Abstract

Abstract

Labor in a woman begins when the uterus experiences contractions with increasing intensity. One of the easy preventive measures is mobilization during labor with upright position and sim position. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of upright position and sim position to overcome accelerated labor in the first stage at the Rahmawati clinic in 2024. This type of research uses the Quasy Experimental method with One Group Pre-test Post-test. The population in this study were all mothers giving birth at the Rahmawati Clinic. The sample taken was all mothers giving birth who came to the Rahmawati clinic totaling 30 people. The sampling technique used accidental sampling. Measurement of the length of the first stage uses the duration of minutes since the mother giving birth was diagnosed with active phase I labor. Data analysis used the Wilcoxont test. The results of the study conducted on 30 mothers giving birth showed a significant change in the acceleration of active phase I labor after the intervention was carried out. Before the intervention, only 9 out of 30 mothers gave birth experienced rapid labor, while the other 21 mothers experienced slower labor. However, after the intervention, the number of mothers who experienced rapid labor increased drastically to 28 out of 30, while only 2 mothers still experienced slow labor. The results of the statistical test showed a Z value of -4.359, which indicated a significant difference between the conditions before and after the intervention. The p-value of 0.000 (p <0.05) indicates that this result is very statistically significant, so there is a difference in the acceleration of active phase I labor before and after using the upright position and sim position.

Traditional Indonesian massage is a form of physical therapy and part of cultural identity and ancestral heritage that is maintained and passed on from generation to generation. The phenomenon of traditional Indonesian massage is an important part of the culture and healing tradition, which includes various massage techniques passed down from ancestors and has roots in beliefs, traditional healing practices, and the local heritage of the Indonesian people. Fever in babies can cause anxiety in the mother. A safe solution that minimizes drug side effects is non-pharmacological therapy. This research aimed to determine the impact of traditional massage on reducing fever in babies. This type of research is quantitative research. Sampling was carried out using a purposive sampling technique with a total of 60 babies who had fever criteria. Data analysis used the t-test. The study's results showed that the average temperature measurement for babies before the traditional massage was 38.15 degrees Celsius (low fever), while the average temperature measurement for babies after the traditional massage was 36.78 degrees Celsius (normal). The results of the statistical hypothesis analysis show that traditional massage has a significant effect on reducing fever in babies. This means traditional massage can significantly reduce fever in babies, with an average reduction of 1.37 degrees Celsius. This research contributes to providing information to mothers and midwives about the benefits of baby massage for treating fever, baby growth and development.

Abstract

Labor pain is the main problem experienced by mothers giving birth. One method of reducing pain without medication that can be given continuously, is cost effective and has low risk is acupressure therapy and deep breathing relaxation. The aim of this research is to determine the comparison of acupersure therapy and breathing relaxation in reducing labor pain. This research is a type of Quasy Experimental research with a Two Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The population in this study was 30 mothers in the first stage of labor who experienced labor pain. Data collection uses observation sheets. Data analysis used the t test. The research results showed that there was a comparison of the average pain scale between the acupressure therapy group and deep breathing relaxation in reducing labor pain in mothers in the first stage of labor. The average pain scale in the acupressure therapy group was 3.07. Meanwhile, the average pain scale in the deep breathing relaxation group was 4.40. There was an average difference of 1.33 points. The results of the t-test statistical test between the acupressure therapy and deep breathing relaxation groups showed a value of p = 0.033 (p < 0.05), which means Ha was accepted. So the results of the analysis stated that there was a significant comparison between the acupressure therapy and breathing relaxation groups in reducing labor pain in mothers in the first stage of labor at (PMB) mursalina in 2023. The conclusion of this research is that acupressure therapy is more effective in reducing labor pain compared to deep breathing techniques.
