Abstract

PT XYZ manufactures tapioca flour. This company faces various wastes in its production process, including defects, waiting, unnecessary inventory, overprocessing, unnecessary motion, overproduction, and transportation. This study uses a lean manufacturing approach, Value Stream Mapping, to identify and minimize waste, enhancing production time efficiency, and the kaizen method as a proposed improvement. The research was carried out through production flow mapping using Current Value Stream Mapping (CVSM) to pinpoint inefficiencies, Value Stream Analysis Tools (VALSAT) to determine tools, and fishbone diagrams for root cause analysis. Production efficiency is measured by Process Cycle Efficiency (PCE) before and after repairs. Proposed improvements include the implementation of kaizen through PDCA and 5S methods, as well as the preparation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and the use of trolleys to improve the efficiency of product transfer. The results indicated a reduction in production lead time from 1,429 minutes to 1,194 minutes and a PCE increase from 63.89% to 76.47%.

Abstract

PT. XYZ adalah perusahaan yang memproduksi garden furniture. Adirondack chair merupakan salah satu jenis garden furniture dengan permintaan terbanyak. PT. XYZ memiliki permasalahan dalam proses produksi adirondack chair, yaitu tidak terpenuhinya target produksi, dan sering terjadi bottleneck yang menyebabkan tingginya waktu menganggur stasiun kerja, dan rendahnya efisiensi lintasan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini, yaitu untuk memperbaiki lintasan produksi agar waktu menganggur stasiun kerja berkurang, dan memperoleh tingkat efisiensi lintasan yang tinggi. Dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan tersebut dapat dilakukan dengan analisis line balancing menggunakan metode Region Approach. Metode Region Approach adalah salah satu metode line balancing yang memakai teknik pengurutan waktu operasi kerja berlandaskan pendekatan wilayah. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dengan metode Region Approach menunjukkan terjadi perbaikan performansi lintasan produksi adirondack chair. Hal itu dibuktikan dengan efisiensi lintasan yang meningkat dari 76,03 % menjadi 95,14 %, balance delay menurun dari 23,97 % menjadi 4,86 %, smoothness index menurun dari 19,54 % menjadi 3,59 %, total waktu menganggur stasiun kerja menurun dari 38,03 menit menjadi 5,34 menit, jumlah stasiun kerja berkurang dari 7 stasiun kerja menjadi 5 stasiun kerja, dan kapasitas produksi per hari meningkat dari 22 unit per hari menjadi 25 unit per hari.

Abstract

Achievements to minimize waste can be done by adopting a Lean manufacturing approach. Lean manufacturing is a concept that can design production processes to be better, faster, and cheaper with minimal space, small inventory, small labor hours, and avoid waste. This research takes the case study of PT Karya Indah Medika which is a company engaged in manufacturing to produce medical devices, medical device service services, and medical device installation. In the company there is still waste, especially in unnecessary movements and product defects. This study aims to identify waste that occurs in the company and provide recommendations for improvements in order to minimize waste and obtain optimal production time. Value stream mapping is used to describe all processes in the company. The results showed that the initial production time of 17 hours 18 minutes could be reduced to 1 hour 55 minutes. Based on the Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) it is known that the root cause of the problem in the highest waste is workers in a hurry so they are not thorough in working with a Risk Priority Number (RPN) score of 294, lack of materials needed for production, placement of tools that are not in accordance with production needs and a warehouse area that is less extensive by 216.

Abstract

PT. XYZ is a wood-made furniture manufacturing company, one of which is a chair with a variety of types like arm chair, a bar drum, a drum counter and side chair. In the process, sometimes some orders are late. It's in the high-solution total time. Therefore, scheduling in the company requires a renewal of methods to identify which methods of scheduling efficiency in reducing production. Campbell dudek Smith's method is used because control processes are done according to the smallest working time used in production. Campbell dudek Smith's methods are appropriate and can be applied to help control the production with a flower-shop system that is more than two machines. Results from research obtained a large schedule at company scheduling FCFS method of 9613425 seconds with job sequence 1-2-3-4. While the Campbell dudek Smith method obtained a period of 9608298 seconds with the job sequence 2-3-1-4. The Campbell dudek Smith method was chosen as a proposal because it had the smallest byline of corporate methods.

Abstract

Occupational Safety and Health (K3) is an aspect that must be prioritized by all companies to protect employees from the risk of work accidents. PT Putra Jawamas is engaged in the repair and fabrication sector which has activities that can trigger work accidents. HIRARC is the right step to be implemented in companies to identify, analyze, and reduce K3 risks that can occur in the work environment. The purpose of this study was to examine the level of K3 risk with a risk assessment method using a risk assessment matrix on work activities carried out at PT Putra Jawamas. The results of the study showed that the work carried out had several different levels of risk, the most extreme level being the welding process which can cause burns. The control efforts that can be made are maintaining quality and using welding equipment according to SOP and using personal protective equipment.

Abstract

This study analyzes the effect of raw material quality and production processes on product quality at PT Berkah Anugerah Inti Semesta. The background of this study is the importance of maintaining product quality to improve competitiveness in the global market. Using a quantitative approach, data was collected through questionnaires distributed to 30 employees involved in the production process and raw material management. The results show that the quality of raw materials and production processes significantly affect product quality, with regression coefficients of 0.144 and 0.657, respectively. The recommendation for future research is to explore other factors that contribute to product quality. The findings emphasize the need for a holistic approach in quality management.
