Abstract

Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) This is an infectious disease characterized by the growth and multiplication of bacteria in the urinary tract. The most common etiology in more than 80% of uncomplicated UTI cases is Escherichia coli, and less than 50%, Proteus spp, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Enterobacter spp, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus, and Enterococcus. Candida species are a common cause of urinary tract infection in patients with severe chronic catheterization. The clinical forms of UTI are classified according to age, intensity of inflammatory response, and location of urinary tract infection. Children aged 2 months to 2 years with a UTI require special attention because they are likely to have atypical clinical presentations, invasive urine specimen collection, and kidney injury. This study aims to determine the dosage and composition of the antibiotic ciprofloxacin in patients with urinary tract infections at Grandmed Lubuk Pakam Hospital for the period November-December 2021. The method used is a descriptive assessment because it aims to provide an objective picture or description of the situation. Data collection was carried out retrospectively. Both research by reviewing historical information, as well as data collection by observing the medical records of urinary tract infection patients at Grandmed Lubuk Pakam Hospital in 2021

Abstract

Salmonella thypiis a bacterium that causes typhoid fever. Typhoid fever is an infectious disease that is still a health problem, especially in Indonesia. There are several studies on the types of plants that can control bacterial growth. Indonesian plants are often used as medicine, one of which is the karamunting (Rhodomyrtus tomentosa.). Traditionally a number of parasitic species have been used to prevent and treat various diseases such as cough, anticancer, diuretic, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, wound or infection karamunting (Rhodomyrtus tomentosa.) Has active compounds such as flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins , saponins, and glycosides which have antibacterial abilities. The purpose of this study is to determine the inhibition of extract of karamunting (Rhodomyrtus tomentosa.) at concentrations of 5%, 10%, and 15%. Test samples using Salmonella thypi. This research is an experimental study with a design (posttest). The research methods included the collection of plant material, determination of plant material, making simplicia, phytochemical screening, making ethanol extract from simplicia by maceration, testing chemical compound groups, and antibacterial testing with paper disk diffusion methods. Karamunting is extracted by maceration process, using 70% ethanol solvent. The results of this study indicate that the benalu coffee leaf extract (Rhodomyrtus tomentosa.) has inhibitory capacity as an antibacterial in Salmonella thypi with a mean inhibition of 16.87 mm at a concentration of 5%, 17.24 mm at a concentration of 10%, and 18.21 mm at a concentration of 15%. The greatest inhibition is produced at a concentration of 15%, because the higher the concentration of the extract, the higher the diameter of the inhibition produced, because the more active substances contained in the extract.

Abstract

Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) could be a coronavirus that causes COVID-19 infection. SARS-CoV-2 is classified as an RNA infection that can cause gentle to severe respiratory diseases. Viral contaminations proceed to extend quickly, so it is critical to prevent the spread of the infection through nasopharyngeal and/or oropharyngeal swabs within the community. The point of this consider was to decide the exactness of nasopharyngeal or pharyngeal spread testing and the inspiration rate in RSUD patients. Padang Sidempuan City This think about was performed by collecting 20 nasopharyngeal swabs and 20 pharyngeal swabs from RSUD patients. City of Padang Sidempuan Infection testing was performed within the research facility by turn around transcriptase polymerase chain response (RT-PCR). Information were analyzed employing a chi-square test with p < 0.05. Judging from the nasopharynx and oropharynx positive rate comes about, the nasopharynx positive rate esteem is higher than the nasopharynx positive rate esteem, indeed in case it is the same persistent. The conclusion of this ponder is that the discovery of SARS-CoV-2 by nasopharyngeal swab will be more precise.

Abstract

The skin plays a role in protecting bones and muscles, which are generally soft and elastic. In order for the skin to be well protected, internal and external care is needed. Internal skin care is obtained by consuming healthy foods. While external skin care is through the use of preparations directly on the skin. Several types of skin damage occur due to exposure to free radicals, such as exposure to UV rays. To avoid these dangers, a lotion that can act as an antioxidant is needed. Papaya seeds are rich in antioxidants that can increase skin moisture so that they are recommended as a basic ingredient for making lotion. The purpose of this socialization is to educate the public to be more concerned about health by using the right skin moisturizing lotion. PKM activities were carried out through socialization attended by 50 people around the Pantai Labu sub-district. The socialization material presented was about the use of papaya seed extract lotion as a skin moisturizer. The team also taught participants to be more careful in choosing cosmetics before using them. Increased knowledge was measured based on the pre-test and post-test values ??obtained from all participants. The results showed that there had been an increase in the knowledge of PkM participants, where the level of knowledge became high and very high with a percentage of 50% and 30%. Increased knowledge in the form of understanding about the preparation of papaya seed extract lotion that is stable and has a distinctive aroma. The lotion is also safe for the skin because the acidity level is appropriate and does not irritate the skin.
