Abstract

Becoming a Christian means being ready to become a servant of God and participate in completing the Great Commission of Jesus written in the Book of Matthew 28:19. There are many services that a person can take if they want to serve in the church, they can become a pastor who is in charge of giving sermons, become a deacon or elder who is in charge of taking care of the needs of the congregation, become an intercessor, become a Worship Leader or song guide, can also serve in Sunday school and other fields. However, the question that arises is if someone becomes a servant but does not grow in their service, then there is definitely something wrong so that their service seems stagnant or just like that. A person must grow and be fruitful in his ministry so that he can be a blessing to many people. A servant must get out of the stagnation of his service if the place where he serves no longer supports him. Using descriptive qualitative methods with a literature study approach, it can be concluded that. Being a servant who is only lukewarm, neither hot nor cold (Revelation 3:16) will not be used by God as His instrument. Servants who do not grow are of course caused by many things, such as having leaders who are not supportive, having the wrong motivation, serving in the wrong place and so on. A church minister must know when it is time to leave a ministry if it feels it is not growing and bearing fruit.

Abstract

Abstract: The existence of social stratification in society has led to the emergence of marginalized groups. These groups can be recognized as individuals who do not have a permanent place to live, beggars, and other parts of society who are trying to fight against suffering, lack of food, injustice, and discrimination in their lives. In the context of society, Christianity should take an active role in addressing the issue of these marginalized groups. In the New Testament, social stratification is found in the Philippians. This shows that the Philippians experienced marginalization. Various problems both internal and external had to be faced by the Philippians. In the midst of such a situation, Paul gave his views on kenosis in Philippians 2: 5-11. Therefore, through a qualitative research method with library research, this study will explore the marginalization that occurred in Philippi, explore the theological understanding of kenosis in Philippians 2:5-11 and explore the challenges faced in the ministry of marginalized churches in Philippi. As a result, the theological understanding of kenosis in Philippians 2:5-11 provides important principles in facing challenges in the ministry of marginalized churches in Philippi. This research is expected to produce ideas that become proposals for the development of marginalized church services carried out by the Church as a form of the Church's active role in addressing the issue of marginalized groups.

Abstract

Baptism and discipleship are two things that cannot be separated. In the Great Commission of the Lord Jesus, they are intertwined. One of the concepts contained in baptism is union with Christ found in Romans 6:3-6. This is an important theme that believers must understand, especially through discipleship. On the other hand, the author sees the dominance of the Javanese tribe among the Indonesian population. This dominance occurs in the government, economic sectors, and church life. This fact drives this research to actualize contextual discipleship carried out by the Church towards Javanese congregations. One of the concepts of Javanese thought with a common theme of human unity with God is the concept of manunggaling kawulo gusti. Through the literature research method, this concept is explored in depth. This exploration will be seen and interpreted from the baptism perspective in Romans 6:3-6. As a result, there are points of convergence as well as points of difference. The findings obtained will then become material for the actualization of contextual discipleship in Javanese society.

Abstract

The development of increasingly advanced Science and Technology has altered various aspects of human life. Whether consciously or not, this development has also impacted the spiritual component of humans. This article discusses how sin can enter human existence through the senses of hearing and sight, beginning with Eve in Genesis 3:15 and continuing to the present day with the widespread use of digital media. The method utilized is a literature review composed of books and journal articles. The findings of this study indicate that digital media can serve as a channel for sin. Humans can sin because of flawed hearing and words. Through the consumption of indecent materials such as pornography, and the unethical use of visual media, digital media sets up the potential for humans to feed their already sinful tendencies. This action demeans human dignity and undermines cherished Christian values. Sinful individuals require pastoral care. Understanding, support, guidance, prayer, prevention, and long-term recovery must be the focus of the ministry for those who have sinned through digital media use. Therefore, a pastor and pastoral counselors must understand the digital world and the challenges people confront in order to approach problems with wisdom and compassion.
