Rail if the travel time is faster 150 minutes and about 14.59% select move to the High Speed Rail if the travel time is faster 165 minutes.

Abstract

Semarang, part of the Kedungsepur area, has a population of 1,656,564 with an average annual growth of 1.57%. The increase in population can increase the intensity of trips, so good transportation infrastructure is needed. The presence of the Central Business District (CBD) area in Semarang, precisely on Jalan Pemuda-Pandanaran-Ahmad Yani, often results in congestion. The purpose of this research was to provide recommendations for solutions in the form of a study on applying congestion charges to private vehicles to overcome congestion on the road. This research uses traffic analysis to determine the performance of existing roads using the PKJI 2014 method. After knowing the traffic performance, modeling the mode selection of private cars for BRT Trans Semarang was carried out using the logit binomial difference method. In this study, three travel attributes were considered influential in the choice of mode: travel time, congestion costs, and frequency. The private car utility equation for BRT Trans Semarang is obtained with a value of U=-11.3774-0.2639(X1)-0.0120(X2)-1.5403(X3). Based on the research results, a congestion charge of IDR 10,000 was obtained, with the percentage of private car users switching to BRT Trans Semarang at 79.8%. So implementing a congestion charge is considered adequate to reduce the congestion on the road.ABSTRAKKota Semarang merupakan bagian dari kawasan Kedungsepur memiliki 1.656.564 jiwa penduduk dengan pertumbuhan rata-rata tiap tahun sebesar 1,57%.
