Abstract

Mathematical literacy is an essential competence in mathematics education; however, numerous studies indicate that students’ mathematical literacy in Indonesia remains at a low to moderate level. This study aims to systematically examine the condition and challenges of students’ mathematical literacy in Indonesia, the factors contributing to low mathematical literacy in conventional instruction, the implementation of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) integrated with differentiated instruction as a learning solution, as well as the strengths and limitations of applying differentiated PBL in mathematics learning. This study employed a literature review method by analyzing 21 relevant scientific articles published between 2023 and 2025. Data were analyzed using a qualitative descriptive approach through the classification and synthesis of research findings based on four analytical focuses. The findings reveal that low mathematical literacy is characterized by students’ difficulties in understanding contextual problems, modeling mathematical situations, and interpreting solutions. The main contributing factors include teacher-centered instruction, the dominance of procedural exercises, limited real-world contexts, and the lack of accommodation for students’ diverse characteristics. The implementation of differentiated PBL has been shown to effectively improve mathematical literacy and its supporting skills, although challenges remain in terms of lesson planning, time allocation, teacher readiness, and authentic assessment.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The development of digital technology encourages micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to adopt social media–based marketing strategies in order to enhance business visibility and competitiveness. However, many traditional MSMEs still face limitations in digital literacy and remain dependent on conventional marketing practices, as experienced by UD Sumber Genteng. This community service activity focuses on strengthening the partner’s digital capacity through mentoring in the use of the TikTok platform as a product promotion medium. The stages of the activity include identifying the partner’s needs, mentoring in the establishment of a digital identity, training in content planning and production that highlights the roof tile manufacturing process, and an initial evaluation of the partner’s readiness to manage digital marketing independently. The results indicate an improvement in the partner’s understanding of the importance of digital identity, enhanced ability to develop more targeted and authentic promotional content, and initial readiness to implement social media–based marketing strategies in a sustainable manner. This activity concludes that optimizing TikTok as a marketing medium has the potential to expand market reach and improve the competitiveness of traditional MSMEs, provided it is supported by continuous mentoring and consistency in digital content management. ABSTRAK Perkembangan teknologi digital mendorong pelaku usaha mikro, kecil, dan menengah (UMKM) untuk mengadopsi strategi pemasaran berbasis media sosial guna meningkatkan visibilitas dan daya saing usaha. Namun, sebagian UMKM tradisional masih menghadapi keterbatasan literasi digital dan ketergantungan pada pola pemasaran konvensional, sebagaimana dialami oleh UD Sumber Genteng. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini berfokus pada peningkatan kapasitas digital mitra melalui pendampingan pemanfaatan platform TikTok sebagai sarana promosi produk. Tahapan kegiatan meliputi identifikasi kebutuhan mitra, pendampingan pembentukan identitas digital, pelatihan perencanaan dan produksi konten yang menonjolkan proses pembuatan genteng, serta evaluasi awal kesiapan mitra dalam mengelola pemasaran digital secara mandiri. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman mitra terhadap pentingnya identitas digital, kemampuan menyusun konten promosi yang lebih terarah dan autentik, serta kesiapan awal dalam menerapkan pemasaran berbasis media sosial secara berkelanjutan. Kegiatan ini menyimpulkan bahwa optimalisasi TikTok sebagai media pemasaran berpotensi memperluas jangkauan pasar dan meningkatkan daya saing UMKM tradisional apabila didukung oleh pendampingan berkelanjutan serta konsistensi dalam pengelolaan konten digital.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of government expenditure and investment on the Constant Price Gross Regional Domestic Product (PDRB) in North Sumatra Province. A quantitative approach with multiple linear regression design was used, with government expenditure and investment as independent variables and PDRB as the dependent variable. Secondary data from 2010 to 2024 were collected from the Central Statistics Agency of North Sumatra Province. The analysis was conducted using Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) estimation, including classical assumption tests, partial (t) and simultaneous (F) significance tests, and determination coefficient (R²). The results indicate that government expenditure has a positive and significant effect on PDRB, investment also exerts a positive and significant effect, and together both variables have a significant simultaneous impact on regional economic growth. These findings emphasize the importance of coordinating fiscal policies and investment strategies to promote sustainable economic growth. The study provides empirical evidence that can serve as a reference for regional governments in designing more efficient and effective development policies and budget allocation to enhance production capacity and public welfare.
