This research was aimed at describing whether or not Think-Pair-Share strategy is able to improve the students? motivation and speaking competence. The research was a Classroom Action Research. The data collected through qualitative and quantitative ways. The instruments used by the researcher were speaking test, observation sheet and questionnaire. The finding of the research showed that the strategy can improve the students? motivation and speaking competence. The improvement can be seen from the result of note taking and observation sheet. In cycle one there were 20 out of 30 students improved their motivation which was also supported by questionnaire result of 84%. In cycle two the result of note taking and observation sheet showed that there were 25 out of 30 students improved their motivation which was also supported by questionnaire result of 91%. The mean score of the students also showed an improvement, from 63, 53 on first cycle to 84 on the second cycle. So, it could be concluded that using Think-Pair-Share strategy was able to improve the students? motivation and speaking competence.

This research was aimed at finding out whether: (1) Contextual Teaching Learning has better effect than conventional method towards students speaking skill; (2) the students having low anxiety have better speaking skill than those who have high anxiety; and (3) there is an interaction between CTL and anxiety towards students speaking skill. This research was experimental study within quantitative approach. The total samples of this study were 66 students of tour and travel class of SMKN 2 Mataram that consist of two classes that determined by cluster random sampling technique. The instruments that were used to collect the data were test and questionnaire. The data was analyzed by using multifactor analysis of variance 2x2 and tuckey test. The result of this research revealed that the level of students anxiety that taught by CTL is lower than conventional, while students? speaking skill score that taught by contextual method was higher than conventional method. The level of anxiety has significant effect toward students? speaking skill. Therefore, it can be concluded that: 1) Contextual Teaching Learning method has better effect than Convetional method towards students speaking skill of the tour and travel students? class of SMKN 2 Mataram; 2) The students who have low speaking anxiety have better speaking skill than those who have high speaking anxiety at the tour and travel students? class of SMKN 2 Mataram; 3) There is an interaction between CTL and students? anxiety towards students speaking skill of the tour and travel students? class of SMKN 2 Mataram.

This research was aimed at finding out the effectevenness of Ransom Note Game in learning vocabulary. this research was quasi experimental design. The populations of this research were all of students at second grade students of SMPN 1 KERUAK that consist of 284 students that consist of eight different classes. In which the sample of this research used two classes where VIII.1 Class as experimental group consisted of 32 student and VIII.3 as control group consisted of 31 students. The experimental was taught by Ransom Note Game Game and control group taught by Puzzle Game. The instruments that used were objective test with multiple choices, matching word, fill in the blank and true or false. The analysis used t-test formula. The result of the analysis, showed that the value of to (t obtained) 2, 0888 was higher than tt (t table) 1, 8702, the significant level 0, 05. Based on the result of this investigation, it was proved that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. In other words, there was significant effect of Ransom Note Game in learning vocabulary at the second grade students at SMPN 1 KERUAK in academic year 2016/2017.

The purpose of this research is to describe the second semester students? ability in using elliptical construction at the second semester students of English Department of IKIP Mataram 2016. Descriptive method is used as the design of this research. This research is indended to analize whether the second semester students of English Department of IKIP Mataram 2016 are able to use elliptical constructions or not and to analize percentage of ability of students in using elliptical constructions. The population of this research is the second semester students of English Department of IKIP Mataram Year 2016 (270 students). The researchers used cluster random sampling to select the sample. The total number of sample is 40 students. Technique of data collection is conducted by using grammar test and questioner. In analyzing the data, the researchers use statistic analysis, refers to descriptive statistic, it is enable the researchers to organize, to summarize, and to describe the observation. Furthermore, in describing the data, the researchers organize the data into frequency distribution. Then, measure the mean scores to find out a single score that can give the indication of the ability of the 40 students on an achievements test. For this purpose, the researchers find out the mean scores. The finding of this study revealed that : (1) The ability of second year students of English Department of IKIP Mataram year 2016 in using elliptical constructions is on low level, it can be seen from the mean score of the students which is 12,1 and this score is on low level. (2) The percentages of qualification for the second year students of English Department of IKIP Mataram year 2016 in using elliptical constructions are on low percentages, it can be seen from the rate percentage of the ability of students in using elliptical constructions. (3) The second semester students of English Department of IKIP Mataram year 2016 able to use elliptical constructions in small number of students. however, most of the students have lack interested about the way lecturer conduct elliptical construction.

Partner Reading is a cooperative learning strategy in which two students work together to read an assigned text. This lead the students feel free to express their prior kowledge during the discussion with their pair. This study examined the effect of Partner Reading towrads students? reading comprehension. This research was an experimental study with one group pre test and post test design. The research was conducted at one of MTs in West Lombok. The independent variable of this research was a teaching strategy that is partner reading. Students? reading comprehension was considered as a dependent variable. This research used all of the population as the sample. The research was analyzed through t-test with SPSS 21 software. The research reveals that teaching strategies used after treatment affect significantly on the students? reading comprehension as the sig- 2 tailed shows that it less than 0.000 at the level of significance 0.05 and N=24. It can be concluded that partner reading affect the students reading comprehension.

