Abstract

Entering the 4.0 industrial revolution, many electronic-based learning media occur to make the learning process becomes more colorful compared to the one-way learning process. Game-based learning is one of the new media that occurs nowadays. Kahoot! is one of the popular game-based learning media that is popularly played in the class. However, the effectiveness of Kahoot!as an assessment media of English lesson is rarely conducted. In this research, the simple linear regression is used as the method. Furthermore, SPSS was used to check the validity and reliability of the questions given to the respondents. Even though there were 65 respondents, the questionnaires could be collected only 39 questionnaires. From the statistic test, the value of t is 5.405 > t table which is 1,998 made H0 is rejected. According to the statistic analysis, it can be concluded that the effectiveness of Kahoot! as an assessment media is only 30%. Some of the respondents argue that it is not very effective especially while showing the rank of the participants.

Abstract

The Community Service Program is a collaboration between Harapan Bersama Polytechnic and Tegal The Community Service Program is a collaboration between Harapan Bersama Polytechnic and Baja Polytechnic Tegal, driven by the need for a more practical and technology-based approach to mathematics education. Students still face challenges in understanding abstract concepts, while the use of scientific computing technologies such as Python and SciPy has not yet been fully integrated into the learning process. This training program is designed to enhance students' understanding through a practical, programming-based approach, covering topics from the basics of Python programming to the application of SciPy in mathematical modeling and problem-solving. The activities are conducted in a participatory manner, encouraging students to actively explore and test concepts directly through digital simulations. Assessment results show significant improvement: students' average scores increased from 50 on the pre-training test to 76 on the post-training test, representing a 52% increase. In addition to quantitative improvements, students also reported tangible benefits in understanding the material and building confidence in using technology in learning. This training demonstrates that the appropriate integration of technology can be an effective solution for enhancing the quality of mathematics education in vocational education settings such as the Baja Polytechnic Tegal.

Abstract

Berkomunikasi menggunakan bahasa Inggris bukanlah sesuatu yang mudah bagi pelajar di Indonesia. Masih banyak pelajar, bahkan mereka yang sedang menempuh pendidikan tingkat tinggi, yang merasa bahasa Inggris sulit untuk dipelajari. Walaupun bahasa Inggris sudah diajarkan sejak SD, namun masih ada siswa yang belum bisa atau kurang percaya diri berkomunikasi dengan menggunakan bahasa Inggris. Sebagian besar masalah mereka adalah kosa kata. Banyak dari mereka yang masih bingung menerjemahkan Bahasa Indonesia ke Bahasa Inggris karena kurangnya kosa kata Bahasa Inggris. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang dilaksanakan difokuskan pada pengayaan kosa kata kepada siswa pendidikan tinggi khususnya siswa sekolah menengah kejuruan. Urgensi penguasaan bahasa Inggris demi komunikasi oleh siswa SMK adalah sebagian besar dari mereka ingin melamar pekerjaan setelah lulus. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah metode pembelajaran gamifikasi yang dikenal dengan istilah rantai kata. Tujuannya agar siswa merasa bahwa belajar dan menghafal kosa kata itu menyenangkan untuk dilakukan. SMK N 1 Brebes dipilih menjadi objek pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini karena sekolah tersebut mempunyai visi untuk mempersiapkan siswanya agar mampu bekerja tidak hanya di perusahaan dalam negeri tetapi juga di perusahaan internasional setelah lulus.

Abstract

Personal branding adalah cara untuk membentuk persepso apa yang akan disampaikan dari diri seseorang yang nantinya akan dipandang oleh individu lain. Personal branding memunculkan persepsi apa yang akan digambarkan pada diri individu yang akan mempengaruhi bagaimana cara pandangan individu lain dan individu lain mulai paham apa perbedaan diri kita dengan individu lain. Tujuan dari pengabdian ini adalah untuk mengetahui strategi personal branding yang merupakan suatu perencanaan untuk mengelompokkan keunggulan dan memunculkan pendekatan untuk mencapainya. Penelitian dalam pengabdian ini diawali dengan menggunakan pre test yang digunakan untuk mengukur pengetahuan dan pemahaman siswa sebelum akhirnya kegiatan pemaparan materi dan menggunakan post test untuk mengukur mengukur pengetahuan dan pemahaman siswa setelah kegiatan pemaparan materi untuk mendeskripsikan dan memahami fenomena yang ada serta mengambil makna dan memperoleh pemahaman dari kasus tersebut.

Abstract

Guna peningkatan reading siswa SMK Karya Bhakti Brebes maka  dilaksanakan PKM pada Kamis, 15 Juni 2023 pukul 09.00-11.00 dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran STAD. Dengan menggunakan website quizizz untuk pengerjaan pretest, gruptest dan postest. Siswa berasal dari jurusan Rekayasa Perangkat Lunak (RPL). Hasil dari pelaksanaan PKM ini menunjukkan siswa lebih mudah memahami bagaimana cara membaca yang efektif dengan metode scanning dan skimming. Materi reading yang diujikan juga mudah dipahami para siswa sehingga tidak terlalu membebani para siswa dalam menjawabnya.
