Abstract

Smartphones are a real manifestation of technological progress as well as a device that works very complexly with access to the internet, social media and games. E-sports or cybersports connected to the internet network. Excessive use of smartphones, including for Mobile Legends E-sports players, can cause musculoskeletal disorders. Musculoskeletal disorders associated with smartphone use lead to neck muscle fatigue caused by poor posture. Using a smartphone for a long time can cause muscle tension. Long duration of smartphone use is the biggest factor that can cause complaints of neck pain. Purpose: This study aims to determine the relationship between the duration of smartphone use and neck pain in Mobile Legends players on the E-sport team at UPN Veteran Jakarta. Methods: The research design is a correlational study with a cross-sectional approach. Data collection was conducted using a questionnaire. Pain was measured using the NRS (Numeric Rating Scale). Results: Based on the results of statistical tests using SPSS 25.0, it was found that p = 0,002 or p < 0,05. The Pearson correlation coefficient for NRS was r = 1.0 and the duration of smartphone use was r = 0.341. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between the duration of smartphone use and neck pain with a weak relationship level.

Abstract

Low back pain is discomfort in the lower back area in the form of a feeling of pain and discomfort. A flight attendant is a profession that uses high heels when working. The use of high heels can cause changes in the fulcrum of the body when walking. Problems occur when wearing high heels for a long time, causing the lumbar muscles to shorten and lower back pain to occur. The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between the height of the heels and the length of use of high heels with complaints of low back pain in the flight attendants of X Airlines. The parameter used to measure complaints of low back pain is NRS. This research is a correlation study with a cross-sectional approach. Based on the results of statistical tests using SPSS, it was obtained that the p-value = 0.001. Thus, there is a correlation between low back pain complaints with flying hours in 24 hours and the working period. This study did not find a correlation between the height of the heels with complaints of low back pain (p> 0.05).

Abstract

Evidence-based practice (EBP) is a foundational element of a healthcare practitioner to support the clinical adjustment. Evidence-based physiotherapy is integrated between high-quality clinical research, patients' preferences, and clinical expertise. However, in Indonesia, evidence-based practice profiles in physiotherapy have not been explained by the previous study. The current study aimed to identify the evidence-based practice profiles of physiotherapists in Indonesia. The study was descriptive quantitative. The design study used was a cross-sectional study. The inclusion criteria were physiotherapists work in Indonesia, age no more 65 years old (≤ 65 years old), whereas the exclusion criteria were the physiotherapists who were not acting as a physiotherapist and refused to be a respondent. The evidence-based practice questionnaire was distributed by using Google Form. The questionnaire included 11 questions. Most of the physiotherapists attending the course or training were 110 participants (77.5%), joining as a member of physiotherapy organization with the percentage at 95.8%. Most physiotherapists also have specialization areas in the physiotherapy field in which the highest proportion is in musculoskeletal physiotherapy. The experiences of the physiotherapists who participated in the study showed the various years of work, the variation of the average hours of work, and the various numbers of patients treated each day. In addition, most of the physiotherapists read or reviewed the research articles around 2 to 5 articles each month. The study concluded that the physiotherapist’s profiles in Indonesia in their evidence-based practice refer to personal knowledge, experiences, and scientific research. The physiotherapists in Indonesia were active to participate in any kind of personal improvement like attending the courses or training, joining as a member of physiotherapy organization. The thing that needs improvement of the physiotherapist is the awareness to consider the scientific research or literature to support their clinical decision when the physiotherapists care for the patients. The results of this study are expected to be a consideration source for physiotherapists and stakeholders in making policies regarding the implementation of evidence-based practice in Indonesia

Abstract

Introduction: In order to deliver quality care to patients and clients, physiotherapists should implement Evidence Based Practice (EBP) in the area of clinical services. There has been little research into the adoption of EBP among physiotherapists in Indonesia. Aims: This study aims to investigate the attitudes, knowledge, and practice of physiotherapists in Indonesia regarding EBP. Methods: A descriptive, cross-sectional research approach was used to assess physiotherapists' attitudes, knowledge, and practice in Indonesia. An online self-administered questionnaire-based survey containing validated Indonesian versions of the Evidence Based Practice Questionnaire (EBPQ) and sociodemographic variables was distributed to physiotherapists via social media. Results: The questionnaire was completed by 156 physiotherapists, with 73 (46.8 %) men and 83 (53.35 %) women participating. The total EBP Questionnaire (EBPQ) average score was 127.67, with a mean of 5.31 out of 7 (SD = 0.96). The attitude (5.23, S D= 0.95) had the highest EBP score, followed by knowledge (5.25, SD=1.01) and practice (5.23, SD=1.30). Education level (p = 0.001), professional category (p = 0.002), and clinical instructor (p = 0.024) were the characteristics related with increased EBP performance. Conclusion: In summary, physiotherapists in Indonesia have positive attitudes, knowledge, and practices towards EBP. Higher education levels, working as a clinician and educator, and teaching clinical students may all help to enhance EBP implementation.
