Abstract

Background: The literature on primary care interventions aimed at preventing child maltreatment reveals a complex interplay between risk factors, intervention strategies, and the need for tailored approaches to support families. Literature Review: The examination of primary care interventions aimed at preventing child maltreatment reveals a multifaceted landscape characterized by varying risk factors, intervention strategies, and the necessity for tailored approaches to effectively support families. The literature emphasizes the challenges in developing universal strategies that cater to the diverse circumstances of families while ensuring that interventions are perceived as personalized. A significant gap exists in the current research regarding effective interventions for families facing multiple stressors, such as substance abuse and domestic violence, highlighting the need for a preventative public health approach that enhances awareness of child maltreatment signs. Conclusion: Collectively, these articles underscore the importance of a multifaceted approach to child maltreatment prevention, advocating for tailored interventions that address the unique challenges faced by families. The literature highlights the necessity for continued research to inform effective practices within primary care contexts, focusing on the integration of behavioral parenting interventions to address the broader implications of parenting practices on child development and well-being.

Abstract

The Sungkai plant (Peronema canescens Jack) is a widely recognized medicinal plant in Indonesia, with its leaves recently gaining attention for their potential health benefits. This study explores the microencapsulation of ethanol extract from Sungkai leaves using three different coating materials—maltodextrin, inulin, and Arabic gum—at varying concentrations. The aim of this study was to identify the optimal microencapsulation formulation using these materials. Microencapsulation was performed using the extrusion method, and the best formulation was characterized by evaluating its physicochemical properties, morphology, and infrared (IR) spectrum. Antioxidant activity was measured using the 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) assay. The results showed that microencapsulant formulation A1 exhibited superior physicochemical properties compared to other formulations. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis of sample A1 revealed a smooth surface with a slightly rounded shape and minimal wall folds or cracks, suggesting good stability. Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) analysis confirmed effective encapsulation of the ethanol extract. While the crude extract demonstrated the highest antioxidant activity, microencapsulation slightly reduced this activity. Among the microencapsulated samples, formulation A1 (using Arabic gum) retained the most antioxidant potential. In conclusion, formulation A1, utilizing Arabic gum as the coating material, was found to be the optimal microencapsulation formulation for the ethanol extract of Sungkai leaves.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the implementation of the Pancasila and Rahmatan lil 'Alamin Student Profile Strengthening Program (P5RA) at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Unggulan Al Fadel Bogor. The P5RA program, which has been running since the 2022/2023 school year as part of the Independent Curriculum, is designed to strengthen the values of Pancasila and the principles of Rahmatan lil 'Alamin in students. This study uses the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) evaluation model to analyze four main aspects: the context of implementation, the availability of resources, the implementation process, and the results and impact of the program. The research method is qualitative with a descriptive approach, involving teachers, educators, and students as research subjects. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation studies, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The results showed that P5RA succeeded in increasing students' involvement in project-based learning and strengthening their character, such as independence, tolerance, and responsibility. A contextual evaluation revealed that the program not only met policy demands but also answered students' needs for holistic character education. From the input aspect, the availability of human resources and supporting facilities is the key to the success of the program. However, the study also identified challenges such as time constraints, lack of standardization of evaluations, and lack of socialization to parents. Overall, P5RA has proven to be effective in shaping student character, although improvements are needed in the evaluation and management aspects to ensure the sustainability of the program.
