Abstract

Desa Margasari memiliki potensi wilayah pesisir dengan sumber energi angin, matahari, dan limbah cangkang kerang yang belum termanfaatkan secara optimal untuk mendukung perekonomian masyarakat setempat. Program pengabdian masyarakat di Desa ini bertujuan untuk mendukung sektor ekonomi masyarakat melalui kegiatan penyusunan layout desain teknologi tepat guna berbasis energi terbarukan. Kegiatan penyusunan layout teknologi ini meliputi pembuatan desain sistem teknologi pengeringan ikan berbasis energi matahari, desain turbin angin Venturi untuk solusi kebutuhan energi listrik, dan pembuatan panduan/metode pengolahan limbah cangkang kerang sebagai bahan tambahan pembuatan paving block. Metode pengabdian yang digunakan meliputi: koordinasi, pemetaan kebutuhan, penyusunan layout teknologi, dan presentasi kepada peserta (perangkat desa, masyarakat, dan pelaku usaha tepung ikan). Presentasi difokuskan pada pengenalan desain dan tahapan konstruksi yang dapat dirancang agar dapat diadopsi masyarakat secara mandiri. Layout teknologi tepat guna dirancang untuk memberikan panduan yang jelas, meliputi prosedur konstruksi bertahap dan spesifikasi teknis, sehingga memungkinkan penerapan yang praktis di kemudian hari dan sesuai dengan keperluan lokal masyarakat. Layout teknologi ini juga diharapkan akan memicu realisasi inovasi teknologi berbasis sumber daya lokal yang dapat diterapkan di wilayah Desa margasai serta wilayah-wilayah pesisir lainya.

Abstract

Kegiatan ini dilakukan dengan pendampingan kelompok wali siswa dan guru SD N2 Tambah Subur (TS). Tujuannya untuk membantu masyarakat memahami pola asuh anak yang baik. Metode pelaksanaannya terdiri dari empat tahapan, yaitu tahap warming up, pemaparan, pendampingan, dan penutup. Subyeknya adalah wali siswa dan guru SD N2 TS. Kegiatan ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kebutuhan pengetahuan masyarakat terkait pendidikan anak di keluarga, karena program parenting dari sekolah belum terserap maksimal oleh wali siswa. Oleh karena itu, tim pengabdian memfasilitasi dengan mengadakan pendampingan skala kecil kepada wali siswa dan guru SD N2 TS. Hasil dari parenting program ini menunjukkan 98% wali siswa dan guru memberikan feedback yang baik. Selain itu, 80% kelompok guru mampu menjadi role model bagi wali siswa dalam pola asuh anak di keluarga. Kemudian, 75% wali siswa cukup baik menerapkan pola asuh anak di keluarga.

Abstract

Technology has proven to be a powerful instrument in enhancing students’ enthusiasm and skills in learning English, both in written and spoken forms. Teachers are encouraged to implement creative, interest-based teaching strategies, such as the use of Google Maps App and educational software, to align with students’ preferences and needs. This research investigated the effectiveness of the using Google Maps App as an interactive learning medium to enhance students’ speaking performance in asking and giving for information at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri 2 East Lampung. The research employs a qualitative descriptive method. The research involves the VIIa class, using a combination of observation, test and documentation for data collection. The findings describe that the using Google Maps App App in teaching speaking can enhance students’ performance, motivation and engagement. The research also highlights the potential of using technology and internet-based learning to be an interactive learning medium. This research provides valuable insight for educators in the using technology to developing innovative teaching strategies to enhance students’ speaking performance.

Abstract

This script discusses the increasing students’ ability through brainstorming technique in teaching writing, especially in increasing students’ writing narrative text ability. This study is aimed at responding the following questions: (1) Can brainstorming as a technique increase the students’ Narrative paragraph writing Performance? (2) Can brainstorming as a technique improve the learning process?. The population of this research is the eighth grader of SMPN 3 BatanghariNuban. The number of population is 152 students. The researcher used sampling random technique to take sample. The research design was Classroom Action Research design. The instrument used to collect data was writing test because the students’ scores can be the basic data. The finding result shows that: (1) Brainstorming technique can make good students’ score in writing narrative text ability. (2) Brainstorming technique is effective in teaching writing, especially in writing narrative text.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has significantly changed communication patterns in society, including Islamic da'wah practices. Islamic boarding schools, as centers of Islamic literacy, play a strategic role in responding to these changes to ensure that da'wah remains relevant, ethical, and rooted in Islamic values. This community service activity aims to strengthen language literacy and improve students' understanding of digital da'wah based on Islamic boarding schools. This activity was carried out in the form of academic discussions at the Minhajur Rufaqo Islamic Boarding School, Taman Fajar, East Lampung, involving students and university students. The methods used included interactive lectures, discussions, and individual brainstorming. The results showed an increase in participants' understanding of the characteristics of digital da'wah, the importance of using polite and persuasive language, and the role of students as responsible agents of digital da'wah. In addition, participants came up with creative ideas for utilizing digital media as a means of pesantren da'wah. This activity contributed to the development of an adaptive, ethical, and sustainable pesantren-based digital da'wah model.