Berkembang pariwisata di Nusa Tenggara Barat di tandai dengan pemberian anugrah destinasi wisata halal terbaik dunia, sudah menjadi kaharusan untuk menyiapkan SDM dibidang pariwisata dengan sungguh-sungguh sehingga SDM akan tetap mempertahankan anugrah tersebut. Salah satu bentuk partisifasi perguruan tinggi adalah dengan memberikan pembekalan dan pelatihan di masyarakat sekolah dan masyarakat pelaku wisata melalui kegiatan PKM. Tujuan PKM ini adalah melatih siswa jurusan pariwisata di SMK Negeri 1 Batulayar Lombok Barat untuk menjadi pemandu wisata. Kegiatan ini dilakukan di SKM Negeri 1 batu layar Metode kegiatan adalah cermah, diskusi dan praltik dengan tahapan pemberian materi, praktik, pendampingan dan evaluasi. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah pengetahuan dan pemahaman siswa meningkat tentang menjadi pemandu pariwisata, keterampilan-keterampilan dalam memandu meningkat dilihat dari kemampuan mereka dalam menerapkan strategi-strategi pemandu wisata yang profesional. Meskipun ada peningkatan sebagai calon pemandu para siswa masih kekuranga dalam berkomunikasi menggunakan bahasa inggris, sehingga kedepan perlu adanya pelatihan dan pendampingan lebih banyak, sehingga saat mereka lulus dari sekolah mereka siap menjadi pemandu yang profesional.Tour Guide Training for Tourism Department Students at SMKN 1 Batulayar West LombokAbstractThe development of tourism in West Nusa Tenggara is marked by the awarding of the best halal tourist destination in the world, it has become a necessity to prepare HR in the tourism sector seriously so that HR will continue to maintain the gift. One form of university participation is to provide training and training in the school community and tourism community through PKM activities. The purpose of this PKM is to train students majoring in tourism at SMK Negeri 1 Batulayar West Lombok to become a tour guide. This activity was carried out in SKM Negeri 1 Batu Layar. The method of activity was a reflection, discussion and practice with the stages of providing material, practice, assistance and evaluation. The results of this activity are increased students' knowledge and understanding about becoming a tourism guide, and the skills in guiding are increasing in terms of their abilities to implement professional tour guide strategies. Although there are improvements as prospective guides students still lack communication in using English, so in the future there needs to be more training and mentoring, so that when they graduate from school they are ready to become professional guides.

The purpose of this study is to explain the extent of the role of social media on students' English vocabulary mastery and also to describe the role of social media on students' vocabulary acquisition related to their respective use of social media. It uses the case study method. The data needed for this study were collected from student observations and questionnaires. Data were collected from direct observation and analyzed using descriptive qualitative methods to find out how to explain social media activity to students. By using this method, researchers can find out the average activeness of students on the most frequently used social media. This observation was also carried out to find out between social media activity and student vocabulary achievement. Meanwhile, the data collected from the questionnaire results were then analyzed using the descriptive data method and the classification method of social media activity from Nuraini (2011). This method was used to describe students based on their social media activity.Therefore, the results of this study indicate that there is student activity and vocabulary achievement so that social media plays an important role in achieving student vocabulary. However, some of the students have differences with different levels of social media activity. Most of the students with higher social media activity were able to achieve better vocabulary than those with lower social media activity, although there were some students with lower social media activity who could achieve better scores than those who were very active. . These conditions indicate that social media has a role in students' vocabulary mastery. As a researcher, I suggest that teachers and students try to use social media as a medium for language learning.

In particular cases, teachers still strugle to find valid content of material in the internet, it is because teachers lack comprehending about digital literacy. While education policy has fliped the teaching learning process to online learning based, the use of technology has increased significantly. As a result the ability to search, allocate and evaluate the information in the internet is a crucial thing to be acquired by the teachers. Therefore, this research aims to reveal teachers’ levels of digital literacy and to find out what support teachers need to increase their digital literacy. This research was qualitative descriptive, gathering data through the interview with six teachers at two senior high school in Mataram. The result of the study showed that teachers have a medium level of digital literacy. Teachers’ digital literacy levels involve four aspect of digital literacy competencies which is the ability to use digital tools, know its purposes, and able to operate it even in a complex way. In addition, the researcher also found the support that can increase teachers’ digital literacy include; (a) teachers’ development where teachers need to involve themselves in training and self development, and (b) the facilities/resources such as computer, laptop and internet connection.

This research was aimed to find out the central character’s ego-state in the novel “The Pilgrimage”. It focused on analyzing the central character’s ego-state in the novel “The Pilgrimage”. The method of this research was descriptive qualitative research. Data collection techniques that used are documentation, reading, re-read identification, note taking and classification. Data analysis techniques was used three step namely data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing or verification. This research was analyzed by using psychology approaches of Eric Berne Transactional Analysis, especially concerning in Parent, Adult and Child system. The total of parent ego state found six, total of Adult ego state found nine, and total of child ego state found five.
