Abstract

Moral degradation behavior that often occurs in students in general is of particular concern to researchers when they should have an important role as agents of social change in society. This moral degradation behavior describes moral disengagement, namely a person's cognitive mechanism to justify inhumane or morally violating behavior. The purpose of this research is to determine the influence of locus of control on moral disengagement in student organization administrators at Al Azhar University Indonesia. This research uses a quantitative approach with simple linear regression analysis techniques. The subjects in this research were 81 people with the characteristics of being active students who served as administrators in several student organizations at UAI. The research results show that locus of control can be a predictor of moral disengagement in student organization administrators at UAI. The locus of control variable contributes to moral disengagement amounting to 58.9% and the rest is due to other factors. Keywords - Locus of Control, Moral Disengagement, Student Organization Administrators.

Abstract

This literature review explores the relationship between Ramadan observance and psychosocial well-being, with a particular emphasis on its implications for mental health policy within educational environments. Drawing upon a systematic evaluation of existing scholarly literature, this study identifies key psychosocial dimensions positively influenced by Ramadan, including enhanced self-regulation, resilience, and social connectedness among students. The evidence indicates that Ramadan fasting and associated spiritual practices can significantly mitigate stress, anxiety, and depressive symptoms, thereby contributing to improved overall mental health outcomes. However, the review also highlights variations in psychosocial impacts based on cultural contexts, institutional support systems, and individual differences in religious commitment. Importantly, educational institutions often lack clear policies to support students effectively during Ramadan, potentially undermining the observed psychosocial benefits. This review underscores the necessity for culturally sensitive mental health policies that accommodate Ramadan-related practices, facilitating supportive environments for students observing the fasting month. Effective implementation of such policies would require collaborative efforts among educational policymakers, mental health professionals, and community leaders. Limitations inherent in the reviewed studies, such as methodological heterogeneity and context-specific outcomes, are also acknowledged, reinforcing the need for further rigorous research. Consequently, this article provides foundational insights for educational policymakers aiming to optimize psychosocial well-being through evidence-based interventions aligned with Ramadan practices.

Abstract

Corporate crises, such as organizational restructuring and management changes, often create psychological pressure that challenges employees’ ability to adapt and remain productive. One important psychological capacity in this context is resilience. Mindfulness has been widely discussed as a potential factor that supports individuals in managing stress and adversity. This study aims to examine the role of mindfulness in predicting employee resilience during a corporate crisis. A quantitative correlational design with a cross-sectional survey approach was employed. Data were collected from employees of Company X using the Mindful Attention Awareness Scale (MAAS) and the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC-25). Simple linear regression analysis was conducted to test the proposed hypothesis. The results indicate that mindfulness has a positive and statistically significant effect on resilience (p = 0.01). However, the contribution of mindfulness to resilience is relatively modest, accounting for 4.8% of the variance. These findings suggest that while mindfulness plays a meaningful role in enhancing employee resilience during crisis situations, resilience is also influenced by other organizational and individual factors.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of locus of control and self-regulation on moral disengagement in first-year students at Al-Azhar Indonesia University (UAI). Moral disengagement is a psychological mechanism that allows individuals to abdicate moral responsibility for harmful actions. This study used a quantitative approach with a correlational design and purposive sampling. The instrument consisted of valid and reliable locus of control, self-regulation, and moral disengagement scales. Multiple linear regression analysis showed that locus of control and self-regulation simultaneously had a significant effect on moral disengagement. However, partially, only self-regulation had a significant negative effect, while locus of control had no significant effect. The findings indicate that self-regulation is the dominant factor in suppressing moral disengagement in first-year students. Theoretical and practical implications are discussed for the development of psychologically based interventions in higher education.