Abstract

The study of illocutionary speech acts is important for understanding implicit meaning in literary texts. However, previous studies on illocutionary speech acts in literary texts tend to emphasize classification rather than contextual interpretation of meaning. This study aims to identify the types of illocutionary speech acts in Guy de Maupassant’s short story “A Family.” The data source was the short story, and the unit of analysis consisted of 22-character utterances selected from the dialogues. A qualitative descriptive method was applied using Searle’s theory of illocutionary acts. The findings show three types of illocutionary acts: assertive, directive, and expressive. Assertive acts were the most dominant, functioning to convey information, reflection, and social evaluation. This dominance indicates that the story emphasizes reflective meaning and indirect social criticism.

Abstract

Bahasa memainkan peran penting dalam komunikasi dan interaksi sosial, dengan perkembangan bahasa anak dipengaruhi oleh keluarga, komunitas, dan budaya. Di era globalisasi, bahasa Inggris berfungsi sebagai bahasa internasional dalam pendidikan, bisnis, dan teknologi, menjadikan penguasaan kosakata sebagai fondasi penting bagi pembelajaran bahasa Inggris siswa sekolah dasar. Namun, pengajaran bahasa Inggris di UPTD SDN 3 Rajabasa Lama masih didominasi oleh metode tradisional seperti terjemahan langsung dan hafalan, yang cenderung mengurangi motivasi siswa dan membatasi pengembangan kosakata. Studi ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain pra-uji dan pasca-uji satu kelompok kuasi-eksperimental untuk menguji pengaruh video animasi naratif terhadap penguasaan kosakata siswa. Populasi terdiri dari seluruh siswa kelas V di UPTD SDN 3 Rajabasa Lama, dengan 23 siswa dipilih melalui pengambilan sampel total. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan tes kosakata pilihan ganda yang telah divalidasi yang diberikan sebelum dan sesudah intervensi, didukung oleh lembar observasi. Analisis data melibatkan statistik deskriptif, uji normalitas, dan uji t sampel berpasangan. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan yang signifikan dalam penguasaan kosakata siswa setelah penggunaan video animasi naratif. Skor rata-rata pretest meningkat dari 56,30 menjadi 78,65 pada posttest, dengan peningkatan sebesar 22,35 poin. Uji t sampel berpasangan menunjukkan perbedaan yang signifikan secara statistik (p < 0,05). Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa video animasi naratif secara efektif meningkatkan penguasaan kosakata siswa dengan meningkatkan perhatian, motivasi, dan keterlibatan dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris.

Abstract

This study examines the use of compound words in English-language news reports reporting on the conditions of flood survivors in Sumatra, particularly in describing their struggles with mud, environmental damage, and post-disaster psychological trauma. The purpose of this study is to identify the structural forms, classification types, and semantic functions of compound words used in journalistic discourse on natural disasters. The data source is online news articles from international media published after the floods in Sumatra. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with a morphological approach, based on the theory of compounding and media discourse analysis as developed in recent linguistic studies (Brown Lee, 2025; Ahmed, 2025). Data were collected through text observation techniques and systematic recording, then analyzed by grouping compound words based on their formation patterns, such as noun + noun, adjective + noun, and verb + noun, and interpreting their meaning in the context of the news. The results of the analysis show that compound words have a strategic role in conveying information efficiently and expressively, especially to represent the physical and psychological impacts of disasters, for example flood survivors, mud-damaged houses, and post-disaster stress. In addition to functioning informatively, compound words also strengthen the emotional and persuasive dimensions of news texts, thereby helping readers build a deeper understanding of the conditions of the victims. This study is expected to enrich the study of morphology and media discourse analysis, as well as become a reference for researchers and language learners
