Abstract

TikTok video sharing based social media is one of the most popular social media during the pandemic until now. TikTok facilitates the needs of its users to share and actualize themselves personally in mass media. This study aims to understand the stages of social penetration that can occur in online communities on TikTok Live and communities in the real world and the role of moderators in this stage. This research was conducted qualitatively by conducting observations and in-depth interviews with the parties in the community, namely content creators, moderators and audiences. The results of this study found that each party plays a different role in each stage of social penetration and can carry out acceleration and deceleration processes to speed up or slow down each stage for the benefit of the community. The findings of this study are expected to enrich the literature related to the theory of social penetration in cyberspace and the roles of the parties on TikTok.

Abstract

This journal aims to understand how Marketing Communication students from Binus LE51 interpret the experience of a breakup through conversations on the WhatsApp application. Using a qualitative descriptive method with a hermeneutic interpretation approach, the research analyzes conversation content from five students who voluntarily shared their breakup experiences. The study also found that the emotional recovery time after a breakup varies, depending on the closeness of the previous relationship and the support from friends. The study suggests the importance of further exploring the role of social media in emotional recovery processes among students, particularly within the increasingly interconnected digital environment. The end of a romantic relationship significantly impacts students' mental health and academic performance. Through a qualitative approach, the study reveals that breakups often trigger negative emotions such as sadness, anxiety, and stress. These emotions lead to decreased concentration, reduced quality of assignments, and poor academic performance.

Abstract

The advancement of blockchain technology has created challenges for traditional regulatory frameworks, regarding consumer protection in crypto asset ecosystems. This paper examines dichotomy between on-chain governance mechanisms embedded within blockchain protocols and off-chain regulatory approaches imposed by state authorities. Through normative legal research and comparative analysis of international regulatory practices, this study identifies critical gaps in Indonesia's current crypto asset regulatory framework. The research reveals that existing regulations, through government’s commodity-based approach, inadequately address the technological governance inherent in blockchain systems like smart contracts, decentralized protocols, and automated consensus mechanisms. The study proposes a hybrid regulatory construction that synchronizes technological governance with traditional state regulation to create comprehensive consumer protection. The findings demonstrate that integrating on-chain compliance mechanisms with off-chain oversight can enhance consumer safety while maintaining innovation momentum. This research contributes to digital law study by providing regulatory models suitable for Indonesia's legal system and broader emerging market contexts.
