Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out and analyze the effect of competence, organizational commitment, leadership and motivation on lecturers' performance in conducting research. This research is descriptive associative. The object is permanent lecturers at private universities in Medan City. The results of this study stated that partially the variables of competence, leadership and motivation have a significant and positive effect on the performance of lecturers in conducting research, while the variable of organizational commitment has no significant and positive effect. Simultaneously the competency, organizational commitment, leadership and motivation variables have a positive and significant effect on the performance of lecturers in conducting research.

Abstract

Purpose -This research examines the effect of work-life balance and work engagement on employee performance through job satisfaction at the Belawan Branch of the Multi Terminal Sub Pelindo.Method -The approach used in this research is an associative quantitative approach. This study's population was all Pelindo Multi Terminal Sub Belawan Branch employees. The sample in this study used a saturated sample method totaling 98 employees at the Belawan Branch of the Pelindo Multi Terminal Sub Branch. Data collection techniques in this research used interviews and questionnaires. The data analysis technique uses a quantitative approach using SEM-PLS.Findings -The results of this research show that work-life balance, work engagement, and job satisfaction have a positive and significant effect on employee performance, work-life balance, and work engagement have a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction, work-life balance, and work engagement have a positive and significant effect on employee performance through Job satisfaction at Sub Pelindo Multi Terminal Belawan Branch.Originality/Novelty - Combining two main concepts, namely work-life balance and work engagement, in one research model can provide a deeper understanding of the complexity of the relationship between the variables of work-life balance, work engagement, job satisfaction, and employee performance.Implications -This research has shown that job satisfaction mediates the influence of work-life balance and work engagement on employee performance. Recommendations for further research include analyzing or using the job satisfaction variable as an independent variable, not a mediating variable.

Abstract

Studi ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis faktor kinerja karyawan yang dipengaruhi oleh budaya organisasi dan organizational citizenship behavior melalui knowledge sharing sebagai variabel intervening pada Kantor Pengawasan dan Pelayanan Bea dan Cukai Tipe Madya Pabean Belawan. Pendekatan penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Populasi terdiri dari semua pegawai tetap yang berjumlah 68 orang dan sampel menggunakan sampel jenuh. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan kuisioner dan wawancara. Teknik analisis data menggunakan partial Least Square (smartPLS) untuk menguji hipotesis yang diajukan. Hasil penelitian menjelaskan bahwa budaya organisasi dan organizational citizenship behavior berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap knowledge sharing maupun kinerja karyawan. Knowledge Sharing berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan. Knowlegde Sharing tidak berpengaruh signifikan dalam memediasi budaya organisasi terhadap kinerja karyawan. Knowlegde Sharing tidak berpengaruh signifikan dalam memediasi organizational citizenship behavior terhadap kinerja karyawan.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of audit quality and fiscal loss compensation on tax avoidance in real estate and property companies on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2021-2024 partially and simultaneously. The approach used in this study is an associative approach. The population in the study is real estate and property companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2022-2024. The sampling method used is purposive sampling so that 37 samples were obtained. The total number of data processed in this study for 3 years is 111 data. There are 29 data that need to be outliers due to data abnormalities, so the final sample used in the study is 82 observation data. The data collection technique is using documentation. The data analysis technique in this study is multiple regression. The results of this study indicate that audit quality partially has no significant effect on tax avoidance, with a significance value of 0.621> 0.05. Fiscal loss compensation partially has a significant effect on tax avoidance, with a significance value of 0.009 <0.05. Audit quality and fiscal loss compensation simultaneously have an effect on tax avoidance, with a significance value of 0.025 <0.05

Abstract

Organisasi dituntut untuk mampu mengelola sumber daya manusianya secara efektif guna mencapai kinerja optimal. Dua faktor penting yang diyakini berkontribusi langsung terhadap peningkatan kinerja karyawan adalah keterikatan kerja dan kemampuan kerja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh keterikatan kerja dan kemampuan kerja terhadap kinerja pegawai melalui kepuasan kerja sebagai variabel mediasi baik secara langsung maupun tidak langsung. Pendekatan penelitian menggunakan metode kuantitatif eksplanatory research. Populasi meliputi semua pegawai tetap PT. Pegadaian Kanwil 1 Medan yang berjumlah 67 orang dengan pengambilan sampel menggunakan sampel jenuh. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara dan angket. Teknik analisis data menggunakan alat analisis statistik Smart-PLS dengan tahapan uji analisis outer model, inner model, dan uji hipotesis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara langsung baik keterikatan kerja, kemampuan kerja, dan kepuasan kerja masing-masing berpengaruh signfikan terhadap kinerja pegawai. Kepuasan kerja memediasi pengaruh keterikatan kerja dan kemampuan kerja terhadap kinerja pegawai pada PT Pegadaian Kanwil 1 Medan. Temuan ini memberikan implikasi bahwa pentingnya menciptakan strategi yang mampu meningkatkan kepuasan kerja sebagai langkah strategis untuk mengoptimalkan kinerja pegawai melalui pengaruh keterikatan dan kemampuan kerja.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the effect of talent management practices, including talent recruitment practice, training and development practice, and compensation practices, on Medical Representative performance, with the mediation of organisational learning and innovative behaviour. Based on data collected from companies in the pharmaceutical industry sector in Medan City, Indonesia, with a sample size of 260 and sampling techniques using accidental sampling, the data analysis technique uses Structural Equation Modelling (SEM - PLS) with SEM PLS 4.0 software. The study’s results indicate that talent management practices (talent recruitment, training and development, and compensation practices) significantly positively affect sales performance. Only talent recruitment does not directly affect Medical Representative performance but hurts learning. In addition, learning organisations are proven to mediate the relationship between talent management practices and Medical Representatives. At the same time, innovative behaviour also plays a role in mediating the effect of talent management practices on Medical Representative performance. These findings provide insight for practitioners in designing more effective sales force management policies in improving sales performance and highlight the importance of learning organisations and innovative behaviour as the main supporting factors.

Abstract

Purpose– This research aims to understand the mediating role of Customer Engagement in the relationship between digital marketing strategies and Food Quality on the level of consumer satisfaction and purchasing decisions in the Medan City culinary industry.Methodology– This study combines quantitative data analysis and consumer surveys to identify the influence of digital marketing strategies and food quality on consumer behaviour, particularly regarding satisfaction and purchasing decisions. The sample used in this research was 250 culinary consumers in Medan City, and the data analysis technique used Structural Equation Modeling Part Least Square.Findings– The results of this research will provide valuable insight for culinary business owners and marketers in understanding the factors that influence consumer preferences in Medan City.Originality/Novelty– The findings from the research can help culinary business owners develop marketing strategies and improve food quality to meet customer expectations, thereby increasing customer attraction and satisfaction in buying culinary products.Implications–Contribute to a deeper understanding of the complex interactions between digital marketing strategies, food quality, and consumer behaviour in the Medan City culinary industry context.
