Abstract

Abstract: This study aimed to determine the effect of the hormone combination with 2,4-D and BAP on callus growth Jeruk kuok (Citrus nobilis Lour) and to generate learning module design in senior high school biology. This study used a Factorial Completely Randomized Design from 5 x 4 with three replications. The first factor of 2,4-D (D) consists of 5 levels: 0 mgL-1, 1 mgL-1, 2 mgL-1, 3 mgL-1, and 4 mgL-1. The second factor of BAP (B) consists of levels: 0 mgL-1, 1 mgL-1, 2 mgL-1, and 3 mgL-1. The parameters measured were the time appeared callus, percentage of callus, callus width and texture of the callus. Data were analyzed using ANAVA and tested further with DMRT at 5% level. The results showed that the effect of 2,4-D and BAP significantly influenced the growth of Jeruk Kuok. The combination of 2,4-D and BAP showed the fastest callus in treatment of D4B2 compared to treatment D0B0. The combination of 2,4-D and BAP indicated that 8 treatments had a 100% live percentage value of D3B0, D3B1, D3B2, D3B3, D4B0, D4B1, D4B2, and D4B3. The combination of 2,4-D and BAP shows the highest rate of callus width at D3B2 treatment. The combination of 2,4-D and BAP shows the best callus texture on the treatment of D2B3, D3B0, D3B1, and D3B2. The best treatment of the combination of 2,4-D and BAP hormones is in the treatment of D2B3 to produce embryogenic callus so that it can be used for cell suspension cultures. The results of this study can be used as the design of learning resources in the form of modules in the concept of modern biotechnology high school class XII.Keywords: 2,4-D, BAP, Callus cultures, Module

Abstract

Abstract: Limitations on the material used in learning there needs to be a development of teaching materials which one of them is in the form of learning module. The purpose of this research is to develop learning module based scientific approach to improved the skills of critical thinking of students to the matter fungi a class X. Of research in successor program study education biology of PMIPA FKIP University of Riau and SMAN 1 Pekanbaru in February-May 2016. The kind of research this is research of development by use the model ADDIE was done to the stages of development. An instrument data collection in this research is sheets of assessment/validation modules, students chief response and sheets of the answer students. After module developed, we do testing I in 15 students second semester education biology FKIP UR. Next validated by 4 people validator and testing II in 20 people school tuition class x in SMAN 1 Pekanbaru. The results of validation show a score a whole module obtain the average score 4.14 to a category valid. Consisting of the aspect of content that served with the average score 4.19 category valid, aspects language score was obtained 4.12 to a category valid, next on the aspect of cereal offering have a score 4.15 category valid and facets kegrafisan obtain the average score 4.12 category valid. The results of testing I shows the average value 90 to a category very good. The results of testing II show a score rerata successive is 81 and 80 to a category good. The results of the analysis answer school tuition in learning module 1 shows value 78 category good. Learning module based scientific approach can improved the skills of critical thinking of students and useful for used in learning.Keywords: development, Module, Scientific, Critical thinking, Fungi

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine the scientific literacy skills of students ofclass VII in Junior high school Pekanbaru City based on the 2015 PISA questions. Theschools sampled were SMP Negeri 4 Pekanbaru, SMP Negeri 20 Pekanbaru and SMPNegeri 22 Pekanbaru. This research is descriptive quantitative, determining the sampleusing the stratified random sampling technique, namely the sampling technique that isdone when the population is heterogeneous and the total sample obtained is 104students. This type of research data was obtained from the answers to the 2015 PISAquestions given to students. Data was collected by distributing PISA 2015 questionstaken from the e-book Take The Test Sample Question From OECD's PISA Assessmentin Indonesian translation. The 2015 PISA questions containing scientific literacy weretranslated as many as 14 questions containing biological content. Online sample datacollection using Microsoft word and google form. The data analysis technique wascarried out by calculating the percentage of mastery of scientific literacy in the aspectsof competence and knowledge and analyzed descriptively based on the criteria forscientific literacy abilities. To analyze the data on the results of the 2015 PISA questionanswer test, the scoring was done manually using the answer key obtained from thePISA released science item. The results showed that the achievement of scientificliteracy skills of students of class VII SMP Kota Pekanbaru was 24% with very poorachievement criteria.Key Words: Analysis, Scientific Literacy, PISA 2015 Questions
