Abstract

Cervical cancer is widely found in women in developing countries, with a prevalence of cervical cancer of almost 70%, because the level of awareness about cervical cancer and early detection is still low. The cause of 99% of cervical cancer cases is Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) infection, and WHO data between 2019 and 2021 state that the coverage of the first dose of HPV vaccination fell by 25% to 15%. In Indonesia, HPV vaccine coverage in 2019 was very low, with only 1.1% of all adults receiving the vaccine. The WHO recommends that girls aged 9 to 14 years are the main target for 1 or 2 doses of HPV vaccine because at this time it is very possible to get HPV immunization. Preventive efforts are behaviors related to individual health known as health behaviors, by providing education using cervical cancer prevention podcasts to students. This study aimed to determine the changes in students’ knowledge about cervical cancer prevention after receiving podcast media education. The method used descriptive. Education was carried out 2 times in 41 students with podcast media. The results showed that there was an increase in knowledge about cervical cancer prevention by 14.3% after students were given education with podcasts. Providing education using cervical cancer prevention podcasts to students increases student knowledge, so that it can affect the acceptance of the HPV vaccine.

Abstract

Background: Poor access to clean water can be an indirect cause of stunting in toddlers. This is because the need for clean water and sanitation at home is not met, this condition makes toddlers susceptible to diseases such as diarrhea.  Activity objectives: increase community knowledge about how to process water, provide access to clean water for families of stunted toddlers, and improve water processing skills. Method: This activity is in partnership with Baleendah Community Health Center, RW 18 and RW 27, Baleendah sub-district. The method used is education and training on groundwater treatment with filtration, targeting 6 families of stunted toddlers and 30 community members. Results: There is an increase in knowledge and water quality. The water becomes colorless, odorless and clear and the levels of manganese and iron in clean water fall below the required levels. Conclusion: People understand and realize the importance of clean water, they can apply the filtration process to treat ground water. Families of stunted toddlers can have access to clean water by processing groundwater into clean water.

Abstract

Background: Indonesia faces health challenges, especially with the increasing prevalence of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) such as Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (DM), particularly among adolescents. The National Diabetes Statistics Report (2017) reported a DM prevalence of 7.2% among children and adolescents in 2015, while data from the Cimahi Health Department (2023) showed a 20% increase in DM cases among adolescents over the past two years. Objective: To assess the feasibility of an interactive educational website for Type 2 diabetes prevention at SMAN 4 Cimahi using the 4D approach (Define, Design, Development, Dissemination). Methods: This study used the 4D approach, involving define, design, development with material testing, media testing, small-scale trials, and statistical analysis using a quasi-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design, with a sample of 81 respondents and dissemination Results: Analysis revealed that students required an interactive educational website on Type 2 diabetes. The website was designed with menu navigation features, relevant images, and compatibility for both smartphones and laptops, with a blue color theme and sans-serif font. The statistical tests indicated the media was highly feasible and had a significant impact on adolescents' knowledge for Type 2 diabetes prevention. The media can be accessed via the provided link. Conclusion: The interactive educational website for Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus is highly feasible and accessible via the link (https://instingku-e718a.website.app/).

Abstract

Background: Non-communicable diseases, including diabetes mellitus (DM), pose a global threat. The IDF reports a global DM prevalence of 1.9%, with 95% being type 2 DM. In children and adolescents, the prevalence of type 2 DM increased to 7.2% in 2015. In West Java, DM cases reached 644,704 in 2022. Unhealthy lifestyles are the primary risk factors. Health promotion, such as podcasts, is effective for educating about healthy lifestyles. Surveys show 67.97% of respondents are familiar with podcasts. Research at SMAN 1 Cimahi found no DM education via podcasts, suggesting this medium for DM prevention. Objective: To assess the feasibility of using audio podcasts to prevent Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus at SMAN 1 Cimahi using the 4D approach. Method: The research employed a 4D approach (Define, Design, Development, Dissemination) with material testing, media testing, small-scale testing, and statistical testing using a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design (one group pretest-posttest). The sample consisted of 80 participants. Results: Analysis showed students needed educational podcasts about type 2 diabetes mellitus. The educational podcast was designed using voice recording apps, VN, Capcut, and Canva. Canva was used to create appropriate YouTube backgrounds. The resulting podcast, lasting 7 minutes and 7 seconds, is accessible on all smartphones and available on YouTube. Statistical tests confirmed the media's feasibility and its positive impact on adolescent knowledge for preventing type 2 diabetes mellitus. Conclusion: The educational podcast for Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus is highly feasible and accessible through the link  https://youtu.be/JjI_sHL3RQI?si=68VYoNNq7p2u0eyg.

Abstract

Health development has increased life expectancy, consequently, the population of menopausal women has increased. Menopause causes problems including dyspareunia. Limited information on dyspareunia makes women worried and afraid when entering menopause period. Education may help them understand changes in their bodies. The research aimed to analyze the effect of quartet card educational media on knowledge, self-efficacy, dyspareunia of menopausal women. This research used pre-test and post-test method with control design. The sampling technique was purposive sampling and the sample was menopausal women experiencing dyspareunia determined through NRS, not having health-related educational background, literate, not senile. The exclusion criteria were menopausal women using anti-depressants, antihistamines, sedatives, progestin or estrogen birth control pills, having hormone therapy, history of sexual abuse, injury or infection in the genital area or urinary tract, and those who met both criteria were 70 people (35 people in each group). The independent variable was quartet card educational media on menopausal dyspareunia, and the dependent variables were knowledge, self-efficacy, dyspareunia. Knowledge was measured using instruments, self-efficacy was measured using GSE, and dyspareunia scale was measured using NRS questionnaire. Quartet card game was conducted twice, two weeks apart, approximately one hour for each session. Data were analyzed using Wilcoxon and Mann-Withney test. The test results revealed that quartet card educational media on menopausal dyspareunia increases knowledge and self-efficacy and reduces menopausal dyspareunia significantly, all with p-value= 0.000 < 0.05. The use of menopausal dyspareunia quartet card can overcome dyspareunia and reduce the prevalence of stress in menopausal women.
