Abstract

This research was aimed at find out the effectiveness of using Cue Card Media toward student’s speaking anxiety in learning English speaking. This research was an experimental research. The population this was the second grade students of SMKN 1 Mataram in academic year 2022/2023 were 218 students. The sample of the research were 64 students. Akl 1 as experimental group and Akl 2 as control group. The sample technique used in this was cluster random sampling technique.The instrument that was used Speaking test namely Describing Object The score were analyzed by used descriptive and inferential analysis. Descriptive analysis was used to describe mean, mode, median, and standard deviation of group according to Anas Sudijono:2007, and inferential analysis was used to describe the value of t-test for comparison between t-table. It was showed that the value of-test = 7.164 was higher than the value of t-table = 1.998. So, using Cue Card Media approach has positive effect toward student’s speaking anxiety in learning English at SMKN 1 Mataram.

Abstract

The research was aimed at conducting the investigation on the effectiveness of Two Stay Two Stray Teaching Method Toward Students’ Reading Comprehension. The research address the research question on whether or not the two stay two stray teaching method effective in developing students’ reading comprehension. The type of the research was experimental study which consist of one class experiment with two pre test and post test. The subjects of the research were those students who were at the second years of SMPN 2 Jerowaru. The research instrument used multiple-choice test which measured the students’ reading comprehension. The result of data in this research were analyzed by means of descriptive and statistical analysis to determine the effectiveness of two stay two stray teaching method on students’ reading comprehension. The final hypothesis were made after finding out the statistical analysis result of the study.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to investigate how the implementation of cooperative learning strategies, particularly Numbered Heads Together (NHT), can enhance students' interest in reading comprehension. Classroom Action Research was employed as the research design, with data collection tools consisting of questionnaires and observations. The study focused on students from class VIII A at MTS Nurul Islam Sekarbela. Both qualitative and quantitative approaches were used for data analysis. The research comprised two cycles of Classroom Action Research involving 27 students. The findings revealed an improvement from cycle I to cycle II. In cycle I, four students achieved a very high percentage score, while 20 students attained a high percentage score and three students scored in the medium category. The results of cycle II were higher than those of cycle I. Based on the data, the research was deemed successful as it met the success criteria of achieving a minimum interest level of 61% in the high percentage category for students' comprehension. Observations indicated an improvement in the classroom environment, with students demonstrating increased interest, attentiveness to the teacher, enjoyment, and greater participation in learning activities. This suggests that cooperative learning strategies can indeed enhance students' interest in reading comprehension.

Abstract

In the field of education, in Indonesia there are many moral crises occurring. Considering the existence of a moral degradation, in this case, the government implements the education of the character which will serve as a solution to the form and reconstitutes the behavior of the pupils to have a noble character in according to the character of the nation.The purpose of this research is to find out character building values in The Turning Red movie. The researcher used theory of Zaim El Mubarok that Character Building Values divided into two groups. There are (1) to recognize the types of character building values Turning Red movie. (2) to recognize the percentages of character building values in The Turning Red movie, (3) to describe the implication of character building values in The Turning Red movie. This research, the researcher used the library research which applies descriptive qualitative approach. The primary data sources were “Turning Red movie” and it’s script.The secondary sources were taken from other books and related references which supported and concerned the primary data. The researcher used content analysis to analyze the data. The result of this study shows that were are two groups to analysis the character building values. There are values of being and values of giving. The values of being, namely: (1) Honesty, (2) brave, (3) peace, (4) confidence and potential, (5) self-dicipline and moderation self, (6) purity. Then values of giving, namely (1) loyalty and trust worthiness, (2) respect, (3) love and affection, (4) sensibility and not selfishness, (5) kind and friendly, (6) fair and humanist.

Abstract

This research aimed to analyze the student’s cognitive strategies in remembering English Vocabulary survey study at Ponpes NW Nurul Yaqien Sayang-Sayang Cakranegara. The subject of this research was first grade VII-A of MTs NW Nurul Yaqien Sayang-Sayang in academic year 2023/2024. The subject of this study were 7 students. The method of this research was qualitative case study. The technique of data collection applied in this study were interview, recording and note taking/documents. Then the procedure of data analysis was data condensation, data display and conclusion drawing and verification used the theory of Miles and Huberman 2014. The result of this research, the researcher found out the types of student’s cognitive strategies in remembering English vocabulary. The strategies used by the students were Note taking strategy, repeating strategy, Grouping, Recombination, Imagery, Auditory representation, Keyword, Elaboration Transfer, and practice strategy. Therefore, the strategies used by students to remember the meaning and repetition strategy, translation strategy, and auditory representation and dominants used strategy note taking and repetition.

Abstract

This research aimed to analysis the student’s self-strategies in memorizing English Vocabulary survey study at Ponpes Al-Muwahhidin Lelede. The subject of this research was first grade VII-A of MTs Al-Muwahhidin in academic year 2022/2023. The sample of this study were 7 students. The method of this research was qualitative survey study. The technique of data collection applied in this study were interview, recording and documents. Then the procedure of data analysis was data condensation, data display and conclusion drawing and verification used the theory of Miles and Huberman 2014. The result of this research, the researcher found out the types of student’s strategies in memorizing English vocabulary. The strategies used by the students were making note strategy, repeating strategy, singing strategy and practice strategy. Therefore, the strategies used by students to remember the meaning and spelling were practice strategy, writing strategy, memorizing strategy and reading strategy.
