Abstract

The development of technology, especially in learning, became an issue discussed in recent years. The main benefits of using technology include increasing students' interest and participation in the learning process. Learning technology is a tool used in the learning process to achieve learning objectives. This study is a case study that aims to explore the teaching English by using learning technology such as YouTube, Plickers, and Zoom Meeting at the Indonesian Vocational Higher Education. There were one instructor and sixteen cadets involved in the study. The data was taken using purposive sampling techniques, where the subjects of this study were instructor and cadets who used learning applications. The data are collected by interview and observation and analyzed using interactive model data analysis. This study shows that: 1) the use of learning technology makes cadets more active, 2) cadets are not familiar with learning applications, 3) internet connection is unstable, so the instructors have to prepare another activity. The selection of learning applications that suit cadets' needs make teaching and learning activities more variable.

Abstract

The low literacy of society, especially students in Indonesia, is a concern for the government. Literacy in schools involves the duties and responsibilities of teachers, government, families and society. Cultivating literacy involves students, education, educational staff and parents in practicing literacy as a habit at school. Strategies for realizing a culture of student literacy include strengthening the capacity of facilitators, creating a quality reading culture, expanding access to learning resources, involving the community, and strengthening governance. Student literacy culture can be realized with several strategies that must be implemented, the literacy program carried out by An-Nizam private middle school creates reading corners in every corner of the class, makes routine activities for various subjects scheduled and held in all classes for regular study visits to the school library, as well as celebrating language month is like holding a competition involving literacy activities. also created a project to strengthen the profile of pancasila students which aims to improve students' literacy competencies. the growth of students' literacy culture in the physical and affective environments needs to be accompanied by the implementation of learning strategies that strengthen students' literacy skills. Literacy skills are of course strengthened according to the stages of student literacy development.

Abstract

Intersections are an integral part of all road systems because they are places where traffic from two or more roads meets and changes direction. In Indonesia, the performance of intersections is controlled by traffic lights but still needs to be developed in order to meet the needs of drivers, where an efficient system is needed to control traffic flow. An Intelligent Traffic Control System (ITCS) is employed to enhance intersection efficiency and performance optimization. The ITCS system is expected to help reduce congestion because most of the traffic light intersections in Mataram City have ITCS devices installed. This research aims to asses the performance of the Dasan Cermen signalized intersection in Mataram City under conditions before and after the implementation of the Intelligent Traffic Control System (ITCS). The method used to analyze intersection performance is the Manual of Indonesian Road Capacity (MKJI) 1997.The research findings indicate that peak hours occur on  Wednesday, 06.30 - 07.30 WITA with a traffic volume of 2320 pcu/hour. The performance of the intersection before the ITCS installation showed an average degree of saturation (DS) of 1.273, an average delay (D) of the intersection of 732.222 seconds/pcu and an average queue length (QL) of 399.004 m. The performance of the intersection after installing ITCS showed an average degree of saturation (DS) of 1.271, an average delay (D) at the intersection of 646,771 seconds/pcu and an average queue length (QL) of 381,919 m. After installing ITCS, there was an increase in intersection performance based on the degree of saturation (DS) of 0.2%, delay (D) of 10.6% and queue length (QL) of 4.3%.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of international private air law to improve aviation safety, with a case study of the 2018 LION Air JT 610 aircraft accident. This study presents an overview of international private air law norms as a reference for international aviation sources of national air law and the extent to which the application and enforcement of the law can help prevent future aircraft accidents. The research method involves the analysis of official documents, international regulations, and official reports of aircraft accident investigation results. The results showed that although the aircraft accident occurred in Indonesia (domestic), the families of the victims received direct compensation from the mediation and charity results of Boeing. This study provides recommendations from the side of responsibility of airline companies, in providing compensation to victims so that new requirements are not added that will later burden victims or their families. At the same time, from the safety aspect, support from all parties is needed from regulators, operators, and stakeholders to follow up and take action and report progress on safety recommendations from investigations so that similar accidents do not occur with the same causes in the future.
