Abstract

The research objective was to determine the Pramuka extracurricular program's implementation by analyzing students' reactions to the implementation of Pramuka activities, analyzing programs, changes, and the final achievement of the Pramuka extracurricular education program. This research was conducted from April to December 2020 at SD Strada Bhakti Utama, South Jakarta. This research's type of evaluation is evaluation research with the CIPP model (Context, Input, Process, and Product). Research methods use a combination of quantitative methods and qualitative methods to be used together. Researchers used the purposive sampling technique for sampling where the source of information was the principal, teacher guidance, and students in grades V and VI who were actively involved in Pramuka. Data collection techniques through interviews, documentation study, and observation. The data is taken qualitatively. The results showed that Pramuka activities carried out character building followed the goals and expected outcomes, including students becoming more active in learning, more patient, more focused, more sensitive, more appreciative of friendship, increased knowledge, more empathetic, and life thrifty.

Abstract

namely flavonoids and alkaloids, which can cause the emergence of acne This study aims to investigate how varying concentrations of HPMC gelling agent F1 (4%), F2(6%) and F3 (8%) affect the physical properties of anti-acne serum formulations containing lemon peel extract. The research method employed is descriptive, based on the evaluation of the physical properties of the serum formulations. Organoleptic observations of F1 and F2 show a yellowish-brown color, solid form, and characteristic smell of lemon extract, while F3 is brown, slightly thick, and has the characteristic smell of lemon peel extract. The pH values of F1, F2, and F3 are 5, indicating neutrality. The homogeneity test shows that all formulations are homogeneous. The adhesive strength of F1, F2, and F3 are 2.16, 2.65, and 3.35 seconds, respectively. The spreading power of F1, F2, and F3 are 7, 6, and 5. The specific gravity of F1, F2, and F3 are 1.508, 1.640, and 1.648 g/mL and the viscosity values are 385.95, 439.79, and 500.63 cps. The variation in HPMC concentration affects the results of the serum formulation tests, including organoleptic observations, spreading power, adhesive strength, specific gravity, and viscosity.

Abstract

One extracurricular activity that can shape the character of students for discipline, independence, responsible, has a nationalist spirit and has social attitude and self-skill is Scout activities. This study aims to describe the implementation of scout extracurricular programs by analyzing student reactions to the implementation of scout activities, analyzing the program, and the final achievement of the Scout Extracurricular Education Program. This type of this research is evaluation research with the CIPP model (context, input, process, and product). The research method uses a combination of quantitative methods and qualitative methods (Mix Method). The purposive sampling technique is used for sampling. The source of information in this study was the principal, guide teacher, and students in classes V and VI who were actively involved in scout extracurricular activities. Data collection techniques are carried out through interviews, documentation studies, and observation. Data is taken qualitatively, then analyzed descriptively to describe the implementation of scout extracurricular programs. The results showed that scout activities carried out by character buildings followed the expected goals and results, including students being more active in learning, more patient, more focused, more sensitive, more appreciating friendship, and saving a life.

Abstract

Abstract

The increasing demand for natural-based cosmetics has reshaped the beauty industry, driven by consumers seeking sustainable, eco-friendly, and ethically sourced products. This review explores the current trends, formulation challenges, and scientific innovations in the development of natural-based cosmetics. Key natural ingredients, such as plant extracts, oils, and waxes, are discussed in terms of their benefits, limitations, and formulation complexities. The article also addresses significant hurdles, including stability issues, the need for natural preservation systems, and consumer expectations for product efficacy and sensory experience. Advances in green chemistry, biotechnology, and encapsulation technologies are highlighted as critical drivers for overcoming these challenges. Innovations such as plant stem cells, microbial fermentation, and nanoemulsions have enhanced the performance and stability of natural actives. Looking ahead, the future of natural-based cosmetics lies in further integration of green biotechnologies to create more effective and sustainable bioactive ingredients. By embracing these innovations, the beauty industry is poised to meet consumer demands for high-performance products that are not only natural but also sustainable and ethically transparent.

Abstract

Passiflora foetida L. (rambusa) leaves contain bioactive compounds with potential antibacterial activity against acne-causing bacteria. This study aimed to evaluate the antibacterial effect of ethanolic extracts of P. foetida L. leaves against Propionibacterium acnes and Staphylococcus epidermidis, and to formulate and assess the physical properties of serum preparations containing the extract. Ethanolic extracts at concentrations of 5%, 10%, and 15% were tested using the well diffusion method on Mueller Hinton Agar (MHA), with positive and negative controls. Serum formulations containing 0% (F0), 5% (FI), 10% (FII), and 15% (FIII) extract concentrations were prepared and evaluated for organoleptic characteristics, homogeneity, spreadability, adhesion, pH, and viscosity. The extract demonstrated antibacterial activity against both bacteria, producing inhibition zones at 15% concentration of 5.83 mm for P. acnes and 3.69 mm for S. epidermidis. The inhibition zone diameter increased with extract concentration. All formulations showed good homogeneity, stable pH (approximately 6.0), and acceptable organoleptic characteristics. Spreadability ranged from 9.0–10.0 cm, adhesion time from 8–17 seconds, and viscosity values were 300 mPa·s (F0), 165 mPa·s (FI), 189 mPa·s (FII), and 198 mPa·s (FIII). In conclusion, the 96% ethanolic extract of P. foetida L. leaves possesses antibacterial potential against acne-causing bacteria, while the formulated serum exhibits favorable physical characteristics for topical application and potential as a functional anti-acne cosmetic product.
