Abstract

Abstract : Classroom Action Research has been conducted consisting of two cycles. This study aims to improve the learning outcomes of science students of class VII SMP Negeri 17 Pekanbaru with the integration of character and science literacy in science learning. Research starts from the planning stage, the implementation of the action, the observation stage and the last was done reflection to analyze the deficiencies that occur in the learning activities in order to improve the learning activities in the next cycle. This research was conducted from March to May 2018. The subjects of this study were the students of class VII1 semester of which amounted to 40 students, consisting of 18 male students and 22 female students. Parameters in the study were student learning outcomes consisting of affective apsek, psikomotor and cognitive aspects that consist of students' absorption and mastery of student learning. The results showed the students' learning outcomes increased. On the affective aspect increased from 3.01 (B) in cycle I to 3.08 (B) in cycle II. Psychomotor aspect increased from 78.70 (C) in cycle I to 84.58 with (C) in cycle II. The average score of cognitive aspects of students is 79.87 (C) in cycle I and increased to 81.02 (C) in cycle II. Student learning mastery in cycle I is 72.5% and increased to 85% in cycle II. Based on the results of research, it can be concluded that by integrating the character and science literacy in science learning can improve student learning outcomes of class VII1 SMP Negeri 17 Pekanbaru.Key Words : Character, Science Literacy, Learning Outcomes

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the implementation of the School Literacy Movement (SLM) by observing its impacts toward the scientific literacy, characters, and HOTS of Grade VII Junior High School (JHS) students in Pekanbaru within the context of K-13. The survey was conducted with 45 natural science teachers on the basis that they have integrated K-13 into their teaching and learning. The data of SLM implementation was obtained from the teacher by means of questionnaires and observation which was conducted in science classes in three JHS in pollution and global warming topics. The results showed that 49.13% of activities were successfully implemented by SLM. The results showed that students’ scientific literacy in the three schools were 69.5%, 76.3%, and 75.2%. Meanwhile, the character values have reached 80.6%, 76.4%, 72.9%, and students’ HOTS values were 73.0%, 72.5%, and 73.3%. Based on the survey, it can be concluded that although the school has pioneered SLM, the strengthening of scientific literacy, characters, and HOTS has not been executed by all teachers who implement K-13 due to various obstacles need new policies to assess the execution of the SLM program by the local education department.

Abstract

Abstract: The aim of this research was to determine the relationship of litter thickness with earthworm density in the arboretum area university of riau. The research conducted on November 2018 until January 2019 with a survey method. The determining sampling area based on environmental topography, purposive random sampling with six stations where each station consisted of a 10x10 m plot with a 25x 25 cm plot sampling. Sampel is done by hand sortir method. Measured parametersinclude composition of thetype of earthworm, thickness of litter, density of earthworms, and the relationship of thickness of litter with density of earthworms. The research results found four types of species the highest Pheretima posthuma, Lumbricus rubellus, Pontoscolex corethrurus, and Periyonix excavatus. Density of earthworms was obtained at station VI of 50.6 ind /m2 with thickness of 6.3 cm litter and the lowest density obtained at station I of 16.6 ind / m2. There is a strong relationship with the value of the correlation coefficient (r) = 0.86 and value (R2) = 0.746. The results of the study can be used to design the Biology Learning module for senior high school concept ecosystem.Key Words: Composition of Earthworms, Thickness of Litter, Densitiy of earthworms, Arboretum University of Riau.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine the composition and diversity of soil surface arthropods at the Arboretum of the University of Riau, and obtain alternative learning resources. The method of this research is survey. The location was chosen based on purposive random sampling by considering 5 stations. The parameters used in this study are type composition, population density (ind / m ^ 2), diversity index (H '), dominance (C), similarity index (S), wealth index (d), for physical parameters including temperature soil, soil moisture, light intensity, soil pH, organic matter content. The data obtained are presented in a table then analyzed descriptively to be associated with the learning material. Based on the results of the research that has been carried out, there are differences in the composition of soil surface arthropods at each research station. Of the five stations, the soil surface arthropods obtained consisted of 4 orders and 11 species. The order was found which consisted of Hymenoptera, Collembola, Orthoptera, Coleoptera and Diptera. At the first station, 385 individuals were found. At the second station, 239 insects and 255 insects were found at station III. insects and found 196 IV stations, and insects and found 212 units V. Soil arthropod studies in the Arboretum area of the University of Riau in this study were one form of learning activities that would help students understand ecosystem material that included abiotic components and biotic components of Arboretum. Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine the level of validity of the Student Worksheet (LKPD) Based on Problem Based Learning (PBL) on the Interaction Material of Living Things with the Class VII Middle School. This research was conducted in two places, namely for the validation of the Student Worksheet (LKPD) by the validator carried out in the Biology Education Study Program at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Riau. Then, a limited trial of LKPD that had been developed was carried out at SMPN 2 Bangko Pusako, Rokan Hilir Regency. The time of research is May-October 2019. This type of research is development research using the ADDIE model which is carried out until the development stage. There are 4 LKPD developed. Data collection instruments in this study were LKPD validation sheets, and questionnaire respondents. After LKPD is developed, it is then validated by 5 validators. After that, the first trial was conducted on 15 students of FKIP UR biology education, and the second trial on 20 Class VII students at SMPN 2 Bangko Pusako. Student Based Worksheet (LKPD) based on Problem Based Learning (PBL) on the material interaction of living things with the environment of class VII SMP has been successfully developed with a very valid category.  Keywords: Development, Student Worksheet, Problem Based Learning

