Abstract

Angka Kejadian stunting di Indonesia masih cukup tinggi. Prevalensi stunting di Provinsi Aceh menempati posisi ke lima tertinggi dengan angka 33,2% menempati posisi ke lima tertinggi secara nasional.  Kabupaten Aceh besar merupakan salah lokasi focus stunting dari 13 kabupaten/kota yang telah ditetapkan oleh pemerintah. Untuk mencegah kejadian stunting ini, intervensi selanjutnya harus melibatkan pada remaja sebagai calon ibu. Keterlibatan remaja dalam upaya mengatasi dan mencegah stunting ini sesuai dengan program Badan Koordinasi Keluarga Beremcana Nasional (BKKBN) dalam bentuk remaja peduli stunting. Remaja peduli stunting ini diberdayakan sebagai konselor bagi remaja sebaya dan ibu yang mempunyai balita. Tujuan kegiatan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan tentang stunting dan keterampilan remaja sebagai konselor remaja terkait stunting. Metode pelaksanaan dilakukan dengan pendekatan edukasi melalui pelatihan konseling gizi bagi remaja tentang stunting: pengkajian, perencanaan, intervensi dan evaluasi. Hasil, terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan remaja tentang stunting sebesar 33,3%. kemampuan memberikan konseling kepada remaja sebaya serta ibu yang mempunyai balita dengan menggunakan keterampilan dasar konseling meningkat sebesar 33,3%. Kesimpulan, setelah dilatih, remaja mampu memberikan konseling gizi tentang anemia gizi, KEK dan dampaknya terhadap stunting kepada remaja sebayanya dan kepada ibu balita.

Abstract

Sindroma metabolik merupakan kumpulan kelainan metabolik komplek yang muncul sebagai faktor risiko penyakit kardiovaskular serta diabetes mellitus tipe II. Komponen utama sindrom metabolik diantaranya adalah obesitas abdomen, peningkatan kadar glukosa darah (sewaktu dan atau puasa), peningkatan tekanan darah dan dislipidemia. Penyuluhan gizi pada pengabdian ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan mengenai sindrom metabolik yang berhubungan dengan penyakit kardiovaskular. Pengabdian masyarakat ini telah dilaksanakan pada tanggal 19-20 September 2022 di desa Lamrukam kecamatan Peukan Bada Aceh Besar. Peserta pengabmas adalah ibu-ibu yang memiliki resiko sindrom metabolic sebanyak 25 orang. Kegiatan pengabmas terdiri dari pre test untuk mengetahui pengetahuan masyarakat tentang sindrom metabolic, pengukuran tinggi badan (TB) dan berat badan (BB) untuk mengetahui status gizi peserta pengabmas, pemeriksaan tekanan darah, pengukuran gula darah, penyuluhan gizi dan post test. Hasil, status gizi peserta overweight yaitu 12 orang (48%), sedangkan tekanan darah   dan kadar gula darah normal yaitu 18 orang (72%) dan 22 orang (88%). rata-rata pengetahuan peserta sebelum penyuluhan gizi yaitu 36 sedangkan setelah dilakukan penyuluhan gizi rata-rata pengetahuan peserta menjadi 64,8. Hal ini dapat disimpulkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan peserta sebesar 28,8%. Kesimpulan, penyuluhan pada peserta pengabdian masyarakat dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat cara deteksi dini kejadian sindrom metabolik.

