Abstract

Chicken aging is a food that is consumed by almost every community, because the price is quite affordable and delicious. This results in considerable feather waste and if not processed properly can result in environmental pollution. Feather waste is produced on average 6% of the weight, so processing technology or creativity is needed in its utilization. For the development of science and technology, research has been conducted on the processing of chicken feather waste into building materials in the form of wall panels. The results of the research are expected to meet the needs of building materials and become an alternative wall panel material. Its abundant availability provides new references in science in the field of architecture and information on environmentally friendly materials. In 2021, the PKM team has provided education about the use of chicken feathers as an environmentally friendly panel material to Borisallo Village residents. As a follow-up, the PKM activity implementation team again carried out activities in the form of training in processing chicken feather waste into panels. The results of these activities can increase the knowledge and skills of Borisallo Village residents in processing and producing wall panels from chicken feather-based materials.

Abstract

The ideal area of Green Open Space (RTH) is at least 30% of the area of urban areas. However, in reality, the availability of Green Open Space inalmost all cities in Indonesia only reaches 10% of the area on average. The limited availability of Green Open Space and the uneven distributionand concentration of green open space at certain points in several areas result in unequal growth and development of the city and tend to be chaotic. This study aims to identify the availability of Green Open Space and to analyze the optimization of the distribution of green Open Spaceaccording to its type and function in Makassar City. This research was carried out in Makassar City by taking the study location in Banta-bantaeng Village, Rappocini District, Makassar City, with the research time starting from July 2016 to April 2017. The methods used in this studyare qualitative descriptive methods and quantitative descriptive methods. The qualitative descriptive method was used to identify the availabilityof the types and functions of Green Open Space while the quantitative descriptive method was used to describe the need and distribution of greenopen space in Makassar City through the calculation of simple mathematical formulas and projections of the number of population. The results ofthis study show that the availability of green open space in Makassar City, especially in Banta-bantaeng Village, has not met the standard of green open space needs reviewed from the area and the number of population. The results of this study also show that the distribution of open space hasnot been optimally distributed, among other things, due to the limited free space in several areas of Banta-bantaeng Village caused by denseresidential areas

Abstract

Abstract

The Puta Dino Kayangan Weaving Craft Center is a cultural heritage of the Tidore people that has high historical, economic, and social value. However, the facilities and infrastructure in the Center are still minimal to meet and accommodate the activities within it. This study aims to design the development of a weaving craft center that is able to accommodate the needs of managers, craftsmen, mass pattern arrangement, strengthen local cultural identity through the concept of building form taken from one of the tools in the weaving process, namely the yarn spinning tool, the concept of the building roof whose shape not only creates a unique and iconic visual impression, but also represents the philosophy while strengthening the visual identity of the building as a center for weaving crafts and the use of woven motifs on the secondary skin of the building facade, as well as encouraging the growth of the creative economy with supporting activities. The types and sources of data used in this study are primary data and secondary data. The results of the study indicate the need for space for manager activities, functional production spaces and supporting spaces as a strategy to attract visitors.