Abstract

This study aims to determine the quality of school biology content modules for prospective teachers that are developed based on essential indicators of biological knowledge content. The research was carried out on the campus of biology education at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education in Riau University. The research design used was the ADDIE model. This research was carried out only with the stages of analyze, design, develop. The data in this study are primary data taken using instruments in the form of validation sheets and response questionnaires. Data collected using the Likert scale 1-4, then analyzed using the average formula. Validation was carried out by 5 validators, then limited trials I and II were conducted to undergraduate biology education students. The quality of the developed modules is assessed from 5 aspects namely module format, graphics, illustrations, language, and content eligibility. Based on its validity, the quality of the developed module is feasible to be used with a validity score of all aspects with an average of 3.17 for the first submodule and 3.14 for the second sub-module with a valid category. The mean results of trials I and II on the two sub-modules in sequence were 3.40 and 3.37 with very good categories. Based on these data it can be concluded that the school biology content module is of good quality and has to be used as a source of independent learning.Key Words:Modules, Prospective Teachers, School Biology

Abstract

Abstract: Practicum are required in biological learning to achieve learning goals. The implementation of practicum has several obstacles, one of which during the current pandemic cannot be implemented directly in schools. Therefore, innovation is needed in the learning media to support the implementation of practicums, namely video tutorials. This research aims to develop field practicum tutorial videos to make it easier for students conduct practicum independently. The research was conducted from April – October 2021. Video development tutorial practicum using the ADDIE model consisting of 5 stages, namely Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. However, this study was only done until the development stage. At the development stage, the data source is obtained from the validation sheet and response questionnaire. The result showed that the field practicum tutorial videos developed are of good quality and can be used as a learning medium. The validation results obtained an average score of 3,69 with a very valid category, the results of limited trials of phase I is 3,82 with very good categories, and the results of limited trials of phase II is 3,61 with very good categories.Key Words: Biology, Field Practicum, Video Tutorials

Abstract

Abstract: This development aims to produce an Electronic LKPD Based on Critical Thinking with PBL on quality Class X Environmental Change Materials. The research was carried out at the Biology Education Study Program, FKIP Riau University and SMA Negeri 1 Teluk Kuantan from January to March 2022. The research subject was KD 3. 6 material on environmental changes in class X SMA. The type of research used is the ADDIE Research and Development model. The instruments used are in the form of validation sheets and response questionnaires. The validation sheet consists of 4 aspects, namely aspects of content feasibility, linguistic aspects, presentation aspects, and graphic aspects. The average validation result of the electronic LKPD based on the four aspects is 3.90 with a very valid category. The four aspects include content feasibility aspects 4, linguistic aspects 3.88, presentation aspects 3.92, and graphic aspects 3.81. The results of the limited trial phase I got an average score of 3.91 very good categories. While the results of the limited trial phase II got an average score of 3.92 in the very good category. The results showed that the electronic LKPD based on critical thinking with PBL on the material for environmental change in class X was of high quality and suitable to be used as a learning resource.Key Words: Electronic LKPD, Critical Thinking, PBL, Environmental Change.

Abstract

Abstract: The availability of learning facilities and infrastructure is inadequate in the implementation of independent learning so that the textbooks owned by students cannot be used optimally as learning resources. Therefore, learning resources are needed that can make students play an active role in the learning process. One of the modules is teaching materials that are systematically arranged using language that is easily understood by students. This study aims to develop an electronic module that can be used as an independent learning resource. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of PMIPA FKIP Rian University and SMA N Plus Riau Province in May-September 2021. This Research and Development research used the ADDIE model which consisted of the analysis, design, and development. Data collection instruments in the form of validation sheets and response questionnaires. The validation results obtained an average value of 3.60 in the Very Valid category. The results of the Limited Trial I and the Results of the Limited Trial II obtained an average score of 3.63 and 3.66 in the Very Good category. This study shows that the scientific literacy-based electronic module on the bacterial material developed is valid and feasible to be used as a source of student self-study.Key Words: Bacteria, Science Literacy, Electronic Module
