Abstract

Banyumas Old Town, once the capital of the district, is home to numerous historical buildings recognized as cultural heritage or potential cultural heritage sites. Since 2010, this area has been designated as a protected zone focused on environmental preservation. This research aims to describe and analyze the policies implemented for the preservation the historic buildings in Banyumas Old Town, as well as to identify and address the challenges faced in the preservation efforts. Utilizing legal research methods, particularly a case study approach, the study employs qualitative analysis. The data include secondary sources, comprising both primary and secondary legal materials. Additionally, field data were collected through observations and interviews. The findings indicate that the revitalization plan for Banyumas Old Town has been successfully implemented. Key action include designating the Banyumas sub-district as a protected area, conducting an inventory of suspected cultural heritage objects (ODCB), officially recognizing cultural heritage sites, and securing funding through the local government budget (APBD). These policies are formalized through the establishment of regional spatial planning and cultural heritage regulations. The primary obstacle to protecting cultural heritage buildings is the significant number of sites that have been privatized, alongside the limited opportunities for transferring cultural heritage or ODCBs that have received government renovation support following the revitalization of Banyumas Old Town.

Abstract

This research highlights a series of funeral events starting from the announcement of the news of death to post-death prayers. Qualitative methods were used in this study to gain an in-depth and comprehensive understanding. This research design refers to ethnographic research that allows researchers to participate and directly observe the phenomenon. Research data in addition to participatory observation was also collected through in-depth interviews with the community. While the data analysis technique used is content analysis technique. The findings of this research are: (1) interfaith prayer began because of the diversity of religions that exist in one family as well as ancestral heritage; (2) the phenomenon of interfaith prayer is an effort of the Cisantana hamlet community in maintaining harmony in the midst of diversity; (3) the phenomenon of interfaith prayer is a manifestation of a high sense of brotherhood and a form of implementation of the 3 main Sundanese teachings namely silih asah (learning from each other), silih asih (caring for each other), silih asuh (loving each other).[Tulisan mengeksplorasi praktik moderasi beragama masyarakat desa Cisantana, Kuningan, Jawa Barat melalui praktik doa pasca meninggal lintas iman.

Abstract

This study develops a method for producing microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) from cassava stem waste, aiming to reduce dependence on imported cellulose and promote the utilization of agricultural residues. Cassava stems contain a high cellulose fraction and hold potential as a raw material for pharmaceutical-grade MCC. This study investigates the effects of sulfuric acid concentration and hydrolysis temperature on the yield and quality of the resulting MCC. The production process consists of three main stages: delignification using 25% sodium hydroxide, bleaching with 2% hydrogen peroxide, and acid hydrolysis using sulfuric acid at concentrations ranging from 1.5 N to 3.5 N and temperatures between 60°C and 100°C. The resulting MCC was characterized using Particle Size Analysis (PSA), X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), and organoleptic testing. The best results were obtained at 1.5 N sulfuric acid and 60°C, yielding 68.24% MCC with a cellulose content of 63.07%. PSA results showed particle sizes of approximately 25.3 µm, which comply with pharmacopeial standards. XRD and SEM analyses confirmed good crystallinity and appropriate morphology. This study demonstrates that cassava stems can be processed into MCC that meets key specifications of the British Pharmacopeia, offering a low-cost and sustainable raw material for industrial and pharmaceutical applications.
