Abstract

Likurai dance is a traditional dance, a type of war dance that is typical of the Belu area, East Nusa Tenggara. The dance is a dance to greet the heroes who come home from the battlefield. Likurai dances are usually performed by several male dancers using swords and female dancers using Tihar or small drums as their dance attributes and are often showed in various events such as welcoming honored guests and traditional ceremonies. Research objective is to analyze the creativity of Likurai dance choreography. The method is interpretative qualitative research method, interdisciplinary approach. Data collection techniques are observations, interviews, and document studies. The validity technique of the data used is source triangulation. The data analysis technique uses the choreography concept according to Hadi Sumandiyo and Muhammad Jazuli. The results of research on creativity in choreography found new ideas in the form of motion, exploration, improvisation, composition. The implications of this research are as an educational media and the local subject of art learning.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This Community Service aims to increase dance creativity among students at SMAN 3 Fatuleu through training in traditional dance movements and modern creations from East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). The method used consists of practical and theoretical approaches and involves intensive training which includes basic NTT Traditional and Creative dance techniques. Regarding the practical approach in this activity, one of the professional dance trainers involved 30 students. As a result of this activity, students performed in creative artistic activities with confidence. It is hoped that this activity will not only contribute to increasing students' creativity but also strengthen their love for local culture.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to provide training in creative dance and facilitate the performance of dance works at SD Negeri Sikumana 2 Kupang. The focus is on creative dance training and performance, involving 30 students as training participants and 200 students as performance participants. The activity successfully enhanced students' understanding of the development of creative dance in NTT. During the training, students were guided by dance mentors to learn proper dancing techniques and practice new creative dances. The training results were then presented in an art performance held at the end of the activity. The program received a positive response from the school and is expected to be conducted regularly to support arts activities in schools.
