Abstract

Usaha Mikro, Kecil dan Menengah (UMKM) Tanjung Aur yang dijalankan oleh lembaga Kelompok Wanita Tani (KWT) Tanjung Aur Desa Jenggalu Kecamatan Sukaraja Kabupaten Seluma sudah mengalami kerugian usaha keripik ubi kayu sejak Juni 2022. Sehingga produksi dengan terpaksa dihentikan (bangkrut). Permasalahan utama yang dihadapi yakni pengadaan bahan baku yang sulit dan tenaga pemasaran yang minim. Dari permasalahan tersebut, perlu adanya produk baru yang dapat diproduksi oleh UMKM tanpa harus menambah peralatan usaha secara signifikan. Hal ini dikarenakan adanya keterbatasan modal usaha akibat dari kebangkrutan yang dialami. Tim Pengabdian menawarkan solusi dari permasalahan yang sedang dihadapi UMKM Tanjung Aur berupa pembuatan produk usaha baru yakni aneka kerupuk pedas. Dengan pertimbangan teknik pengolahan terbilang mudah diterapkan pada UMKM, bahan baku yang berlimpah, sasaran pasar sangat luas (warung kecil hingga toko besar) dan penggunaan peralatan yang sama dengan produksi keripik sebelumnya. Pengabdian ini akan dilakukan dengan metode sosialisasi/pengenalan produk kerupuk pedas dan pelatihan langsung terhadap pembuatan kerupuk pedas.

Abstract

The role of women in household decision-making is essential to understanding the dynamics of gender relations, particularly in determining the relative dominance between men and women in household activities and overall family welfare. Purpose: This study aims to analyze the income contribution and decision-making role of female vegetable traders in household affairs at Panorama Market, Bengkulu City. Methodology: Data were collected through direct interviews with 40 respondents, using purposive sampling techniques, and supplemented with secondary data from relevant literature. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistical methods. Results: The average monthly income contribution of female vegetable traders is Rp2,248,110 or 54% of total household income, indicating a moderate contribution level. As much as 41.6% of household decisions were made independently by the wife, particularly in productive, domestic, and social aspects. Findings: Women play an important role in household decision-making and family welfare, both financially and in various aspects of decision-making. Novelty: This study highlights the dual role of informal female traders in traditional Indonesian markets, serving as both income earners and household decision-makers. Originality: By examining the relationship between economic contribution and gender-based decision-making dynamics in a rarely studied local context, this research enriches the literature on gender and the informal economy in Southeast Asia. Conclusion: A high economic contribution encourages women’s dominance in household decision-making. Strengthening business capital and promoting a more balanced division of domestic roles are expected to enhance overall household welfare. Type of Paper: Research Article.

Abstract

Kepahiang district is one of the Robusta’s coffee production centre in Bengkulu Province. With total area size of Robusta coffee about 454.073 hectares, the production was about 1, 2 million ton in a year. The production is available for more than 30 local coffee processor at Kabupaten Kepahiang. A great contribution to an economy, robusta coffee processors were providing jobs, market guarantees and added value.  Today, the ninety percent of production was delivered to outside processors while only ten percent was for local processors. The business, its self-facing fluctuation of output and input prices, highest risk, interest rate, and etc. How was the sensitivity level of the financial feasibility of coffee processor at Kepahiang district? Financial feasibility sensitivity level was assessed by the three changing indicators namely input availability, interest rate and input cost. The results show that business of coffee processor at Kepahiang district is still profitable and feasible under the three changing indicators.

Abstract

Commodity prices, including prices for agricultural products, play a very important function in making decisions both in production and marketing. Therefore, the study of price volatility and transmission is very important to be carried out to obtain price behavior in the market, including coffee prices. This research is aimed at analyzing the volatility and transmission of Indonesian coffee prices at the producer, the national (f.o.b price), and the International level. The data used are monthly data of coffee beans at producer level in Bengkulu province, Indonesia f.o.b prices, and International coffee prices in 2010:1 "“ 2017:12. The ARCH-GARCH method is used to analyze the coffee price volatility, while the ECM method is used for coffee price transmission analysis. The research shows that producer-level coffee prices in Bengkulu Province and International experienced a low price volatility. The transmission of coffee prices from international prices to f.o.b Indonesia price experienced a price adjustment of 13.07% towards the price balance. Meanwhile, the coffee price transmission from International prices to prices at the producer level in Bengkulu Province experienced a price adjustment of 8.93% towards the price balance.
