Abstract

Abstract : In the era of the development of science and the addition of new departments and universities both in Indonesia and the world, research on integrity is increasing. One of the studies mentioned that many integrity violations were committed by students during exams. Enforcement of integrity can be started with strict regulations for violators. This research aims to explore the dropout sanction for students who cheat as one of the strategies to enforce students' academic integrity. The research uses a case study method with interviews, observations, and documentation studies as data collection techniques. Robert K. Yin's six steps of case study research were used in this study, namely plan, design, prepare, collect, analyze, and share. Data analysis uses data validity by comparing all data obtained with three collection techniques, classifying data based on research questions, combining the data obtained in the form of tables, and finally making conclusions based on the data that has been obtained. The results showed that the impact of dropout sanctions for students who cheat is the emergence of awareness related to integrity values such as honesty, responsibility, the emergence of student confidence in working on exam questions, and being able to reduce the number of students who cheat on exams.

Abstract

This study was aimed at exploring vocational school students’ perceptions of their digital reading during the pandemic and their utilization of various digital media. The participants were eight students from three public vocational schools in Semarang, Central Java. This study adopted a qualitative descriptive method to explore vocational students’ perceptions of digital reading in times of COVID-19 pandemic. Data were gathered through an online semi-structured interview, in which the recording was transcribed and analyzed from the lens of multimodality. The study revealed that during the pandemic, vocational school students reported their difficulties in reading vocational materials in digital files, especially in the portable document format (pdf). The major influencing factors were the rigidity of learning materials in the pdf, the lack of peer interactions after digital reading, and the teachers’ pedagogical moves that might obstruct the development of digital reading skills. In contrast, this study reported that students utilized a plethora of digital media, websites, and applications, including Tiktok, Instagram, Wattpad, and Webtoon to read a wide variety of topics that capture their interests, from social, politics, economics, and romance. This study underlines the importance of enhancing student skills in digital reading in vocational subjects by utilizing various digital media.

Abstract

Kekerasan seksual pada anak dan remaja merupakan permasalahan serius yang mengancam keamanan dan masa depan generasi muda. Siswa sekolah menengah pertama berada pada posisi rentan karena keterbatasan pengetahuan, keterampilan protektif, dan rendahnya kesadaran untuk melindungi diri. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pembekalan keterampilan protektif bagi siswa SMP 9 Maros dalam upaya pencegahan kekerasan seksual. Metode yang digunakan adalah Participatory Action Research (PAR) dengan melibatkan siswa, guru, dan pihak sekolah secara aktif dalam tahapan kegiatan, mulai dari identifikasi masalah, perencanaan, implementasi, hingga evaluasi. Kegiatan dilaksanakan melalui penyuluhan, diskusi, simulasi keterampilan protektif, role play, serta evaluasi melalui pre-test dan post-test. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan pengetahuan siswa mengenai bentuk-bentuk kekerasan seksual, konsep persetujuan (consent), personal boundaries, serta strategi pencegahan. Selain itu, siswa juga menunjukkan keterampilan komunikasi asertif dan keberanian menolak tindakan yang tidak pantas. Program ini diharapkan menjadi upaya berkelanjutan dalam menciptakan lingkungan sekolah yang aman dan mendukung perkembangan siswa secara optimal.
