Abstract

Improving nutritional knowledge can be done with the right media without computer equipment into games that are easy, useful and fun are the most important keys in designing game. This type of research is a quasi-experimental research. The sample in this study were 14 stunting toddlers living in Denanyar Village. The research subjects were children aged 6 – 58 months with a Z score of Weight/Age -3 to 0 SD. Variables observed included changes in nutritional status. Data analysis was carried out using different tests and multivariate analysis with linear regression of dummy variables. After 3 months of intervention, the decrease in nutritional status in the intervention group was lower than the control (p<0.05), there was an increase in the Z score Weight/Length score in the intervention group and a decrease in the Z score Weight/Length in the intervention group. Length in the control group (p<0.05). The mentoring model is more effective than conventional counseling in suppressing the decline in the nutritional status of children aged 6-58 months. It is hoped that the Berakzi group mentoring program can be implemented in a sustainable manner and the target area is expanded so that it can reduce the prevalence of stunting in Jombang Regency.

Abstract

Background: Fluor albus is excessive fluid from vagina that is not menstruation. To reduce the symptoms of fluor albus, non-pharmacological treatment from the decoction water of red betel leaves (Piper crocantum) was used in the present study. These red betel leaves (Piper crocantum) contain alkaloids that the green betel leaves do not have, and the alkaloids play a role as an antimicrobial agent. Besides, the red betel leaves have antiseptic power that is twice higher than the green betel leaves. The red betel leaves (Piper crocantum) also contain carvakrol which is anti-fungal and disinfectant, and it that can be used as an antiseptic medicine to maintain oral cavity health, cure fluor albus disease, and alleviate bad odor. Purpose: The present study aims to discover the effectiveness of the decoction of red betel leaves in reducing the fluor albus symptoms. Method: This study uses quasi-experimental research design with one group undertaking pre- and post-tests. It involved 20 adolescent girls of Al-Adzkia Sentul Boarding School in which the sample was taken using purposive sampling techniques. Further, a closed ended questionnaire is used to collect data, then analyzed using paired t-test. Result: The results showed a meaningful difference before being given treatment for 13.40. After treatment the value became 8.27 with a p-value < of α (0.005). Conclusion: The results this study indicated a decrease in symptoms of vaginal discharge after the use of red betel leaf decoction and recommended it to be used as a form of non-pharmacological therapy or traditional medicine in reducing fluor albus symptoms in adolescent girls.

Abstract

The mother's mortality rate is one of the important indicator in scoring the level of health in a country. It is very high in Indonesia. Pre-eclampsia/ eclampsia which indicate the high blood pressure during pregnancy become one of the factor that lead this mortality rate. The Regular examination of Antenatal care (ANC) is one of the way to avoid the pre-eclampsia/ eclampsia. The purpose of study is to know the correlation of ANC regularity with the occurance of pre-eclampsia/ eclampsia in Puskesmas Peterongan. The design of the study was analytic correlational with retrospective approach. The independent variable was the ANC regularity and dependent variable was pre-eclampsia/ eclampsia. The populations were all pregnancy mothers (gestational age ≥ 36 weeks) with pre-eclampsia/ eclampsia and the lateboring mothers with pre-eclampsia/ eclampsia at Puskesmas Peterongan in 2017 as many as 41 people. Samples used total sampling as many as 41 respondents. Statistical test used spearman rank. Most of the respondents (56,1%) was not regularly to do ANC at Puskesmas Peterongan in 2017 as many as 23 respondents. Most of the respondents (68,3%) had mild pre-eclampsia at Puskesmas Peterongan in 2017 as many as 28 respondents. The result of statistical test gained significant score as much as 0,235 > 0,05 which showed the was no correlation between ANC regularity with the occurance of pre-eclampsia/ eclampsia in Puskesmas Peterongan. The visite of ANC could early detect the pre-eclampsia/ eclampsia. The mother hoped regularly to do the ANC to avoid complication during pregnancy and decrease maternal mortality of mother.

Abstract

Efforts to reduce the prevalence of wasting and stunting are urgently needed. Research on differences in nutritional status and growth of toddlers based on gender and weight can provide important insights into how nutrition interventions and health policies can be tailored to meet the specific needs of these groups. Several studies have shown that boys and girls may have different nutritional needs and may experience different growth rates. In addition, each stage of toddler age also has unique growth characteristics and nutritional needs. This study used a comparative analytical design with a cross-sectional approach. This design was chosen to evaluate differences in nutritional status and growth of toddlers based on gender and weight at a certain time. The population in this study were all children aged 13-59 months at TAUD Al Hanif in 2023. The sample of this study was taken from the population using a stratified random sampling technique. Data collection was carried out using a digital scale instrument, staturemeter, and questionnaire form. The measurement results showed that there were significant differences between the nutritional status of toddlers based on weight and gender as evidenced by the value (p <0.05). Toddlers with normal weight tend to have better nutritional status, while toddlers who are underweight or overweight need special attention. Male toddlers are more likely to have good nutritional status than female toddlers, which may be due to differences in nutritional needs and socio-cultural factors. Appropriate nutritional interventions need to be carried out to ensure that all toddlers, both boys and girls, receive adequate nutrition for optimal growth and development.