Abstract

School children (AS) are one of the groups that are vulnerable to nutritional and health disorders. Balanced nutrition is needed in the process of child growth and development, improving good learning abilities, and providing a positive impact on their development in the future. The prevalence of children aged 6-12 years in Indonesia who are underweight (wasting) and very underweight using the BMI/U indicator is 7.6% and 4.6%. One of these nutritional problems can be caused by low nutrient intake both in the past and in the present. This community service activity is to increase school children's knowledge about nutrition and health in an effort to prevent and overcome malnutrition in school children. The selection of school nutrition cadres (KGS) was carried out as role models for healthy school children and had the task of assisting school teachers in implementing TBAS measurements. Providing nutrition education is done through lectures and questions and answers, the media used are power points and leaflets. Knowledge of nutrition and health of school children is assessed before and after providing nutrition education. In this activity, TBAS measurements were carried out. Results: Before being given nutrition education, most of the nutritional and health knowledge of school children was low (76,5%), most of the AS did not eat breakfast (38,2%). The results of the TBAS measurement were partly short, namely boys by 51,3% and girls by 27,1%. Conclusion: There was an increase in student knowledge after being given nutrition education by 34,4%.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the effects of nutrition education on anemia and upper arm circumference in pregnant women. It was a cluster-randomized control study involving 110 pregnant women. The nutrition education interventions, was a combination of offline and online sessions, conducted by trained Nutrition education staffs with a 1:5 ratio to pregnant women. Twelve education sessions were conducted for three months utilizing a nutrition booklet for pregnant women, food monitoring cards, and flyers shared on a social media WhatsApp group. The socio-demographic data were obtained through an interview method. The nutritional status collected, by measuring Mid Upper Arm Circumference (MUAC), and anemia was determined through a diagnosis by the family doctor. Data were analyzed using the chi-square test and the paired and independent t-tests, the confidence interval was set at 95%. Hemoglobin levels in the intervention group experienced a higher increase than in the control group. The MUAC in the intervention group increased by 0.8 cm while in the control group it was decreased by -2.7 cm. However, the Difference in Difference (DID) analysis did not show significant different for both parameters (p=0.198 and p=0.274). Chi square analysis showed that the prevalence of anemia at the end line point in the intervention group (3.6%) was significantly lower compared to the control group (14.5%) (p=0.047). The prevalence of the Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED) measured by MUAC decreased by 9% in the intervention group, and 1.8% in the control group. However, the difference in prevalence of CED was not statistically significant (p=0.696). The nutrition education within three months did not significantly increase the mean hemoglobin and MUAC. But considering the trend in decreasing anemia and CED prevalence in the intervention group, structured and routine nutrition education can be implemented as part of nutritional intervention in pregnant women to prevent anemia and CED to observe effects in a longer-term intervention.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to assess the anemia and nutritional status in adolescent girls. A cross-sectional study was conducted on 348 senior high school girls. Nutritional status was determined by BMI-for-age Z-score for those younger than 19 years and BMI for those older than 19 years. Anemia was determined using the standard of severely low hemoglobin level of less than 12 mg/dL. Data analysis used the logistic regression test at the 95% confidence interval. The results showed that 40.5% of adolescent girls had anemia, 50.9% were wasted, and 14.4% were overweight/obese. Wasting and obesity are risk factors for anemia in adolescent girls. Intervention is needed to prevent anemia and wasting by improving balanced diet and nutrition education.

Abstract

According to Indonesia's SSGI 2022 data, 17.1% of underweight toddlers, particularly in developing countries, suffer mortality related to inadequate dietary intake. Juli II Health Center in Bireuen District reports a 10.0% prevalence of undernutrition among its target of 1,450 toddlers, consisting of 6.6% underweight and 3.4% wasting. Maternal knowledge and attitudes significantly impact child nutritional health and are critical targets for educational intervention. This study aimed to assess the effect of counseling using pop-up book media on mothers’ knowledge and attitudes regarding nutrition for children aged 1–3 years. This quasi-experimental study employed a one-group pretest-posttest design with a non-probability quota sampling method, involving 30 mothers. Data were collected using structured pretest and posttest questionnaires and analyzed using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test. The results showed that the average maternal knowledge score increased from 8.27 (SD=3.657) to 13.37 (SD=1.189), and the average attitude score rose from 43.63 (SD=3.296) to 55.00 (SD=3.904). Statistical analysis indicated significant differences before and after intervention (p=0.000). The study concludes that pop-up book media effectively improve maternal knowledge and attitudes related to fulfilling nutritional needs for toddlers.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus disebabkan oleh kurangnya produksi insulin di dalam tubuh atau terjadinya resistensi insulin. Kacang kedelai dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai makanan fungsional untuk menurunkan kadar gula darah karena mempunyai nilai indeks glikemik rendah kandungan serat yang cukup, sehingga dapat memperlambat penyerapan makanan dalam tubuh, mengandung asam amino arginin yang mampu menjaga keseimbangan hormon insulin. Isoflavon kacang kedelai dalam bentuk Genistein dan Daidzein bermanfaat untuk memperbaiki sel, metabolisme glukosa dan lemak, serta melindungi sel pankreas. Jenis penelitian ini adalah quasy experiment dengan rancangan pre-post dengan dua kelompok perlakuan. Penelitian dilakukan mulai Agustus hingga Oktober 2020. Data yang dikumpulkan adalah kadar gula darah, asupan energy dan karbohidrat, indeks glikemik, status obesitas, aktifitas fisik dan genetik. Tahapan penelitian adalah: pembuatan makanan fungsional sari kedelai dan formula kedelai. Makanan fungsional pada kelompok perlakuan diberikan selama 14 hari. Analisa data menggunakan uji statistik t-tes dependent dan independent dengan derajat kepercayaan 95% (α < 0,05) dan dilanjutkan dengan analisa regresi linier ganda. Ada pengaruh pemberian formula kedelai dan sari kedelai terhadap kadar gula darah penderita DM Tipe 2. Rerata penurunan kadar gula darah pada kelompok yang diberikan formula kedelai sebesar 26.30 mg/dl, sedangkan pada kelompok yang diberikan sari kedelai sebesar 17.96 mg/dl. Formula kedelai dapat menurunkan kadar gula darah 8,34 mg/dl lebih besar daripada sari kedelai. Aktifitas fisik yang dilakukan secara teratur mempunyai peran untuk menurunkan kadar gula darah sebesar 33,828 mg/dl. Sari kedelai dan formula kedelai dapat dijadikan sebagai alternatif untuk menurunkan kadar gula darah pada penderita DM tipe 2.

