Abstract

The development of post-disaster residential building prototypes is a build-ing design prototype intended for disaster homes that have been designed in previous research. The next research that’s improved on the aspect of reliability in terms of the use of structures, materials, and construction used in the prototype that's can be applied in the field according to the needs of users who are comfortable and safe. To find the optimal building design from the aspect of building safety so that it does not collapse, it is necessary to take into the aspects of equilibrium of form, geometric stability, and rigidity shape that can stand upright and function when inhabited. The composition of the building elements consists of floor, wall, and roof elements that are composed of building materials using light weight steel. The structural arrangement used uses the truss method as a structural system that is simple and easy to implement. To get confidence that the building can stand upright and not collapse due to the loads acting on it, it is necessary to do an analysis using the problem-solving analysis method in stages on the building structure. The treatment results found that the level of displacement of the building caused by horizontal loads did not significantly affect the shape of the building, meaning that the building could still function according to its use. The use of light steel material for the Canal C-75 Smart Truss Classic Frame which is used as a roof frame and wall structure is still able to overcome vertical or horizontal loads acting on the building. This is done so that the confidence that the planned building prototype can be implemented safely in the field as expected.

Abstract

PT XYZ is one of the companies engaged in the precast concrete manufacturing industry which is specially designed to meet the needs of industrial markets such as high-quality building and building construction. The machine under study is the machine used for assembling the spun pile reinforcement frame in the rotary workshop. The purpose of this study is to analyze the application of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) through the effectiveness and efficiency of heading machine performance and analyze the factors that affect the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) value and present a proposed heading machine maintenance strategy. The method used is OEE with Six Big Losses analysis. For the analysis of the six big losses on the OEE value, namely the value of Idle and minor stoppage (a decrease due to many machine stops) which is a factor that has the largest percentage of the six big losses with a resulting factor value of 7.0%. Then followed by reduced speed losses (decrease in engine speed) of 3.96% and then deffect losses of 3.48% and the three other factor values, namely breakdown losses, setup losses, and yield losses. Measurement of the level of effectiveness and efficiency of the heading machine at PT XYZ using the OEE method for the period 2022 in January - December obtained an average value of 78.28%. The resulting value is still far from the ideal OEE standard value of 85% which refers to the world class standard. The lowest OEE factor value is obtained from the calculation of Performance Efficiency of 86.29% where it is necessary to update the machine maintenance scheduling so as to increase the efficiency of the heading machine performance that supports the production speed of the company.

Abstract

In the current era of globalization, a company must always try to have the ability to compete with other companies. The issue of inventory planning and control is one of the most important things every business has to face. This study aims to determine the picture of inventory management using Min-Max Stock at PT Artha King Indonesia and find out the amount of inventory costs incurred using the Min Max Stock method. The type of research used is quantitative descriptive research conducted at PT Artha King Indonesia. We recommend that data collection uses primary data from interviews and company observations. While secondary data is obtained from historical company data. The results of this study show that theoretically the minimum and maximum limit values of stock, safety stock, and reorder level (Q) are different for each raw material. Furthermore, by using a policy proposal with the minimum inventory method, the cost calculation results show that the annual costs incurred by the company are lower because there is no excess or out-of-stock material during the warehouse period. Knowing the results of theoretical calculations of the above values, it is possible to evaluate the policies used today so that in the future the company can minimize the costs incurred and maximize profits.

Abstract

The manufacturing industry faces challenges to improve efficiency and productivity amid increasingly fierce global competition. This study aims to analyze waste in the sarong weaving production process at CV. XYZ is using the Lean Manufacturing approach with the Waste Assessment Model (WAM) method. The results showed that the two most critical types of waste were transportation (20.95%) and inventory (20.64%). The root causes of transportation waste include inefficient fabric movement and narrow transportation lanes, while inventory waste is caused by the accumulation of goods in process (WIP) and the policy of purchasing raw materials in large quantities. The proposed improvements include layout optimization, efficient means of transportation, inventory management training, and line balancing implementation. The recommendations are projected to reduce production lead time by 13.60%, from 1,265 minutes to 1,093 minutes. This research makes a significant contribution to the application of Lean Manufacturing in the traditional textile industry.

Abstract

In the manufacturing industry, the balance of the production trajectory is an important factor in increasing productivity and efficiency. In the production process at PT XYZ, there are problems with the balance of the production trajectory at the workstation, so it is necessary to determine the optimal production trajectory so that the load on the workstation can be evenly distributed and able to reduce idle time. The Ranked Positional Weight (RPW) and Region Approach (RA) methods were chosen in this study. The main bottleneck was found at the hole cutting stage, where tool limitations caused output differences between manual and machine processes. This imbalance resulted in idle time which affected the overall production efficiency. The analysis results show that the application of RPW and RA methods is able to improve trajectory efficiency by optimizing the number of work stations and reducing idle time. The analysis results state that the company can achieve a trajectory efficiency of 88.48% and reduce the balance delay from -16.67% to 15,73% and a smoothness index of 611,25%.

Abstract

PT Sumber Mas Indah Plywood is a manufacturing company engaged in the furniture sector with product specialization in plywood manufacturing furniture and plywood furniture. The research was conducted in January-December 2023 using the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) method to determine the effectiveness value of the machine. The objective of this study is to improve the performance of the double saw machine and propose improvements at PT Sumber Mas Indah Plywood to improve production quality. This study was conducted to measure the effectiveness of the double saw machine to determine its effectiveness value. the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) method is used here to measure it. The OEE value is affected by three factors, which are the availability, performance, and quality. The results obtained are that the effectiveness of the machine is still quite high, with an OEE value of 83.54% and still below the OEE standard value of 85%. To improve OEE, additional steps could include the identification of emerging problem. This allows improvement efforts to be directed towards addressing major challenges. The recommendation for the proposed repair of the double saw machine owned by PT Sumber Mas Indah Plywood should be used as a preventive maintenance strategy where the strategy can be carried out to monitor the machine so that it is in prime condition and ready to use and preventive steps can be taken before a problem occurs on the double saw machine.
