Abstract

This qualitative study, grounded in a constructivist framework, investigates the role of social media in transforming Millennials and Gen Z from passive consumers into active co-creators of Christian learning. Through an analysis of participatory interactions on platforms like Instagram and TikTok, the research examines how these digital environments facilitate the collective construction of religious knowledge. Findings reveal that user-generated content, dialogical exchanges, and communal interpretation of scripture empower young believers to shape personalized and contextually relevant theological understandings. The study concludes that social media acts as a pivotal catalyst for a participatory paradigm shift, fostering a dynamic, peer-driven faith formation process that redefines contemporary Christian pedagogy.

Abstract

The indigenous population of Papua consists of various tribes, cultures, and languages, and they inhabit the coast, riverbanks, valleys and mountains, with the majority adhering to Christianity. As Christians, most Papuans believe in the Bible as their source of teaching and guidance. Unfortunately, until now, the Papuan people have experienced various limitations in teaching the Holy Bible. Tribal languages are one of the causes of the obstacles in question, so it is related to teaching and faith formation in several places that use local languages. This encourages local people called to the ministry to equip themselves with Bible knowledge and skills that will hopefully enable them to develop themselves to serve the people in the area in question. Researchers conducted a study of students at the Indonesia Cross-Cultural Institute. They found that literacy became the main obstacle for local missionaries in the interior of Papua in interpreting the contents of the Bible. The process of fostering students at Indonesia Cross-Cultural Institute includes three essential things: the Stage of Knowledge of God, the Stage of Character Building, and the Stage of Knowledge and Skills. The method used in writing this article is qualitative research conducted through interviews and literature studies. Finally, this article proposes steps churches and education providers can take for prospective church service workers in Papua.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technology has transformed how faith is practiced and how Christian Religious Education is delivered, necessitating a theological reinterpretation of religious formation in digital contexts. This study aims to develop a theoretical framework that integrates theology, ethics, digital literacy, and spirituality to guide Christian education in the digital era. Employing a qualitative literature review method, the study analyzes scholarly works on digital theology, education, and ethics to examine how digital environments shape faith formation, moral reasoning, and community engagement. The findings reveal that digital media functions not merely as a communication tool but as a formative environment influencing spiritual identity and ethical behavior. The proposed digital Christian Religious Education model emphasizes four interrelated dimensions: theology as the foundation of faith, ethics as responsible digital citizenship, digital literacy as critical engagement, and spirituality as holistic formation across physical and virtual spaces. This study contributes to global discourse by offering an integrative and contextual approach that empowers Christian educators to foster authentic spiritual growth and responsible digital discipleship in an increasingly networked world.

Abstract

Abstract

This research explores Smokol Tinutuan as one of the habits of the Minahasa people and also as a philosophy embraced by Minahasa people who living in North Sulawesi Province. In their daily lives, the culture of smokol (breakfast) or shared breakfast is integral to the Minahasa people (in local language call Tou Minahasa), not only in North Sulawesi but also wherever the Minahasa people have migrated, even abroad. The culture of smokol together with Tinutuan has become like a ritual for the Minahasa people. Unbeknownst to many, Smokol Tinutuan contains a philosophy that is deeply embedded in the Minahasa person's character, promoting values such as gratitude and harmonious living together. From these two values, I have drawn parallels with the values of the Kingdom of Heaven in the Bible. The philosophy of Smokol Tinutuan can be seen in several Biblical stories about the character of strong leaders. If this philosophy is developed in Christian Religious Education, it can serve as a foundation to build excellent character and mentality, much like the leaders in the Bible, such as Daniel and his three friends in Babylon, as well as the disciples of Christ with Christ by the shores of the Sea of Galilee.

Abstract

This study analyzes the political trajectory of Unitarian theology from heresy to liberty and its contemporary relevance. Employing a qualitative descriptive analysis method, the findings reveal: The Origin and Development of Unitarianism, tracing its roots from early anti-Trinitarian thought (such as Arianism) to its crystallization during the Reformation through figures like Michael Servetus, and its evolution into a liberal movement in America. The Theological and Political Conflict with Trinitarianism is multidimensional; the rejection of the Trinity was perceived as a challenge to both ecclesiastical and state authority, inciting persecution and influencing political stability. Religious Freedom in the Modern Era demonstrates a paradigm shift: from a persecuted minority, Unitarianism became an architect of religious freedom thought and the separation of church and state, particularly within the Enlightenment and American constitutional contexts. The Socio-Political Implications of its doctrine are significant, fostering democracy, pluralism, social justice, and rational education. The response of the Orthodox or Catholic Church consistently rejects Unitarianism as a modern form of Arianism that threatens orthodoxy and social order. The study concludes that Unitarianism’s journey is not merely a theological evolution but a dynamic reflection of the dialectic among religious belief, political power, and civil liberty in Western history, while also offering a critical lens for understanding challenges to religious freedom in states with institutionalized theological orthodoxy.