Abstract

The prevalence of lack of consumption of vegetables and fruits in Indonesia in 2018 is very high, namely 95.5%. Meanwhile, in the group of school-age children, the prevalence was higher, namely 96%. Aceh province has a prevalence of less consumption of vegetables and fruit, which is 20.61%. One way to prevent the lack of consumption of vegetables and fruit is by providing nutrition education through. The purpose of this development is to find out the competencies needed in development, find out expert assessments of Flashcard media, and find out the results of field trials on the quality of Flashcard media. The data collection method was carried out using the in-depth interview method to obtain the basis for the concept of developing Flashcard media. The development research procedure that became the reference for researchers in developing vegetable and fruit flashcard was ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The results of the media feasibility test by media experts were 93.3%, material experts were 84.7% and the teacher's assessment was 91.6%. The results of media trials on students at SDN 2 Mata Ie were obtained on a scale of ³ 3 .95 in the good category

Abstract

Stunting among toddlers remains a major nutritional problem in Indonesia, including Aceh Besar Regency. In Gampong Kayee Kunyet, Blang Bintang District, the prevalence of stunting reached 29.82% in 2024. One contributing factor is inadequate complementary feeding practices, particularly low intake of animal protein. Maternal knowledge plays an important role in shaping feeding practices and parenting behaviors. Nutrition counseling using poster media is considered an effective and easily understood educational approach. This study aimed to determine the effect of poster-based nutrition counseling on mothers’ knowledge of high–animal protein complementary feeding among toddlers aged 6–24 months at the integrated health post in Gampong Kayee Kunyet, Blang Bintang District, Aceh Besar Regency. This study employed a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest–posttest approach. The study population consisted of all mothers of toddlers aged 6–24 months attending the integrated health post (n = 21), using a total sampling technique. Data were analyzed using a dependent t-test with a 95% confidence level (α = 0.05) in SPSS. The mean knowledge score increased3 from 12.10 before the intervention to 15.86 after the intervention. Statistical analysis showed a significant difference (p = 0.000; p < 0.05), indicating a significant effect of the intervention. Poster-based nutrition counseling significantly improved mothers’ knowledge of high–animal protein complementary feeding. Health workers and community health cadres are encouraged to routinely use poster media and place them in strategic locations to improve accessibility for mothers of toddlers.

Abstract

Child malnutrition remains a major public health problem worldwide. In Indonesia, the Ministry of Health reported through the Indonesian Nutrition Status Survey (SSGI) that the prevalence of stunting in 2022 reached 21.6%. One contributing factor to poor nutritional status among children is inadequate food provision by parents or caregivers, including daily lunch meals. Nutrition education using appropriate media is one strategy to address this issue. This study aimed to develop a leaflet entitled “Bekal Ku Berkualitas” as a nutrition education medium for parents and caregivers at PAUD–Kindergarten Dinul Islam, Aceh Besar. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, which consists of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The sample consisted of 20 parents or caregivers of children enrolled at PAUD–Kindergarten Dinul Islam, Aceh Besar. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using both qualitative and quantitative methods. Expert validation results showed an average feasibility score of 85.7% from material experts, 81.7% from media experts, and 92.5% from language experts, indicating that the leaflet was highly feasible. The average knowledge score of parents increased from 82.00 before the intervention to 92.25 after the intervention. Statistical analysis revealed a significant difference in knowledge before and after the intervention (p = 0.002). In conclusion, the development of the “Bekal Ku Berkualitas” leaflet as a nutrition education medium effectively improved parents’ knowledge regarding quality food provision for children at PAUD–Kindergarten Dinul Islam, Aceh Besar.
